The Guardians just five games back in the central division with five games. Head to head left to play against Detroit and don’t look now, but they’re only two out in the wild card race as the Astros and the Red Sox have come back to the pack for Cleveland. Jack was outstanding in New York last time. A lot of it’s that fastball. We know if Jack Flaherty comes out and he throws a good convicted fast ball and hit his spots, it makes the curveball and slider play even better. Two up and two down here in the first inning here now is Jose Ramirez two for five last night with a double jose celebrating his birthday and he has always done well. Colt strike three. Got him. He’s not going to like that one. It was similarly off the plate as the one called a ball. Jack will take it 95 on the fastball. Ramirez takes a called third. He thought he drawn a walk. He had a beef and 123 1st inning for Jack Flaherty, gavin Williams will be our starting pitcher for the night. He is making his 30th start of the year and he has had a fine year 10 to 5 with a 3, 16, er, a 152 strikeouts. First one, don’t wait around. It’s a laser to the right field corner. Parker Meadows goes to second base one pitch, two bases. Tigers are ready to play some baseball today. Shake off yesterday’s game. Get right back after today. Start off with a Bang Gavin Williams. He’s always pitched well against Detroit in his young career swing and a miss, he went fishing. He did. The last two pitches were out of the zone and he chased them first strikeout for Gavin Williams. So Carp aboard, here’s spencer, Toleen hit a two run homer in the 10th inning last night swing and wicked slider him up. So Williams gets his second strikeout two out two on first inning. Still no score. But again, danger looms and Riley Green 12th pitch of the at bat swing and a miss, he struck him out with a nasty curveball, got him swinging a wicked curve ball to end it. Williams strikes out the side but it wasn’t easy. Was it so fly ball out? That’s three now, one to left, one to center and one to right, just pop ups. Basically, this has been a good matchup for him. 32 is line to left field. Riley Green lays out and makes the catch right back up. Riley Green looked like it would sink and drop, but there’s Riley green six up six down for Jack Flaherty. Well, Gavin Williams had a laborious first inning but he got out of it unscathed but it took 29 pitches, 22 swing and a miss and a good breaking ball from gavin Williams and he has struck out 43 consecutively. Now there’s a line drive right field that’s down, has a single on a first pitch. Fastball. Parker Meadows, first pitch, double, first pitch single down the switch ending right fielder wins. Perez strike three called on a back door curve. Perez out number two, strang out number five, all five outs recorded by gavin Williams have been strikeouts tonight. Oh boy, that is hit a to deep left center field on the run. He got there. He ran it down from out of nowhere. He truly came out of left field. He sure did. And somehow Stephen Kwan saved the day with another great running catch. So the second walk in the inning. So Kafa to second, stephen Kwan to first still no score. These are the inconsistencies that we see from Jack here is George Valera grounded out his first time up and this is where putting Valera between Kan and Ramirez makes things very interesting, swung on drill to left. There’s a base hit that is going to score CJ K stopping at second is one and a good at bat for George Valero rifled one the other way. A two out RB I single to left to put Cleveland on the board. One to nothing. That’s the first hit for Cleveland and it’s the second major league RB I for George Valera and the Guardians have the first lead off. A pair of walks, Jack Flaherty back to work for the Tigers facing Kyle Manzo Manzo trying to bloop one in third baseman Cole Keith looks up and it drops fair inside the chalk and Manzi hustling all the way, gets into second base with a leadoff double. That’s great hustle out of the box. He wasn’t sure. And I was watching Green come in because he’s the only one that would have been able to get there. And after it hits soon as you see fair, he’s off and going that will be a double ground ball to third. That’s Keith right at the line. His throw is right there. A bull’s eye two down. Nice play by Keith as he had to come in on that ball, picked it up right near the third base bag and made the strong throw two down. Here comes Nolan Jones Guardians up 1 to 0 strike three. Jack is on a Lider to deposit Jones in the first base dugout coming back and Jack Flaherty after this punch out right here in the top of the fourth, second trip through five base runners, three singles, two walks and the 89 hitters have reached to start the fifth inning and the pitch count is now climbing into the low eighties. The bottom of the order. Broo hasn’t had a hit in like five games. Tigers are big proponents of first pick strikes and reduced walks lays down a bunt, third base side of the mount flare to get his and keeps the bag was trying to create real carnage for the Tigers defense there and Jack made a very nice play lays down a pretty good bunt and nice job by Spencer to, to keep his foot on the bag. A big moment for Jack Flaherty, George Valera at the plate. He’s grounded out line drive single. He did it and it was perfect. That’s stepping up to a moment right there by Jack Flaherty perfectly executed slider at the bottom rail, Jose ramirez will be walked and that will leave it up to kyle Monzo that with the bases loaded. I realize the magnitude of the moment he wants to make sure three and two bases loaded it. Jack Flaherty lets it out with a yell, showing some emotion as he leaves the mound likely at the end of the night, he just stranded three big strikeout in the top of the fifth inning. Gavin Williams goes back to work through 61 hit innings at the Tigers earlier this season. He’s only allowed two hits here tonight. Waved at and missed strike three a week at a curveball by Mckinstry and he strikes out that’s the eighth for Williams in what could be his last inning , he’s at 93 pitches. This has been a quick one so far here in the fifth with the Guardians in front. The 1 to 2 there goes the runner , the pitch is down low. The throw by Naylor, a good one. It is. They called him out at home. It was a strike three long Labor Torres. So it didn’t matter. The inning is over and after five it remains one. Cleveland. Good to have her back. Remember he was optioned to lead in mid August because of command issues, severe command issues. Now, Gabriel Arias zero for two. He’s been the victim of really good defensive plays right center field, well struck in the alley that will go to the wall short hops the fence and the second base with a one out double is Gabriel Arias. That’s his third hit of the series. And when Gabriel Arias stays on the ball the other way, he is some kind of dangerous. Taking off for third is a and he goes in without a throw. Her was standing on the mound looking into home plate looking for a sign and Arias just took off for third and got there with no throw and we’re going to get a pinch hitter for CJ Kafa, Angel Martinez. So Herder will leave Tommy Kinley trying to keep this a one run game against Angel Martinez line drive right field base hit scoring is arias two nothing guardian Angel Martinez with a clutch two out pinch hit RB I single. Gabriel Arias with that one out , double stole third and scores on the pitch RB I single to rank by Martinez and back to back nights where Martinez has had massive hits, two base runners in the inning both on via the free pass. And that is simply asking for trouble two outs. At least it up to Glaber torres , nobody better on this Tigers team this year and on base runners in scoring position, he just delivers again and again and again. 34,000 waiting to roar a quartet of Cleveland pitchers blanking Detroit through seven swung and smashed to third ramirez to his knees. Fields. It gets up, throws over inning over Jose Ramirez with a big time defensive play at third and it stays 2 to 0. Cleveland, it is ball four and the bases are loaded and at some point, Cleveland’s got a chance to bust the game open and it would be massive if they could with two. Naylor is the batter zero for four right field. If it’s down, it’s fair. It is two runs will score and the Guardians get the clutch hit they’ve been dying for and it comes in the ninth with two outs off the bat of Bo Naylor and it makes it a 4 to 0 Guardians lead line drive toward the line and right base hit and delivered the two out two run single. He has 38 bottom of the ninth in Motown Guardians lead it 4 to 0 no longer a save situation, but Kate smith was up, he was getting ready. He’s coming in swing and a miss ball game and the Guardians just keep winning their longest win streak of the season six in a row and they’re just 4.5 back of the Tigers in the central division. Certainly real challengers for the American League Central title this year.

Tigers got problems if they can’t win with Skubal tomorrow
The Astros are going to leave the Tigers in the dust where they belong!!!!!!!!! Hahaha!!!!!!!! Stay mad baby girls.
For Cleveland to lose a starting pitcher and one of the best closers in the league in impressed by their position right now….. they would already be ahead of the Tigers in the win column
YESSSSSSS!!!!
2025 Tigers will be responsible for one of the biggest implosions in sports history. Their pitching has become pathetic.
I'm starting to get a '69 Cubs vibe
Great pitching…spectacular defense…clutch hitting…All adding up to another playoff run for Steven Vogt and the Guardians!
Detroit played way above their pay grade for quite a while. They arnt really contenders….not yet.
Guardians are getting closer to the Tigers in AL Central, also the Wild Card standings.
The Tigers are so f***ing embarrassing.. Scott was sitting on his hands at the trade deadline, and it's really showing now.. At this point, we should have traded for Paul Skenes and gave Pittsburgh any price they asked for him.. That way, Skubal and Skenes could blank every team when they take the mound to win us a World series title that we haven't seen since 1984.. Scott is wasting these 2 years we have Skubal under contract..
Start fining 1000 dollars for anyone who strikes out on the Tigers for the rest of the season. These strikeouts have to end
Now the Guardians are the ones getting hot
I can’t trust a man who wears knee high socks
And that's why Cleveland owned the AL Central in straight seasons. Dont sleep on the reigning divisional champions
The Cleveland Guardians are 80-71🔵🔴⚪️💂♂️
1:16 “Tigers are ready to play some baseball today” = they get 3 hits the rest of the game.
Goose egg? Really? C'mon Tigs.
Give your pitchers some HELP!
I don't think the Tigers are contenders anymore their pretenders it seems to me now and Guardians are on fire still think it to late for theem to make the playoffs though.
did we fire A J yet> Relief PITICHING is missing in Detroit/////
One game at a time! Great job Tribe👍🏻
LOL Guardians think they are going to get one of those wild cards! LOL
The Guardos have won 10 of their last 11, 15-5 over their last 20. It's getting interesting.
Tigers are pathetic! Choke, choke, choke! Disgusting!! Maybe they could win in Double A??
Besbol🇺🇸⚾️
Let’s go Guardians 80-71
Gavin Williams stuff is nasty
Tigers will squeak into the playoffs. Ridiculous.
As soon as you see it's Flaherty pitching, you can already consider the game over for the Tigers. The bullpen is also at fault, but don't ignore his performance for the last several games.
as someone who lives in northern ohio..i hate the guardians. just lose 5 in a row already
Has anyone seen anything as bad as what the Tigers are doing. It's like a curse. Terrible
Lost 3 series 1 to last place Chicago White Sox 1 to Marlins. Lost the series to Cleveland. Bad, real bad!!
You know things are bad. Noel a .163 hitter has 2 hits off Skubal, 1 a home run to tie the score…
Great game Tribe!
Tigers reliving Minnesota 's September from last year. Their starting pitching is finally worse then their relief pitching
