ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Columbia men’s golf team competed at The Goat on Saturday and Sunday at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course. The Lions finished in 15th place at 66 over par for the tournament.
 
Senior Darren Pang had Columbia’s top individual performance. Pang carded a three-round total of 11-over-par 224, highlighted by a second round 1-over 72. He had four birdies and five bogeys in Saturday’s second round, including a birdie at his opening hole, the par-4 sixth, and another at his last, the 412-yard, par-4 fifth. He tied for 37th in the 84-player field.
 
First years Alejandro Formosa (+18) and Neil Kulkarni (+19) started for the second time in two collegiate tournaments. Senior George Rubelsky (+19) and first year Sam Johnson (+30) rounded out Columbia’s five. Johnson made his debut in Columbia’s starting lineup.
 
The Lions host another edition of the Columbia Autumn Invitational this coming weekend, September 27-28, at Lake Placid Club’s Links Course. Columbia has won the event each of the last three seasons.
