Joe Sack, our captain, was an amazing player, but even a better person. So classy. We win game six. All Joe wants to talk about says, “Ray, how are we going to do the cup thing?” I’m like, “Joe, let’s win the game and we’ll worry about the freaking cup after we win the game.” He says, “Okay, right. Right next to me.” He gets the cup from Bman. He just wants to grab it. Then Bman said, “No, no, we got to take a picture first.” And then Bman says, “Somebody who’s been waiting for this for a long time.” And then Joe grabs a cup and just passes it on to me. And then then it’s just like what a relief. Didn’t he make you skate it, too? Oh yeah. So the captain’s a guy that lifts a cup every time. Joe took me out for lunch before I came back my second year. I don’t feel comfortable wearing a seat with you on my team. I’m like, Joe, forget it, buddy. You are the leader of this team. You saw what I did last year. I don’t need a A or a C or whatever. I’m going to do what I need to do.

  1. Bruins & Bourque fan. I was happy for Ray and the Avs.

That team was fun to watch.

  2. Detroit born and raised here. I HATED the AVs during those years. But was glad to see Bourque get his glory. Well deserved.

  3. Joe and his wife right after winning the cup the next morning they stopped by an annual event for shelter dogs and donated a check, and went on with Avs events

  4. Not to take anything away from Joe Sakic as a player and a human being, but there is something you need to know before you can judge him properly!!!:

I somehow spot the elusive Joe when he was in a mall in my town, this was sometime between their first cup and this cup that Ray speaks of… I knew it was him but for some reason the crowd in the mall did not and he blended in well- i also don't live in a hockey town but it's a big tourist trap of a town… And i went up to him and told him "you suck and the Av's suck" then asked him for an autograph and he gave me rather scary look then got up from the bench and walked away- he wasn't with anyone which is odd to be alone in a mall is kind of creepy and unusual to begin with and it's not like he had ice cream or bags in his hands so odd…

I never forgot that moment! I knew it was him and he denied a huge hockey fan- enough to recognize Joe in a crowd of people, an autograph- which was going to add to my collection not sell.

Amazing how spoiled and entitled some stars are in real life yet keeps an image of being perfect and above such petty behavior to fans…

And yes being a professional is giving a fan what they are entitled to even if they don't like your team or your kind your playing…

Just thought you guys should know the truth about off camera Joe, and who he really is in RL when he doesn't have his cronies around to propagate "saintly" stories about their "Divine Caption"

I was lucky he didn't throw a punch, his eyes looked like the eyes of the beast 666!!!!!!! Not a good man, indeed… Certainly not the perfect gentlemen in RL that they would like you to believe…

BTW Ray is a good guy i never had an encounter with him so i'll give him the benefit of the doubt til proven otherwise…

May G'd have mercy on his soul and anyone who buys into the press's false deities known as over paid unprofessional NHL'ers! AMEN, AND PEACE BRUHHHSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
