MUNCIE, Ind. – The Belmont men’s golf team finished tied for third place at the Yestingsmeier Invitational held this weekend at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana.
Belmont shot a 282 in Sunday’s final round to move up two spots and finish in a tie for third place with Wright State at 836. Host Ball State won the team title at 813, with Butler in second at 816.
Three Bruins finished among the top-25. Senior Conner Brown shot a final round 71 to finish in a tie for sixth place at 203. He finished five strokes back of the medalist, Luke Johnston of Ball State, who won in a playoff. It was his first top-10 finish since the Pinetree Intercollegiate in October of 2024.
Freshman Charlie Spiller posted his first career top-20 finish as he tied for 18th place at 209. He shot a final round 69.
Junior Chris Harpum earned his second straight top-25 finish as he finished the event in a tie for 21st at 210.
Other Belmont scores included: freshman Jack Doyle (T-38, 215) and junior Grey Goff (T-47, 217).
Sophomore Brennan Cozad, competing as an individual, finished in 84th place at 217.
The men’s golf team is back in action on September 29-30 at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Illinois.
