STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State Women’s Golf begins their second tournament of the fall campaign at the Kalispel Invitational on Monday at the Kalispel Country Club in Spokane, Wash.
 
The Texans will be competing in the 14-team field in their first ever trip to the state of Washington. The 54-hole, three round event hosted by Eastern Washington will kick off on Monday with the first two rounds. Tuesday will host the third and final round with all rounds played at the Kalispel Country Club.

The Texans tied for sixth as a team at their first event of the year was just two weeks ago. Darianys Guzman and Louise Depadt led the way for the Purple and White each finishing in the top 15, tying for 11th overall. The duo each turned in the lowest round score by a Texan across the three days, carding a 73.
 
Tarleton State’s lineup will feature five golfers this time around in Washington. Guzman will lead the Texans playing out of the number one spot. Following the Dorado, Puerto Rico, native is Lou Deltombe and Gina Chen. Playing in the fourth spot is Kansas State transfer Natalia Fiel Ros who competed as an individual last time out for the Texans. Rebeca Fernandez rounds out the rotation for the Texans in the fifth slot.
 
Last spring, the Texans won their first WAC Tournament Championship in program history. The Purple and White earned their first berth to the NCAA Regional Championships as the WAC’s automatic qualifier. The program was the first Tarleton State team to qualify for an NCAA Championship Tournament in the university’s Division I era. At the WAC Championships, Louise Depadt won the individual crown shooting a program record 206, 10-under par.
 
The Texans will play a pair of tournaments in Kansas in October. The first of two will be at the Marilynn Smith Invitational hosted by the University of Kansas in Lawrence. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is scheduled to open on Monday, Oct. 6 and close on Oct. 7. Two weeks later, the Texans will return to Kansas, this time in Manhattan to compete in Kansas State’s Powercat Invitational. The three round, two-day event opens on Oct. 21 at the Colbert Hills Golf Course.
