Hey everybody, welcome back to the channel Joey D’s Golf Journey. It is time for another club review. So recently I went out to um to Dicks Sporting Goods and I I don’t even know why I was there. I think I was just there browsing around and I found this 2024 Cobra Dark Speed driver was on sale for 300 bucks. Now, you are not finding clubs for $300 from the big name brands right now. Cobra is trying to, you know, reestablish themselves in the in the golf industry. Um, you know, it’s but what’s nice about it is their their equipment is awesome. It’s awesome. And you’re not paying the prices that you pay for Tailor Made and Callaway and all that stuff. I I don’t know if I I don’t know what the price of the 2025 Cobra driver is. the dark speed that’s out that everybody’s raving about. But this is the 2024 version and this is the X the X one. So there’s there was three brands. There’s the uh the super forgiving one. There’s the X, which is supposed to be suit suitable for all kinds of golfers. And there is the LS1, which is more for lower handicap golfers, very low spin driver, um, and can be kind of tough to hit if you’re not squaring it up. Even this one, if you don’t square it up, right, can can be difficult. It has two weights, right? You have your heavier weight in the back and the lighter weight in the front. You can reverse these weights. So, if I wanted to be a more forgiving driver, I can put the the bigger weight up front and the lighter weight in the back. Um, but when you want ultimate distance and lower spin, you keep the lighter weight in the front and the higher weight in the back. I’ve tried them both ways. So, I have decided that I my swing has been pretty good enough to keep that lower weight in the front and higher weight in the back. And I’m hitting this freaking driver. Great. Uh, I’m still learning it, still dialing it in, but man, when I connect with it. Well, you know what? Let’s just take a look. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Hey, so as you can see from those shots, I’m able work it both ways, right to left, left to right. Um, it goes a long way. When I really connect with this thing, I am in spots on the golf course that I’ve never been before, and I really notice it at my home course more than anywhere else. But I am telling you guys right now, if you are looking for a good driver at kind of a budget price right now, the 2024 Cobra Dark Speed, I would go with the X or I would go with the I wish I should know the the um the one for the the most forgiving one. Uh but the X is is suitable for most golfers, right? And you can, like I said, switch the weights out to have it be either be more forgiving or be lower spin and maybe hit it a little further. It is a fantastic driver. It feels so solid. Had a couple friends hit it. They all love it, too. So, shout out to Cobra Golf.
