Since the Elivy golf season wrapped up, Brooks Kepka has been looking for new ways to keep his competitive fire burning. The five-time major champion has dipped into the DP World Tour over the past few weeks, but the results have been anything but satisfying. First, he teed it up at the Amgen Irish Open only to watch Rory Mroy lift the trophy in front of the Irish faithful. Then, he gave another go at the BMW PGA Championship. But once again, Kepka walked away without much to celebrate. Now with no RDER Cup action on his calendar, Kepka is taking another swing at redemption. According to Smash GC’s official Instagram, the American star is heading to France for his next challenge. The FedEx opened to France 2025, staged at the prestigious golf to St. Nom Labertesh. The event boasts a hefty $3.25 $25 million purse and Kepka will be returning to the French tournament for the first time in more than a decade. Having last competed there in 2014, the opportunity couldn’t come at a better time. Ka has missed the cut in both of his recent DP World Tour starts, raising questions about his form. Yet, with the field in France lacking some of the sport’s biggest names, the door may be wide open for him to finally seize a muchneeded victory. After disappointments in Ireland and England, Kepka is surely desperate to change the narrative and perhaps find a bigger reason to celebrate this time around. But Kepka’s motivation extends far beyond pride. His standing in the official World Golf ranking, OWGR, has plummeted dramatically. Once firmly inside the top 100 as recently as late 2024, Keenkin now finds himself languishing at number 325 in the world. Earlier in 2025, his ranking had even dipped as low as 425. A solid T12 finish at the US Open helped him climb a few rungs, but he will need a strong result in France if he hopes to reestablish himself among the games elite. Still, the road won’t be easy. While RDER Cup stars like Rory Mroy and John Rum will be busy at Beth Paige Black, Kepka isn’t walking into a soft field. Standing in his way will be several dangerous contenders. Fellow Liv Golf standout Adrien Moranc has enjoyed a stellar season and carries both form and confidence into France, making him one of the players Kepka must overcome. Beyond rising stars and established threats such as Kada Nakajuma, Ryan Fox, and Thomas Dry have each notched victories this year, adding more bite to the field. All three will arrive in France with momentum. Eager to add the FedEx open to France to their growing resumes. For Kepka, the stakes couldn’t be clearer. Regain form, climb the rankings, and prove he can still close out tournaments outside the LIV bubble. Hungry, motivated, and under pressure. The American will need every ounce of his trademark grit if he wants to walk away with the trophy in Saint Nam Labradesh.
