Jesus Christ saved my life both in both um eternally and even me standing here now. Yeah. Um there are a number of occasions including a car accident and and a number of things that have happened in my family. I’d hate to make a mistake and then have it cost me. 2023 unfortunately lost your tour card. I want to know what it’s been like trying to get back on tour. When I start drawing the ball it might be all right man. I ain’t scared of Brent dog. Let’s log in. I was pretty fortunate to play a couple of years during the co seasons. I got to make it from the fringe and I’ve made it before. So Jesus Christ saved my life. What’s good guys? Welcome to the episode of golf and gospel. I got the tour pro the homie here. Brent Grant. Brent, I’m going to let you know there three rules to the channel. One, I encourage you by Lil Jesus. I know you do. That’s why you homie. Two, you get one breakfast ball with the tea. Use it on hole one. Use it on hole eight. Seven. Just use it strategically. It’s like a challenge challenge card here. Perfect. And lastly, bro, you trying to roll some good putts, get back on tour. I’m trying to get better at putting there. No gimmies on the channel. You got to finish your putts. You perfect. Let’s run it. One implication here. You’re obviously a plus one handicap. Six. All right. And I’m 111. So, all I ask these nine holes is give me 10 stroke. All right. Cuz that gives you a challenge for what you working for. And that that makes me like I got to hold this lead, man. So cool. All right. Here we go, man. Yo, let’s get it. All right, Lord. Take the wheel. Cool. Now, I know some of y’all thinking, “Jeremy, we seen you play. You only asking for 10?” Yeah, dog. I’m only asking for 10. I’m trying to lock in, dog. I want the pressure. Perfect. Yep. Shoot. I might have to sit down, bro. Might be a little too pumped up. No, it’s good. That’s good. That’s good. That’s good. Oh, there we go. Let’s go, Jeremy. You need some swing tips on this one or you got it? I’m good, man. Oh, did my towel fall out? That’s weak. You have one? Thanks, man. Look at me, man. Just a regular guy. Cutting too much. Stay up a little bit. Give me the green though. They left. Yeah, I don’t know. It’s not terrible. All right, that’s fine. Getting that up and down. Yep. Nice drive. Thanks. But even a better drive is 40 yards up. First time playing here. It’s a pretty nice spot all the way up here in Cave Creek. A nice little 85 yd shot. Should land and well get somewhere near the hole. Oh, that was four. Good shot. Is that way short? Uh, maybe eight feet. I have to get this close in one putt. We all know that Grant’s a dog. Well, Brent’s a dog. Keep saying Grant because the cameraman name is Grant, but Brent’s last name is Grant. There we go. How about it? Dang it. Very nice. All right. Very nice. There we go. Good chip. Good chip. Hey, giving yourself an opportunity. That’s all I can ask for, man. That’s all you can do. I got to make up for my uh 0 and2 on the road against Germaine Kuren Tanner Lucky. Was that up north? One was in Minnesota. The other one was in Seattle. Little uphill right to left. See if we can start this off real nice. Oh, okay. John didn’t quite hit it. I got to hit this to keep it. Make sure that go in now. Hey dog. Hey, make sure that thing go in. Oh yeah, I told that. Yeah, make sure that thing go in, man. I only show grace once. You forget that rule. Oh goodness, that’s funny. Looks like it’s a subtle break to the left. Nothing crazy. I’m thinking right side of the cup here. Oh yeah, there we go. One down. All right, it’s good start. Good start. Here we go. Putting the pressure early. Hey dog. So, everyone loves the stories of the superstars, the Scotty Sherifflers, the Roy Maroy, and the guy who deciphered me, John Pepell, he wrote this book called the 53rd Man, because there’s also those people on the back end of roster that have very interesting stories and they grind just as much. You’re kind of in that similar position as the 53rd man. You play well on the corn ferry. You’ve achieved your PGA Tour card. I wanted you to talk about the grind of the cornfair tour as well as getting your PGA tour card and also your best finish at the Pakana Championships getting that T8. Yeah. Um that’s that’s a good point. I mean I think um obviously just like in football, you know, there’s a there’s kind of a conveyor belt, right, of guys that are always coming up, right? So competition level is is is there uh and it’s getting even even harder now. Uh these kids coming out of college are pretty incredible. Um I was pretty fortunate to play a couple of years during the co seasons obviously to to really kind of sharpen uh my game. Um and then obviously we were able to get to the PJ tour uh with that putt on on 18 in at Victoria which was unbelievable. I’ve seen that. Yeah, I seen that. Yeah. I mean, it was that was pretty crazy. Um, and went nuts and it was probably one of the coolest things I’ll I’ll ever achieve. But moving forward into the PJ tour season, obviously we had a couple of top 25s, a top 20 at uh Pebble Beach. Phenomenal final round with Victor Havland. Just I mean it was great, right? Um so great experiences all around. Then obviously at Punakana T8 top 10 finishes at the PJ tour is one of the hardest things to do in golf. Um so a great thing to do. Um, but honestly the grind throughout the whole time was was really um a mistake that I made. Actually, the gravest mistake that ended up costing me my card in general was thinking I had to do a whole bunch of things in order to stay there uh rather than just what sticking sticking with what got me there in the first place. So, that’s probably the hardest thing about uh tour golf in general is is kind of tuning out the voices and focusing on what you got to go do. Yeah, man. Well, let’s see if you can get your win on golf and gospel dog. Man, so far I’m still up 10 strokes technically. Got a nice little par three here, man. And this green is a bit tricky, man. But uh I think you I think you can conquer. I believe it. Here we go. Let’s see what we can do. Good, good, good. Still wind. Seems like little left. Get a little left. Oh, little too much club there. Apparently, it it’s safe back there, though. All right. Well, unless you obviously sent it into the trees, but looked like it bounced. All right. Safe play. Oh, yeah. Yep. I would say there’s nothing like being able just to grab your putter and just walk to the green. Usually, I would have a wedge in my hand. Best thing in golf, a long walk with the putter. Yeah. That’s going to be fun. Not a lot of green to work with. It’s going to be fun. Like, subscribe, dog. Come on. A green wreck. Y’all know the kid. Like, subscribe. All right. Little hop over the fringe down to the hole. Oh, dope. Rolled up the face on me. Good old Bermuda lies. Oh, wow. Oh, I say, man. Oh, that tried. I tried. That would have been sick. Had a I feel like you guys can do that at will. It definitely uh definitely seems that way sometimes for sure. I think honestly what it comes down to is just the idea that we’re not thinking about anything else. Yeah. Stay up. Oh, Jeremy putt. Positive selft talk. Yeah. I always say something optimistic. Boom. There we go. All right. Still there. Still there, man. Actually picked up a shot. Let me trust this hole, bro. Trust this hole. Starting to aim the ball more cuz I I never write with my feet. Okay. And I heard Luic Oberg says that. So shoot. No. Then close the face. It’s all right. I think that’s findable, bro. This is a mistake I made with with Cam. I didn’t use a breakfast ball. Oh, but I’mma I I think I’m okay. Well, according to Shot Tracer that was right down the middle. Now, I keep it honest. They going to see that push. My stock yardage is I hit my sand wedge 190 yards. Let’s see. What do I think about in my golf swing? Get back to the right heel and keep rotating the chest. All right, perfect. Sometimes it works like that, sometimes it doesn’t. So, you always been a believer? I would say I fully surrendered my life in uh 2012. Like I grew up a believer. Yeah. But I had so much work-based belief because uh down south black people just like got believe in God. But like the way my stepfather treated me, I just had like this I got to earn love so I don’t get beat or chastised. Nothing’s good enough. Yeah. And true, but not in that way. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ephesians 2:8, bro. Yeah. Um but then um this guy discipled me, John Pepetella. Yeah. He really helped break down the gospel for me in its full meaning. And that’s fantastic. Queen, I swear in my life. Praise God. Yep. I really just trying to punch out this area, but it sucks cuz that bunker’s there. You all right? Let’s see. That’s not good. And then so I just hit two. So am I hitting five? So you’re dropping three, hitting four. All right, hitting four, guys. Hopefully get it close and just take my medicine. I did gain a stroke though on the last hole. That’s good. Do it. Thank you. All right, great shot. Thank you. Little little break. Yeah. Like I know like obviously there’s money, there’s fame, there’s all these different things that all these athletes deal with, but you think it’s mostly upbringing that that kind of gets guys to struggle when they when they they find that I think it’s a part I think it’s a part of it. Yeah. I think um cuz most of these guys like you said I mean are all believers in some way. Well a lot of them are professed but fruits don’t match it at all. That’s fair. That’s fair. Yeah cuz I I would say at least in the locker room I was in bro. Yeah. Their only few is like they walk this thing out and not and I in our regards like perfectionism either just like if they feel like I see the Lord’s grace coming to the Lord and there’s some conviction there. Yeah. Other people it’s just like there’s a reverence for the Lord but there’s no obedience to him. Two different things. It’s It’s the idea of the Lord. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Interesting. All right. Knock this in. Come on, baby. I I need this bogey. I see a right to left breaker, guys. Maybe one cup. That was way farther than one cup. Nice. All right. Yeah. Double. Dang it. Yeah. I think you’re right. I think um it’s the idea of the Lord, right? Like the big man upstairs. Yeah. Yeah. But that’s not what God is at all. Yeah. Nice birdie. God dang it. Made up for the last hole. Yeah. And I gave you an extra one with the double. Yeah. That’s all right. All right. Here we go. Did it affect them on the field? You think? Who? Those players. Nah, I think some of them were just truly gifted. It just worked out for them. Yeah. Cuz it’s such a it’s like the the game itself is so like carnal, right? Like you can Oh, yeah. Yeah. For sure. A little bit more of a draw with the wind in the hole here. Started that bunker out in the distance. Turn over. Was so perfect. Little snapper, but that’ll work. All right, Jeremy, just close the face. Don’t shut it. Just a little bit. Learn. You think target ever? Huh? You think target ever? Yeah. That’s when I sit back here and I do this. I pick target. So then you just let it go. Yeah. All right. I like that. Yeah, I lost it. To win. Oh, that was a bad miss. Tend to win. That’s all right. Yeah, I was on my back foot. That’s okay. I mean, it fell. That’s kind of what it what it feels like, right? Like when you’re doing this, you’re all back here, right? And I got stuck. Yeah. So, obviously, uh, playing on the tour, man. What are some things you learn? Any interesting things from players or just maybe your time while being there? Personally, you learn a lot from guys because you spend so much time around them. You know, I I I I met guys that that, you know, like Tommy Fleetwood who who’s an elite player that was the nicest person ever. And I had no idea, right? Because you don’t you don’t get that from the outside perspective, right? You just see their golf. So, um you know, and another guy, phenomenal believer, Steuart Sink. I love Steuart, dog. That’s my guy. I love Steuart. So, he was actually uh one of the big reasons why I uh started going to CGF Bible studies. Wow. He came up to me uh at the end of the season at Windham and kind of tapped me on the shoulder and of course Steuart’s super tall, right? So I was looking up to him. I’m like, “What did I do?” You know, right? And he was like, “Well, I want your number so you can so I can invite you to Bible study.” So that was kind of that was kind of an amazing experience. And then on the golf side, um you just learn how to you learn how to play real golf. Yeah. And and that every shot really truly does matter. Um and so that toward that sort of experience is really what we what we rely on in in everything that we do. Yeah. Uh on the course because you know shots that that go ary it’s obvious why they go ary now. It’s not like some like you know crazy voodoo magic going on. It’s it’s literally happening right then and there. So yeah. I mean there’s a bunch that we could talk about for sure, but that was kind of on the personal side. I met a bunch of good guys and on the golf side I just became more mature. That is sick. Hey, I’m hitting Steuart up after this dog. He’s the man. We’ll text him right now. Yeah, that guy’s the man. Yeah, his wife, Lisa, is Oh my gosh, I love I spent so much time with her and him. It was It was amazing. Yeah, I love Lisa, man. In the airport. I went I went and watched um him play at the US Senior Open. He was so close. He had Yeah. Who won that? Padre Harrington. Did he really? Yeah. Yeah. There’s the draw. Oh, they drew. Yeah. Little shut. That’s all Sorry. Good distance control. One putt. Yep. But kind of like what you were saying though, it’s like you would never know who’s a believer and who’s not. A guy like like Ben Crane’s a perfect example. Yeah. Babucati. Unbelievable. Believer. Just steadfast. I you’d never know. Yeah. You’d never know. Yeah. Um and so it’s interesting, right? Like you have to balance that idea of professing Christ. Yeah. living through Christ, having Christ be everything, but also at the same time be selfish in what you’re doing. Yeah. Oh, yeah. In sport. Yeah. Like, how do you do that? Yeah. Should be about 30 yards. Going to land it just over that little slope. You got to be all about. Apparently, it’s going to run ft. A inch to the right is in the hole. Well, can’t have everything, I guess. All right. Left or right? Thinking stay high side here. Trust this line. I want to move but trust it. Oh, bad bounce. It’s a good putt. It’s a good putt. I’ll finish. All right, take your time. It’s a good putt. Very nice. Good par. That’s why I struggled with that a lot over the last beginning part of this year. Yeah. It’s like, how do I follow Christ? But then also play a game that forces you to literally be as selfish as as you can be. Yeah. Oh, what a read. Oh, he comes back, folks. Good job, man. Dang it. Comes clawing back. Yeah. Almost drove the green with a 3-wood. I know. But to answer your question, too. Yeah. Cuz me and my friends, we talk about this all the time. Like I have to be selfish in football cuz I don’t want this dude to make the team. Even though I’m supposed to be selfless. Yeah. Yeah. But when we think about Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work wholeheartedly as the Lord and my man.” Yes. I have a responsibility to display my talent. Correct. And wherever the Lord will outside of that, if I make the team, then let it be done. Let it be done. Let it be done. Yeah. At that point, let it be done. So, in other words, work hard. Everything else will take care of itself. Yeah. if it’s part of his will, which we hope that it is. Well, selfishly, but if it isn’t, we can rely that it’s going to be good for us. All things work for the go those of the good, excuse me, the good of those that believe in Jesus Christ. Yeah. What is that? Revelation chapter 20. I something. Yeah. I’m so bad at that. I just train myself to memorize scripture. I have a short-term memory. So, for me, hey, it’s just like it’s just like golf. I forget about what I did on the last hole. Yeah. Just like golf, though. Think about how often you practice to really get like a feel or or a swing down. Same thing with scripture. Just got to repeatedly just continue to tell yourself and remind yourself cuz it matters. Yeah. Cuz like Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” So to do that, I have to continue to practice his word. So it does dwell in me. Yes. So I can have it memorized. Not and not for knowledge either, just for my walk. It’s the spiritual food that we need. It’s what sustains us. Right. Yeah. Fade just a couple of yards. Guess we’ll go up there and find it. Let’s see. A little something something. Little right pin here. Yeah. Perfect for you. Come on. Dial one up with that fade. Yeah, for sure. Oh yeah. Shoot. That was towy. A little stuck. Let’s get up and down. Shoot. Jeremy, we got that. I want to land it on the fringe. Let it roll out. I believe Brent’s gonna make a birdie here. I gotta be too aggressive. French, get up here. Get up here. All right. Got a putt at it. Very nice. Thanks. It’s tough to hit it hard enough out of that rough. Yeah. Damn. Uhoh. It’s freaking tour pros, man. And I got to make this one. But it’s got the speed down, folks. Yeah. Yeah. [Music] I was going to say you got to smoke it. Gosh, these are good putts. Oh yeah, these are good putts. Got to get that speed up a little bit. Yeah. So, you know about the grain and stuff, right? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. You got to hit greens. You’re pin high. You’re pin high. It’s a little stuck. I’m telling you that that little bit, it’s going to change you a little bit. It’s a reminder I need cuz you got the leg action for it, which is great. Yeah. It’s just you’re kind of over here ready, man. So, unfortunately in sport, we do face a lot of challenges, man. It it comes with what we do in the occupation. In 2023, you unfortunately lost your tour card. I want to know what it’s been like trying to get back on tour and what has the Lord taught you with losing something like that? Yeah. So, big thing happened at the end of 2023. Um I I found out that I was going to be a dad. Uh ended up getting ended up getting married. Kind of the shotgun wedding kind of deal. But I knew I could not be the father nor the husband without Christ. So that was kind of what really started my conscious journey with with Christ. So all of 2024, you know, I’m battling back and forth with the flesh and and and making stupid mistakes all while on the cornfair tour trying to get back to the PJ tour. And for whatever reason, obviously it’s God’s plan, but we end up falling even further off of the off of the corner tour. And so basically I’m in a position now where I haven’t been since 2019. So literally at the bottom of the ladder trying to trying to to climb all the way back up. Um so the biggest challenge and we talked about this earlier is like the identity of who you are as an athlete, right? Is impossible to separate for most people, right? So I’m sitting there going, I’m a golfer. Everything I do is golf. I can’t even live without this thing. I’m a golfer, right? when Christ tells us and has transformed thankfully uh my spirit and who I am to a son of God and and obviously the most high. So golf is meaningless. Yes. But what I’ve been blessed to know is I’m getting better at it. So not only internally my heart, my soul uh is transforming through Christ, but Christ is literally also transforming what I do uh on the planet. So um it’s unbelievable. And over the last couple of months, I’ve I’ve really grown a lot with him, but also at the same time, my golf game has grown as well. So, yeah, we’re taking this the last couple of years, looking at them as learning experiences, opportunities for Christ, uh to live through me, um and then just just giving it to him and and so uh while they have been challenges, uh like I mentioned, but I’m I’m good, man. Yeah. So, the thing that’s amazing about them, we talked about this at the range, Paul’s writing letter from prisons in Philippians 4. In Philippians 4:11, he says, “Not dying in need, but in whatever situation I’m in, I learn to be content.” So even in the midst, not you’re not in prison, but you’re going through molding you and you’re learning how to be content in these moments, man. I think that’s huge for the audience to know like that takes a practice. Like when in James 2 when it talks about counter all joy when Charles is like that takes practice, dog. A lot of practice, man. But you look great today, man. We got this par4 right here. You almost drove the green with your three wheel. I might get close on this one. Yeah. Let’s see what you got here, dog. Stay on target. Bounce target. Didn’t do either of those things. Okay, it’s up there somewhere in the fairway. I just switched clubs. We’re against the wind here. Much better. Much much better. Beautiful. 81 out. Into the wind. Into the wind. No bird. No bird here. Yes. Forget that crow, man. Crows is a loser. Is it on here? It was this hole. Yeah. Oh, goodness gracious. That’s funny. That is so good. That was really good. Yep. Sit down. That’s fine. I got you. That’s front pin though. So Oh, that’s beautiful. That’s beautiful. Honestly, the move through the ball with these little short shots is is kind of what you need to feel with everyone. To my dog Jonathan Liss. This is the second episode if if y’all remember the episode I had with Daniel Cases. I got a lesson with Jonathan Liss with some iron stuff and I was striking irons kind of evident today too. So Jonathan Liss Range Performance, shout out to you, bro. I don’t think I’ve ever got this many green eggs on episode before either. It’s like a little uphill up to the hole, but off the green it looks like it goes down. So Oh, checked up. Dang it. Missed my target by about a yard. Oh well. Downhill with the grain. Nice. Should hold a little right. Should hold a little right. Come on, Jeremy. These are good putts, dog. You’re ready to green. Oh, I got a fall. Nicely done, sir. Thanks. Great speed. Thank you. So, it’s always going to go in the direction of where it where it is where the grain is at the end of the putt. Okay, that’s okay. Nice. Okay. No wonder why you just made three birdies in a row. Yeah, I grew up on this stuff. Oh, hopped in there. But that’ll work. The good news is like you only have a couple holes left. I’m controlling my my misses and my mistakes, but he’s making birdie every single time. Oh, man. All right, next one’s par five. Still hasn’t used his breakfast ball yet. I haven’t I haven’t be happening on the next one. Well, right to left wind, but left to right hole. I want to get as much out of this as I can. And that bunker is like 400 yards from here. That would be the steroid jerk. Oh boy. That’s That might be out there a ways. Few football fields from here. I think the thing is, Jeremy, you don’t have to do the same thing, bro. Oh, don’t chase it. You don’t have to. It’s all psychological. Yep. You do not have to bomb it. I could beat you by one on every hole. Well, it wouldn’t matter. You’d still beat me if I continue to play good. Oh, that’s okay. It’s good. It’s going to be in that like gravel area. I love the confidence. Yeah. I just know where to miss here. Dang it. Who would you say was the most fruitful of the guys that you ran into in the NFL? Oh, in NFL. Okay. I thought I said I had on the show. Okay. You going to say on the show? Oh, we can get there. Amy Olsen. Dog. Amy made me feel like I got saved again. I always say that. Yeah. So, the most fruitful person in the league that you ran into, man, I hate this. Hunter Henry. Okay. Tight end for the Patriots now. I think going into year 10. Good for Hunter. Man, when I was on the Charge, we both were part of this thing called UTC Ultimate Training Camp. Do action. So, Hunter Henry, who else was super fruitful? There’s a lot of guys now, they love Jesus. It was kind of like their their sanctification moment when they were in the league. So, they weren’t fully there, but like Hunter was fully surrendered to the gospel. Uh, this guy named Trevan Wade who lives out here in Arizona. We played corner when I was on the Giants together. When we were on the Giants together, Prince. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Those are the three that my head really mindset guys. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then like a lot of guys who took time like they were being sanctified, they going like my boy Tyrell is like my best friend fully surrendered to the gospel. Now, do you think the NFL is kind of like where these guys have that opportunity to make the choice? I think a lot of guys do it after because they feel like they’re so empty without the sports like what and that that was in Tyrell’s case. He was really trying as a player but like a lot of guys like Dan after I’m done playing like what is there now? They have no choice. So, they’re empty. Yes. Yes. Now, some guys they learn how to be dependent on the Lord while in the league and then they come fully surrender. But yeah, a lot of guys when they’re done, it’s like what what’s now I I’ve learned to see that football isn’t everything completed me. But you you so so finding guys that had surrendered already is rare. It was tough if when you talk about fully fully surrendered, it was tough. Yeah. I’m not full squeaking this hybrid. I just want to get back into a relatively good distance here. Trust his club, Jeremy. No. Okay, it got through. Yeah, I know. It’s a principle. I didn’t like fully swing cuz I I ain’t trusting. Let me Let me drink water. Left to right wind. Because most of the green is on the left side. I’m going to aim to the left and hit a fade. Ah, pulled it. Pulled it. Knowing me, I was probably aimed left. Thing that’s crazy about tour pros, y’all be like, “Ah, dang it.” And it’s just a bad miss on the green. For what I had, that’s not bad. It might be bunker. Did it go in the bunker? You see it? I think it’s so I think so. Yeah. For what I had, I I’m I’m happy with that shot. See, that was not the spot I wanted. That’s right. It’s a tough shot. Tough shot. Dang it. Really tough shot. Yeah. Uh-oh, folks. Big G’s got a par putt from 20 plus feet on a par five too. Kind of uphill across the range here. Should break right at the end any day now. Any any like No. Oh yeah. Sit. Oh turn. It’s a good putt. Very nice. Good putt. Of course. Well, I can’t three pot. I mean, yeah, you can’t. I can’t. All right. All right. Oh, man. Nice. All right, Jim. You can miss right, but we don’t want like nothing crazy. All right, so this is kind of one of those things, right? So like that building, you want this thing to finish what? Greenside bunker on the left. Maybe even a little further right than that. Yeah. So the idea is that you know it’s going to fade. So you’re hitting it. It’s going to start middle of that building, right? Yeah. That’s why I aim it as my main. Perfect. Love it. I’m I’m cool with that miss. It’s a It’s a lane over there. Yeah, I’ll have a shot to the hole. That’s fine. I love the immediate positive thought. I love that. I think a lot more uh a lot more golfers could could learn how to do that. I think part of it, too, there’s not a $20 million person online. Shoot. This is a not a good spot. I got hit. I’m going to take a five and hit like a low bump and run. I say you hit a fade. So, I don’t know if I can get it around that tree that quick. You mean up over it? Not over it, but like even if I just want to hit a low one like you. I don’t I don’t know how to do that. Not Oh, dang it. Sit down. Sit. I just wanted to join you. That’s all right. Guess we needed to be a little bit further right for this pin location, but we got about 58 yards. Got a slope that we got to cover. And it looks like got a little plateau just left of it. Go. Gosh darn it, Brent. Always just a little too short with these shots. That was not what we needed. Don’t lose speed through. Carry speed through the club. That seemed good. That’s very good. Thank you. Tough shot. Crazy part about it is I’m actually okay that I came up short because for like the last five years I’ve hit every single one of those shots too far. Yeah. So, what I’m doing is actually good because it means that all I got to do is take the club back a little further rather than relying on speed to change how far the ball goes. Oh, don’t do it to him. Don’t do it to him. Okay. Okay. That have been that have been a little rude. Swipe the streak. Yeah, broke the street. Ah. Oh, it might. I know. It didn’t turn like I thought. It’s a good putt. It’s another boat. Now you’re down two. Down one, I think. Down one. Yep. Oh, yeah. You want this? Going into the last hole. This is And this is This is real golf. This ain’t fake golf, dog. This ain’t fake golf. All right. Going into the last hole, dog. I’m up one stroke. This is probably my best golf, truth be told. But Brent’s a dog. He’s been burying everything. I don’t know if we’re going to force a playoff. I would love to outright win right here. I have to have some ice in my face. Here we go. Here we go. This is going to be interesting. How am I Why am I nervous? Here we go. Hey, golfing gospel ain’t no joke, dog. It’s not like we’re going to do Oklahoma drills or anything like that. This is ridiculous. Making it feel like you got to make the cut line. Well, I’ve been there. This is more of like a giddy nervousness. Even more excited to force a playoff than I am to win on this hole. I’d hate to make a mistake and then have it cost me. Great shot. That gets an okay kick. That might be kind of close when I start drawing the ball. It might be might be some good things happening on the horizon. All right, man. I ain’t scared of Brent, dog. Let’s lock in. Jeremy, sit. Stay short. Leave it alone. Wind stay. Dang it. Thankfully, we know you’re living for the right reason. So, it’s going to be interesting to see where that ends up, right? You were baptized not too long ago by the homie Eie Marzette. Marzette. Marzette. Yeah, man. And we know that baptism is is a public declaration to show your salvation, correct? To Jesus, man. What led you to that conviction of getting baptized? It was a conviction from me thinking that I had to sanctify myself to get baptized. Yeah. Um very my very thoughts were giving me trouble. Mhm. And Anthony pulled me aside and and with you know with with the spirit in his heart and and and uh on his lips he was like listen if you think that you can get ready for baptism you’re missing the point. But if you’re done with your self, Yeah. with your flesh, with your life, that’s when you should be baptized. Yeah. So really understanding that you can’t control your thoughts, right? Nobody can control each one of those random things that just pump by like on a on a movie screen, right? But you can control the decisions you make. And that’s where sin or righteousness is is found, right? So having that misunderstanding was kind of was was draining on me for a couple months. I was basically depressed. Yeah. I was like like I’m in the midst of my relationship with Christ, but I’m miserable. And it’s because of the misunderstanding, of course, cuz Christ is love, right? So um and so he was like, “You should get baptized.” And then um we had been talking about it for about a year. Uh but like I said, I had that misunderstanding. And then once Anthony kind of cleared that up for me, it was just like, “Okay, yeah, let’s do it.” And so we stood in the pool, my father on my right, um and my my pastor Anthony on the left, my dad ran uh read Psalm 23. Um and he was in tears and I gave my testimony. And obviously Anthony did what what all spiritled pastors do. Um and he brought the whole crew together. My my wife and my mother and my son were there. My coach Tony was there. Even though he’s not a believer believer, I want him to be there. Yeah, for sure. Then uh Anony’s family and such. So yeah, unbelievable experience and uh but it is not me. Yeah, but Christ that lives through me. Amen. Uh hope Christ can live through me on this shot right here. You don’t need it. [Music] Perfect. Sit down, please. Chill out a little bit. There a little bit of grass over there, I think. Oh, it’s still going. God dang it, Jeremy. I got some uh thinking to do. All right. Well, Jeremy apparently is pondering the meaning of life over there. So, we are in what’s known as the mayor’s office. Oh, little deep. Little deep. Old habits poking through. Oh, yeah. Get up a little bit. Just another yard. Dang it. That’s all right. That was a really high IQ shot for me and I’m happy about that. I got to make it from the fringe and I’ve made it before so I’m big confident I’m gonna make it again. Well, uh, this is to force him to make to tie the match. If he if I when I make because we don’t use ifs. When I make this, he’s going to have to make to tie. And if he misses, I win. And I didn’t get it there. Okay. Didn’t get it there. Didn’t go in the hole. That’s pretty simple. Oh, we didn’t want to see that, folks. We didn’t want to see that. Shoot. Fell back a little bit on that one. Yeah. Oh, man. Well, I’d hate to be the commentator, but this needs to go in the hole. Needs to go in the hole. Come on, Jeremy. Go. That was such a good putt. Gave it all you got. I did. I did. Sorry. Lock in. Make this one. That hurts. It hurts a lot. I really limited my mistakes all day until this hole. I just I just kind of called it there. Yeah. It don’t matter. I make this though. And Well, shoot. That hurts. Got the camera guy distracting me over here. All right, man. Uh, you took the dub, man. Good job. I, uh, I don’t have the ice in me like that. However, uh, the most important thing of this channel is indeed the gospel. I want people to come on here and see entertaining golf, see us, talk about some fun things, but ultimately come to have questions about Jesus or hopefully come to fully surrender to him. So my question to you is who is Jesus to you and why do you hope someone comes to give their life to him? Jesus Christ saved my life both in both um eternally and even me standing here now. Yeah. Um there are a number of occasions including a car accident and and a number of things that have happened in my family in the past where if if one degree is different than than what it was, you know, I’m I’m not standing here. So, um, and not only that, but we know that he he paid for that life that he saved. So, um, he’s my father, he’s my friend, um, he’s everything that that that one needs in order to um, be fulfilled. Yeah. And so, um, the great the greatest thing the greatest thing that I can that I can share with somebody that I would love to see, uh, come to Christ would be peace. Yeah. True peace and and and not any theological jargon. Uh, not any battle about who’s right or who’s wrong. Um, but just a relationship with somebody that knows everything about you, past, present, and future. Amen. And has loved you anyways. That’s awesome, man. Again, appreciate you coming on. Uh, hey guys. Appreciate you guys watching this episode of Golf and Gospel. I took another L. I got to get back in the lab. I think I played pretty solid. So interesting what he said about him playing a different game when he made the tour and playing like he had to prove something instead of just playing his game. Also Brent was paired with viktor at pebble so I’m jealous.
Brent's wedges are on point. I'm also glad he can read grain lol
