The cameras zoom in, and yes, it’s sitting right on a spectator’s stomach. The crowd bursts out laughing. After the awkward moment, Penge receives relief and prepares to continue. But wait, the rules official suddenly stops playing. The problem, the drop location. After checking with a marshall in red, the official explains the rule. Under rule 11.1, the reference point is not where the ball rolled off the man’s stomach, but where he was actually lying on the ground. So Penge has to redo the drop before finally continuing the hole.
