Clogher Valley Golf Club’s Presidents Day event saw Alan Mc Keown notch up consecutive competition wins.
The club’s president, Maurice Coulter, hosted the event on the weekend of August 15 and 16, with the course in great condition and favourable weather.

Mr Mc Keown was the standout performer in the men’s competition, scoring 38 points.

This win marked his second consecutive victory, showcasing his current top form.
Captain Martin Breen came close but ultimately finished second on countback, just ahead of Kevin King.
James Colhoun, with a commendable 73, claimed the gross prize, while Donald Egerton and Tom Rice won the front nine and back nine, respectively.

Other winners included Raymond Farrell, who took the past Presidents’ prize, and Eugene Rooney, who won the Committee prize.
Niall Mc Kenna claimed the nine-hole juvenile prize.
In the ladies’ section, Gillian Chartres returned to form with a 36-point win, five points clear of runner-up Rosie Scullion.

Sean McCaughey deserves a special mention for his hole in one on the par three seventeenth hole.
President Maurice’s dinner and presentation will take place in October.
Additional winners included Alan Mc Keown again, who claimed the Credit Union Open Stroke with a 65 nett.

David Willis (72 nett) and Andy Little (67 nett) won the 0-15 and 16-24 categories, respectively.

In the ladies’ section, Betty Monaghan and Irene Kennedy Mullan were the top performers, with Betty winning on countback.
In the Diabetic Awareness Open, Derek Browne secured victory with 39 points.
Margaret Murphy was the winner in the ladies’ section with an impressive 44 points.
The club also congratulated the Lawson Cup team, who secured victory over Aughnacloy in the final.
However, the O’Haire Cup team was less fortunate, losing out to Fintona in the final.
