We are less than two weeks away from the 2025 Ryder Cup, so it’s finally time to dive into some betting odds for the event.
It’s been two years since Team Europe beat Team USA 16.5 – 11.5 in Rome, making it the fifth straight Ryder Cup where the home team came away victorious.
With the event taking place at Bethpage Black Golf Course in Long Island, NY, Team USA is the favourite on FanDuel, priced at -145 to win for the third straight time on home soil.
The last time the away side won a Ryder Cup was in 2012 at Medinah Country Club in Illinois, when Europe won the Sunday singles session 8.5-3.5 to steal a one-point victory in what is known as The Miracle at Medinah.
Europe has won 10 of the past 14 Ryder Cups and returns 11 of the 12 players from the winning 2023 team. However, the last Ryder Cup in America saw Team USA win by a massive 10-point margin, their largest size of victory in the event since 1967 when they played Great Britain.
There are lots of storylines to follow and bets to consider, and I’ll have you covered over the next two weeks with everything you need.
There’s no better place to start than a bet on the No. 1 golfer in the world, so let me get to some Scottie Scheffler action.

A bet on Scottie Scheffler to lead Team USA in points at Bethpage
Keegan Bradley is the captain of Team USA, but the leader of the squad on the golf course will be World No. 1 Scheffler.
The 27-year-old American has taken his career to new heights since the last Ryder Cup, winning three majors and 10 other PGA Tour events since that event in Rome.
He enters this Ryder Cup as the best player in the world without any question. He also enters with a chip on his shoulder.
Scheffler, playing alongside five-time major winner Brooks Koepka, was handed the worst beatdown in the history of the event, losing 9-and-7 in the third session of the 2023 Ryder Cup to Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg.
The loss was the largest margin of defeat for an 18-hole match, foursomes or otherwise, in the history of the Ryder Cup. And it left Scheffler in tears.
Scheffler in tears is going to stick with me. Some guys play bad and hide afterwards; Scottie felt embarrassed and angry yet labored through the pain because he felt being there for his teammates was important, which says more about him than any score pic.twitter.com/u5D8nO7ULn

Now Scheffler gets a chance to return the favour on home soil.
It’s amazing how quickly things change in golf. The last time this event was held in America Scheffler barely made the team as the 12th man.
At the time, Scheffler was 25 and had yet to win on the PGA Tour. However, a 2-0-1 Ryder Cup, which included taking down World No. 1 Jon Rahm in Sunday Singles, catapulted Scheffler into a new stratosphere. Suddenly he’s a 19-time PGA Tour winner with four major championships on his resume.
I constantly look back on Sunday at the 2021 Ryder Cup as a turning point in golf. Team USA sent out its 12th man, Scottie Scheffler, vs. World No. 1 Jon Rahm. Scottie was written off as a sacrifice. He then demolished Rahm 4&3.
And he’s been the best in the world ever since. pic.twitter.com/S6oxvQKSDZ

This brings me to 2025.
Scheffler is priced at +290 on FanDuel to lead Team USA in points, and it’s a number I have circled for several reasons.
The first is opportunity. Scheffler has played in two Ryder Cups and has yet to play all five matches in one. I believe that will change this year.
With five opportunities in front of him, and plenty of questions around the top dogs on the American side, it seems like Scheffler has the inside track to lead this team in points.
Here is a look at the top five on the team in odds, followed by my main concern with all of them.

Is Bryson DeChambeau going to bring his best stuff to Bethpage?
The LIV Golf star is just one of three LIV players playing in the event, with Europeans’ Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton suiting up for the other team.
The LIV Golf season ended last month, Rahm and Hatton both played in a DP World Tour event last week to knock off rust. In fact, 21 of the 24 players in the event played last week but Bryson wasn’t one of them.
Since the end of the LIV season, DeChambeau has spent his days filming content for YouTube and trying to hit trick shots in his house for social media.
Are we sure he’s showing up with his best stuff? Bryson also plays his own version of a golf ball that’ll make it difficult to find him a partner for alternate shot. Considering how important the two-time major winner is to this team, his lack of prep in the buildup to the event has me concerned about his level.
Moving on, we have the duo of Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.
Similar to Bryson, Schauffele hasn’t played in a competitive event since August. He skipped last week’s Procore Championship after the birth of his son.
After a down 2025 season, I’m not rushing to back Schauffele in this event, which could see him sit one or two of the foursomes sessions.
As for Cantlay, I’m already worried about his partner (Schauffele) in alternate shot, and he nearly missed the cut at last week’s fall event on the PGA Tour after a disappointing summer.
Rounding out the top five is Russell Henley at +1000.
Henley will more than likely play both alternate shot sessions with Scheffler, however with this his first Ryder Cup, so I don’t see captain Keegan sending out the 36-year-old in all five sessions. Still, at this price I would consider Henley over the other three names on this list if you don’t want to play Scottie.
With lots of questions surrounding the entire team, I’m comfortable playing Scheffler to lead Team USA in points, event at the low price of +290.
