The Club Company, the UK’s leading golf club operator, is teaming up with radio and TV presenter Jenni Falconer in support of The Menopause Charity to launch a month-long programme of events aimed at inspiring and supporting women before, during and after menopause.
Taking place throughout October, The Club Company’s Let’s Talk Menopause campaign will raise vital funds for The Menopause Charity to ensure more people can access trusted information and support.
There around 34 symptoms of menopause. They range from anxiety to acne, brain fog to tinnitus, mood swings to migraines. Research has shown that as many as one-in-10 women leave their jobs due to menopause symptoms. Alongside this, 50% of women say that menopause impacts their home life and 44% experience three or more severe symptoms. However, staying active, doing exercise and eating the right foods has scientifically proven to ease menopause symptoms, from loss of muscle mass, decreased bone density and a lack of energy to feelings of increased anxiety, depression and trouble sleeping.
Jenny Haskey, CEO of The Menopause Charity, commented: “Let’s tee up this hugely important conversation about menopause. In the office. At the school gates. Even on the golf course. Why? Because half the population experiences menopause. And it affects everyone – partners, friends, family, colleagues. So we really need to talk about it. It doesn’t matter where you do it. It’s time to take a swing at this taboo, today. Let’s get the menopause conversation out into the open this month”.
