MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Nicholls State University men’s golf team improved its score each round in the Grover Page Classic, capping off the event with a 1-under 283 on Tuesday to tie for 11th place.

Leading the way in the final round were Kyle Traub and Chase Pochylko who both shot 3-under 68. Traub sank eight birdies in his Tuesday round while Pochylko carded six. As a team, Nicholls totaled an 858 for the three rounds after shooting 290 and 285 on Monday.

Traub was the top finisher on the leaderboard for the Colonels, tying for 26th after ending the event at 2-under. His opening round was highlighted by an eagle as he shot even and then he totaled a 72 in his second 18.

Pochylko finished with a 212 to tie for 32nd and vaulted 22 spots after his final round of 68. He was also even through the opening round before turning in a 72, helped by an eagle.

James Bould had a 1-under 70 and totaled a 218 while Jack Moro and Alston Manne finished with 221s. Dylan Weber competed as an individual and shot a 223.

UP NEXT

Nicholls will head to Florida to take part in the Sandestin Collegiate. The three-day event will begin on Monday, Sept. 22.
