Huh? Who me? What do you have any advice on how I can make my putting stroke a little bit more consistent? Welcome back to 15-minute golf drills. Today, we’re going to be talking about how we can make our putting stroke a little bit more consistent without necessarily working on the stroke itself. We’re going to be talking about our lower body. Now, one of the biggest problems that I see with a lot of people struggling with their putting is their lower body moves all over the place. You guys are doing that dance from the 1950s where you’re like doing the twist. Stop that. Don’t do that. All that you’re going to need to do this is your putter, an alignment stick, and a golf ball. We’re going to take this alignment stick and thread it through our front two belt loops. If you’re not wearing shorts or pants with belt loops, go put some on. If you’re not wearing shorts or pants at all, that’s your own problem. Once you’ve got this alignment stick through your belt loops, it should look something like this. All I need you to do is set up in your normal putting stance and we’re going to start by just taking a few practice strokes. Your whole goal is to not let this alignment stick move at all. So throughout the entire stroke, no matter how big the putt is, can you put a putting stroke on it where that alignment stick doesn’t wiggle at all. Want to see any type of this when we’re out there putting? That’s going to make your speed and everything very difficult to control. If you’re new to this, definitely start with a shorter putt. That gets easier, go ahead and take it to some lag putts all the way across the green as far as you want. And as you get used to it, go ahead and hit some putts. We just don’t want this thing to move at all. That thing nudged just a little bit to the right inside. That sucks. Anyh who, point still stands. Once you’ve hit quite a few putts with this alignment stick through your belt loops, I’m going to give you a little trick that’s gonna sound really weird. Bear with me because it works. If you’re still struggling keeping your legs perfectly still, here’s what I want you to do. We’re going to narrow our stance a little bit and I want you to turn your feet inwards and go a little pigeon toad. I know you’re probably gonna look a little bit weird, but it will make your hips calm down a lot. No, you don’t need to go crazy and point them as far in as you can get them. Narrow it up a little bit. Point your toes a little bit inwards. It’ll start to lock out your hips. Then hit a few. It’ll work. Promise. Give it a try. Make sure to like, comment, follow, share for more. Let me know in the comments down below what you want to talk about tomorrow.
