thoughts on today’s match. Um maybe ask me questions. It’s going to be easier. Matt, been a pretty good summer for you. Um didn’t end the way you wanted to. Uh does it take a while after a match like this and for you to sort of have that perspective on the qu the quality of the last few months and the results that you put up? Um no because like I know what I achieved so I can’t like erase it because I lost today. Um, yeah. So, I kind of I’m aware and also yeah, like I couldn’t win today’s match playing like that, serving like that and with Amanda being so aggressive on the returns. Um, so I kind of get it. Jamani, that was kind of my question just how how do you feel you played today? What were you kind of least satisfied with with your performance? Well, um, from the baseline, I felt it was it was good. Um, but yeah, I think the ser made the difference. She was winning, I guess, more points from her serve and I struggled a bit to sometimes make the first serve in and uh, and she returned the ball from second serve. So, I guess that made a difference. How is it for you going into a match where the last time you played someone pretty recently to 60 6 and how how is that to prepare for uh going into a match and saying they’re going to do something different but not knowing maybe exactly what kind of it’s an unusual situation to to have honestly well it didn’t really matter for me um like I think everybody knows how Amanda can play. Yeah, she didn’t play well on Wimbledon, but it’s not like she always gonna do the same mistakes or feel the same. So, um, no, I I know that she’s a good player. She can play great tennis. So, for me, I was like ready for a tough match and yeah, she won. So, um, I guess yeah, it didn’t matter. Just how how challenging is it when the match before your goes four hours. Does it throw off your routine or is that a factor at all? No. Um, you have to be ready for that on a grand slam. Um, it’s not convenient especially when the not befores are they don’t make sense. Like you have to be ready to play at one anyway because you have not before one. Um, but then you wait because obviously how many times men’s match is going to finish in like one and a half hour or something, right? So, um, just that’s tennis. You have to adjust to that. No point to overthink it. Hi, Ego. Tough luck today. Can you describe how different Amanda was in as an opponent today compared to the Wimbledon final? Did her ball feel different to you? What What was different? Well, she played in. Um, it was totally different. Yeah. Um, but as I said, like it’s not a surprise. is I practice with her. I know how she can play. Um and yeah, it was totally different. Like she moved better, she played better. Yeah, everything was different. David, yeah. Talking about the issues with the serve, do you chalk that up to maybe just feeling out of rhythm today or was that maybe the pressure that Amanda was putting on you with return? Uh, no. I think I kind of maybe didn’t serve the best throughout the whole tournament, but I think because she returned so well that you could see, you know, um, the bigger difference. Um, but on the other hand, like I wasn’t practicing in between matches anyway. So, I kind of have to let it go and just focus on next one. David Um ju just generally it’s it’s been a a lot of tennis the last few weeks. Wimbledon uh the American tournaments leading up to this that now this. How tired are you at the moment? Well, I don’t know. Like it’s not like my matches were exhausting here. Do you feel like you need like a mental break? I’m not talking about the loss as such. Why would you say that? I just wondered, you know, it’s it’s just a lot a lot in the row, you know. Do do you look forward to a break or people responsible for the schedule? We need to adjust. Do you need mental break? Sorry. Do you look like you need mental break? I do. Yeah. Well, then what are you doing here? Well, got to get to the end of the tournament. Good luck. What are your thoughts about what Amanda how she processed the defeat at Wimbledon and came back from that? Well, I don’t know how she did that cuz I’m not her like you need to ask her uh about the whole process. But I guess in tennis like you’re you will get like heartbreaking glasses and you don’t have other option. You just have to move on and try to play good next time.

I don’t think the question was rude at all. She’s been playing nonstop since Wimbledon and even started early with mixed doubles. Asking about mental fatigue after such a long season is totally fair. Even Sabalenka skipped Montreal because of it. I've often seen these players get defensive when someone mentions mental fatigue as if you are calling them weak. I think she just got unnecessarily confrontational.
These questions seemed perfectly normal. She seemed to come into room with an attitude.
What are these questions? lol
Reacting like that to Journalists is a huge sign that Iga is having a tough year. There was too much pressure after last year.
She ain't Serena
Get well Iga, heal that injury and come back stronger
Iga behaving like an immature child. She got spanked and can't deal with losing. Other tennis players openly discuss their mental health struggles, and Iga gets triggered by the question. Sad she was so disrespectful towards someone asking such a simple question!
0:35 she definitely wanted to say I know I double bageled her before lol
If she's confrontational and snappy about answering a question regarding taking a mental health break, she likely needs a mental health break… however, she's complained about the exhausting WTA schedule for months now… so maybe she's just physically tired… and tired of not being heard… and tired the reporter attempted to reframe it as a mental health issue.
Iga needs a mental break. That's why she got so touchy. Would be easier to just talk about how Amanda played so well.
i'm so happy iga is out
Iga please be polite and answer every question with kindness.
Doping is not working.😂
Ugh, what’s the point of these press conferences? Blah blah blah, the same questions every time.
someone's a bit grumpy 😉 It was still a great Grand Slam year. Go for Australia, Iga. I would love to see the career grand slam.
Thank you Iga !!
What a dumb broad.
Iga played a great tournament and she handled the British fellow's question well.
Llllloooooooosssssssseeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr😢
Iga has won 6 slams the most out of the active players on your. If she doesn’t win another grand slam title she’s still had a great career. She’s smaller than most of her contemporaries and doesn’t hit the ball as hard as Sabalenka, Anisimova, Keyes, Gauff. However she has other qualities her footwork. She reminds me of Henin who was small but still won several grand slam titles.
sounds like she doesn't want to answer questions ! it's part of her job, strange woman !
