SEATTLE – The Washington women’s golf team opened up the 2025-26 season right at home on Monday as the Huskies played 18 holes at Chambers Bay Golf Course.

The Huskies were led by Carmen Lim, who sits in a tie for 12th at the Leadership & Golf Invitational. The senior put up back-to-back 73s, highlighted by six birdies.

Eastern Michigan and San Jose State lead the tournament as the only two teams under par. Oregon State (+2) and Grand Canyon (+18) are right behind and Washington rounds out the top five teams.

“We got off to a good start today and made some good progress both in some things we could control and some strategic shot choices,” said head coach Anna Temple. “Carmen did a great job leading the way and everyone did a good job particularly in round one of staying present. The afternoon got us a bit. It was a great learning experience for us.”

Amber Li and Wendy Tang finished the pair of rounds five-over overall, both tied for 23rd place on the player leaderboard.

Athena Ni notched four birdies and 20 pars, finishing the day 12-over par and tied for 60th place.

In her Husky debut and competing as an individual, Claudia Alnajim recorded a 13-over across two rounds Monday.

UW will play one final round at Chambers Bay on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The Husky lineup will kickstart the day on holes 6-9, with Alnajim beginning on the 18th hole.
