I love these old school golf balls but it looks like thanks to the USGA they’re making a come back

Testing a rubber band golf ball. Now, this is a Titleless DT90 ball. These balls are a bit older. Originally, the DT line started in the 1940s. This is more towards the 1980s line because it’s a wound golf ball. Now, a wound ball basically means they took a little piece of cork or sometimes like a little sack full of water and then wrapped a rubber band around it a ton of times, kind of getting it really tight and building up the rubber band. And then they would put a coat of sirin on the outside with the dimples and that’s the golf ball. So, it’s kind of their take on like a three layer golf ball from back in the day before we had all the rubbers and stuff we have now. It’s going to be similar to what the USGA is proposing with this new regulation. Now, obviously, we’re way beyond rubber bands wound up inside a golf ball, but it’s kind of got the same distance feel for what the USG is looking for with these new rules. So, I thought what a perfect time to get it tested and see what’s going on. Now, I’m really shocked that this ball had such a perfect sweet spot line just through both the logos there. Super easy and very clean for such an old golf ball. It really did have me quite shocked.
