PADUCAH, Ky. – The Belmont women’s golf team is in seventh place after day one of The Velvet Classic held Monday at the Country Club of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky.
The Bruins posted rounds of 312 and 306 to finish the day in seventh place at 618. UNC-Asheville has the team lead at 598, with Troy in second at 600.
Two Belmont golfers are among the top-25 after 36 holes. Sophomore Sloane Biddle is tied for eighth place at 150. She is four shots back of the individual leader, Pennie Osterberg of UNCA (146). Biddle posted identical rounds of 75 on Monday.
Graduate student Chloe Tarkany is tied for 22nd place at 152. She shot rounds of 77 and 75.
Other Belmont scores from day one included: junior Paige Hammarstrom (T-32, 156), sophomore Emilee Swagger (T-47, 160), and sophomore Sophie Skoog (T-73, 168).
