Tiger Woods, Ken Venturi and Lee Trevino thinks Moe Norman is the greatest ball striker ever. Why?
Let me show you why Tiger Woods, Ken Venturi, and Lee Trevino said Mo Norman was the greatest ball striker ever. The sound of the golf ball and the way the compression of the ball happens is because Mo would produce impact a very consistent way. Take a look at Mo Norman’s swing. You’ll see him produce a perfect impact position. You should focus on in your own swing. Let me kind of show you exactly what happened in Mo swing and why he was so good. To me, it comes down to obviously a single plane swing. He had a consistent way of planning the golf club and he had a consistent way of putting his body into position from the start of the swing all the way to the impact position. If you watch Mo swing, people would call this idiosyncratic, but what they were really seeing was Mo’s amazing discovery of the easiest way to get impact accomplished. When he set up to a golf ball, you see a tilt. That tilt is the same tilt he’ll have at impact. When he did that, he’s able to put the club and the arms on the plane of where he’s going to what? Impact. It comes down to Mo Nororman’s golf swing was all about getting the club not only to start on the impact plane, but to swing it on the impact plane. Take the club back, you’d see the plane, and then he would come down and he’d return it right back to that same plane. He even finished set up to a golf ball, put the club on the impact plane. This is called the single plane swing. Took the club back, returned it right back down to that same plane. That’s the beautiful thing about Monorman. That’s why these great ball strikers knew how good he
