MIDDLEBURY, Vt.- After claiming first place in the Tony Mariano Invitational on Wednesday, the Norwich Men’s Golf team travelled through the Green Mountains to compete in the two-day Duke Nelson Invitational on the campus of Middlebury College.
After day one, the Cadets sat in 17th place, with Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, Ont.) sitting in the top ten on the individual leaderboard. On the second day, Bertrand vaulted up the leaderboard to finish in a four-way tie for second place after finishing the day -1. He shot -2 on the front nine and made birdie on two of his final four holes to secure his placement.

Norwich’s next competition comes on Sept. 17 when they take part in the MCLA Invitational.
