Michael McGeady held off gale force winds, torrential showers and a strong field to clinch the Killiney Invitational Pro-Am.
McGeady carded a four-under-par round of 66 to win by three strokes from Cahir Park’s Paul Eivers and pick up his first win of the 2025 campaign in his 24th start.
Eivers was solo second on one-under after a 69 and both he and McGeady were the only players to finish the round in red figures.
McGeady had been knocking on the door of a victory with two-runner-up finishes and eleven top-10s before teeing it up.
In third place was Irish PGA champion Simon Thornton, Richard Kilpatrick of Banbridge and Sutton’s Paddy Devine on level-par after rounds of 70.
Rounding out the top-10 was a host of big names including Damien McGrane and Colm Moriarty who shared sixth place on one-over with James Quinlivan, Brian McCormack and Brian McElhinney.
