Golf, Top Banter & Tech! Rich Beem and Radar’s Funniest Match Yet

[Music] No, I love you, darling. You’re still the reigning wack job of of all time. Good morning, Rich B. Good morning, 2002. Wayne Riley, PGA champion, shot scope ambassador, won the Scottish Open being Nick Fowler. Yeah. Oh, don’t make me don’t make me blush. Don’t make me blush. But Shot Scope has brought us together. Yes, it has. And I’m uh we’re both proud to be ambassadors. I mean, they’re great products. We’ve we’ve uh gotten to know a little bit more about our games, sadly uh with Scott Shot Scope technology, but it’s always fun kind of getting together and then, you know, today we’re going to do is kind of show everybody exactly how it all works. Yeah. I mean, how far you hit it, you know, feedback, it can only help your game. It’s helping our game, let’s face it. So, uh, shots scope. Let’s crack on. Well, Beamer, we’ve got a little par four, riskreward, 316 y. I got a little bit of a limp here. I just twisted the ankle a little bit. I’m all right. Hopefully, just a little squeezy one up there. Woo! Slide, baby. I mean, that’s just normal for you, though. Look at that. You can’t get much better than that. Yeah, I reckon I’ll find that beamer. If you want to get past that if you want to get past that one beamer, I reckon you should get your forearm out. Isn’t it fun getting older? Radar. Yeah, just give it to it. Good news is we got a lot of technology that we are uh Oh, yeah. that that can help us out, but uh we we still got to figure out how need a shot scope they can strap to our hearts. That’s exactly right. Can we just tell it? We want the ball to go this far. Have it. Add a baby. Here you go. Add a baby. Have it. Have it. Have it. [Laughter] Well, I haven’t hit a long one, but I’m in a good position. 90 yards to the front, 104 to the flag, 117 to the back. That’s what I love about this. Amateur golfers, uh, Rich, uh, it’s just perfect. It can tell you to the middle of the green basically all the time. Well, it also what it does is that, you know, if you watch the if you watch PJ Tour, DP World Tour, LPJ, it doesn’t matter what you’re watching, the caddy is usually going to give three numbers. One to the front, one to the pin, and how many behind it. So, this watch is all built in with exactly what the caddies read off on their yardage book. This one tells you, okay, 86 front where I’m standing, 86 front, 100 in the middle, uh, and 113 all the way back. There you go. So, you’re going to have all the information you need. So, hit it more than 86, but less than 113. There you go. There you have it. What do you got here? And the other question the caddy says is, “How well you going to play this week?” Because I want to earn some cash. That’s right. I mean, it’s just like you fall out of bed and are still a pro spin. Oh, it will. You’re just magnific Look at the divot. Look at it. There’s not one fox. They love me here. Where’s your ball, Beamer? They love you. Where’s your ball? Where’s your ball, Beamer? It’s up there someplace. Oh, okay. Radar. Mhm. I I’ve just been kind of going toggling through my watch here. And this thing can tell me not only what the front is and where the pin is, but if I had to go over like if I was a little bit different angle and I had to get over that bunker, it would tell me how far it is over that bunker right there. Like we This is failp proof except for the operators. Yeah. I mean, but to cover that bunker is a you’ll what you’re saying is you’ll hear Catty’s on TV with the boom mics in there that to cover that bunker. That means that is 10 yards up the green. If he was to pull it or her she was to pull it on the LPGA tour, I mean that means you are wiping out that bunker. You are covering it. So that’s Yeah, you’re right. Yeah, I mean it’s just it’s the it’s the small things that you need to know in order to prevent those mistakes where flying the carrying the bunker or leaving an itit. I mean that’s it at at probably one shot could be more could be more. What’s front edge? Cuz that’s what you got to land. Front edge is it’s 34 and then uh it’s 48 in the middle. I think it’s a little shy of middle. So I’m going to say 45 yard shot is is about what I got here. Oh, I pulled it off that lie. Yeah, we’re still going to be all right. shot. I’m just inside of you and that’s all that matters. Yeah, that’s exactly right. That’s all that matters, baby. Only one thing about shot scope it can’t do and that’s putt. Give them time. Yeah. Tell you how far it is. Three paces. 9 ft. It’s telling me. Yeah, that’s how far it is. Oh, you [Laughter] You you you you. Oh dear. That’s the one thing about TV that I love. You guys say when they hit a bad shot. Oh dear. Yeah. When I say it, it sounds it sounds rancid. Yeah, I know. You guys say it, it sounds elegant, like, oh, that was such a bad shot. I feel bad for them. The oldfashioned bullseye. Oh, yes. Right. Couple of pars. Couple of pars. Okay, Beamer. Yeah. Par three. Yeah. Got it. 196 from here. Obviously, it’s going to be shorter when I just walk up there. Probably about 195. A lot of amateurs, we’re talking of Scotty Sheffler and where he misses it. Oh yeah. That that that is the greatest part of his game is where he misses it because a lot of people say, “Well, it’s where you hit it.” No, because if you hit it in the wrong spot, you can’t get it up and down. You tell us about what you think about that sort of strategy that the world number one’s adopting and now the open champion. Well, I I I think he you know what he does is he takes he effectively takes out the place where he’s not going to take on a flag if he knows that missing it left of a green or right of a green is going to cause him all sorts of issues. So at the open uh for instance left of 18 was never going to be where any where he should have ever hit it. Every shot was gonna be out to the right with the exception funny enough of Sunday when he had a big enough lead. He just thought he might little show off there. But he takes the danger out of play 24/7 and he’s so good at it. You know, the driver sometimes he pulls it. That’s kind of his tendency. But you put an iron in his hand. Listen, he is not going to miss it from he he rarely misses it. Shortsides himself where he’s got to hit a flop shot or some sort of incredible recover shot. It just doesn’t happen. It’s incredible. But that’s what it’s all about. So you miss it in the right spot, you open up the angles. So, what I’ve got here to cover that bunker on the left hand side, I’ve got one 91. And the bunker on the right, you shouldn’t go anywhere near. Pushed it a bit. Pushed it a bit. I said that right bunker. I did go in that right bunker. Did I thought I was a little short of it? Okay. I hope so. I think it’s short of it. You know, that’s one of the things he does as well, though. If the bunker up there on the right hand side is say 200 yards, he’s not gonna he’s going to take a club that hits it over 191 but less than 200. Yeah. I mean, it’s just incredible. He’s you got such great talent and and the you and I have seen him out there for years now. There’s nobody in the game that hits at exactly penheim more than he No one more. Monty back in the day. Okay. Monty didn’t win a major, but he won a lot of other stuff and he was right there. But consistently, you’ll hear a saying on the golf course, be myself, pin high. Pin high. Now, that takes a talent. A lot of you at home might think to yourself, okay, why aim at the left of the flag inside the hole when you’re that good to hit it there? Why can’t you just go at it? Because he’s just eliminating risk. That’s exactly right. That’s exactly right. Oh, and I pulled this one radar. I cover the bunker. I cover the bunker though. I cover the bunker. Oh, you have? Oh, good news is though is you and I have amazing short games. Yes, we do. We have amaz like we got some mad mad short game skills, baby. [Music] All right, I said we got mad mad chipping skills. We’re going to test this thing out here. Got to back foot square up the blade. Get this thing running. Oh, mad chipping skills we got. Yeah. Oh, little shy. Little shy. It’s not supposed to happen. Oh, a bit too far. Try to spin it. Just come out a little quick on me. I want to break free. I want to break free. Here you go, my friend. I feel bad, but your walk is killing me. No, it’s all right. Okay. You look like you look like a character out of a movie somehow. You look like like Mr. Bean should should kind of take a look. I twisted the ankle, you know, but it’s all just a little twist. We’ve all had worse than that. Oh, yeah. If I was still playing tournament golf, would I play in the tournament? Probably not, but it’ be You’d have a go, wouldn’t you? If you needed to. Yeah. Yeah. If you needed to. Yeah. Yeah. If you needed to. If you needed to. Darling, the school fees are due, darling. mortgage is a couple of months behind. My tires are getting bald. The the AC needs to be repaired. Okay, here we go. Up the hill. Left or right? Not bad. Pulled it a bit, but I’m all right. Might just look a bit funny, the old walk viewers, but Oh, don’t you worry yourself. You know who you who you walk like? That who? The guy that plays the cockroach in Men in Black. Oh, I forget what the actor is, but he always like this, you know, because he’s a cockroach and and he walks just like Okay, you guys are going to have to pull up some video of that and you got to put it in there. The cockroach, you know, as he’s getting older, you know. Oh my god. That’s exactly who you walk like. I was born like this. Oh jeez. I forgot about that guy. I was like going, “Wait a second. I’ve seen that walk before.” Boom. Well done, son. Nice pass. Good up and down. That was what we were speaking about on the tea. Leaving it in the wrong a right spot. I shortsided myself. He didn’t. He gets it up and down. I don’t. One up. One up. Radar. It’s hard to believe that you and I would actually try and accessorize our watches. But I mean, look at your You got this right here versus on your zipper right here. I’m actually going for the red and white. And I’m what I’m going to do is I’m going to paint this blue on my own, even though I probably shouldn’t, but I’m going to go for the America theme since the Ryder Cup is coming up and I Sorry, but I got to root for it. They actually have u a number of different bands that you can switch in and out each day if you want to accessorize and make yourself be matchy matchy cooly like you do. You I mean you’re amazing dress. You know what? Do you want to know something that that is as for me it’s as exciting as the watch because if I go to the Masters you and I at the Masters this year shotscape green we were wearing. So it’s it’s um you can you can accessorize you can um wear whatever you like white whatever. If you’re feeling gloomy, you wear black. You know, it’s um they’re fantastic. I got yellow. I got all sorts of colors. Yep. So, two-tone. I like the two tone. I didn’t get two. Why haven’t I got any of those? Why? You weren’t thinking. I’ll get some. I’ll get some. Maybe one with the American flag one day be all right for you. Australian flag, English flag, Spanish flag. We can paint those. We can do We’re amazing painters. Yeah, we could do some Maybe we got shots. Go scope thinking. Radar, radar, this is your home club and so you played here a thousand times. I haven’t. I got to figure I got to shoot these bunkers here and say, “Okay, that one’s the one on the left.” You’re covering. Yeah. What do you got it at? Oh, to carry it. I’ve got uh 240. Yeah, 240 to the one on the right, which is the one it’s worrying. That can’t be right. No, you can’t. Yeah, it’s a long way. That’s 300 to the one on the right. So, and it’s soft. So, you know, obviously the summer over here and you know, we had to pump some water in the place and but you played here a million times, so I I feel like you might have an advantage over me. This is the Hills of Dreams, my friend. Hang on, baby. Hang on, baby. H That’s not really going to be all right, though. You’re just fine, Beamer. As my dad used to say, that’s not going to hurt you. It might run up your score a little bit, but it won’t hurt you. That’s just right where you want it. Right down the right side. This heel’s starting to feel better. You know, I might be hobbling around with you taking the mickey out of me, but I’m feeling better. Listen, if I was nice to you, you would know. Terrific. You just step in something funny or just step in a hole or Yeah, mate. I didn’t I just talking to someone. Someone was talking to me as I was walking up. You know what they’re like, cool. And all of a sudden, I just tried a little thing and went, “Oh, didn’t think anything of it.” Yeah. Yeah. Like a little hole. Yeah. There we go. You just you you prefer the the rangefinder. I do. I I think it’s just something I’ve been accustomed to. You know, you throw it on the cart, you know, magnet right here, throw it on the side of it right there, and you hop out, you zap it, and then you’re done. I I just think it’s just easier. I haven’t I’ve never really been a watch guy when I’m playing, but I wear it when I’m out walking for Sky Sports and all that. But for me, I like I like the rangefinder. I like this Pro Lis brand new uh edition, too. I mean, this I mean, this is a cool, sexy white. I don’t see much white out there. Yeah. No, I get it. Yeah, but I I just I’ve been more accustomed to using lasers than I have with the watches. That’s an age thing probably. Yeah. But the thing is I I just like the getting up in the morning. Yeah. On goes the watch. I can tell the time with it. Yeah. Leave the the day watch and the night watch at home. And I just think this is easy. What yardage did you have from there? Same thing I have here. I have I have same exactly. I got 100 yards. So, they’re both good, but it’s just preference. It’s not going to tell me how how thick those trees are, sadly, but uh all we get we got we got we got skills. Just don’t hit that sign. Missed the sign. That’s lovely shot. missed the Oh, that’s a beautiful shot. Look at this. Look at this, baby. Look at this. Tell you what, every once in a while, you get lucky. Good shot, mate. And blind squirrel finds an acorn. Good shot. Gracias. Okay, very good beamer under pressure here. 97 front 110 flag. Don’t worry have to worry about back edge because it’s plenty of room behind it. pulled it a little. Okay. Okay. Couple of decent shots. Beam up. Yeah. It’s kind of like we knew what we’re doing here. What do you think of them? The way they’re lining the ball up on the green. Do you think they’re slowing things down? What do you reckon? I don’t know if it’s slowing it down. Uh, you know, in fact, I don’t think it slows it down at all. I I’m I’m amazed. I’m amazed at how when they put the line down from from putts that break 10 ft, you know, and yet these guys get it spot on. I think if if if you can line it up with the line on it, can only help. But we’re in that arena of you can’t teach old dog new tricks. I don’t line it up with lines. I just do that, baby. Just pours it right in right in that hole right there. Put me down for a Philly. Oh, try Beamer. Good try, mate. As Oh, they’re not supposed to say all square. We’ll say even. Oh, we’re even. About the scores. I think by then you’ll get It’s the first 20footer I’ve made in three months. Little dry out there, radar. Is that what uh mate be? You’re knocking it over that bunker. Okay. I can’t obviously with this ankle or unless you want to aim at the right one and hit it as hard as you can. You got 299 uphill to reach the one on the right. Yeah, that 299 is not uh not uphill. No, is is not uh in the game plan. Oh boy. Miss it left and it’s fine. It’s got to It’s got to go left. It’s fine. Bounce hard. Oh, look at that. That’s good clean living right there. Fairway. I just skipped right by it like it wasn’t even there. All right. What I look here at is I’m getting the yardage at 118, but I’ve also got I’m looking at 127 back edge. That’s what I’m looking at. Now, I’m not really worried about the front. It’s only 98. I can see that if I hit it short, if I don’t cover 100 to the front, I mean, that’s, you know, it’s something that you just you’re going to do or you expect to do. So, what I’m thinking about here once more is the yardage to the back edge. I don’t want to go long. That’s 127. So, we got one around 120 total, which is just a nice wedge from here off an ups slope. Soft little draw. I think that’ll be just about bang- on pin high. I hope. Well, I use my laser and uh I got it at 100 yards, but my watch also says 114 back. So, I know that uh I got 14 yards to play with. And thankfully, because this is a little bit jumpy lie here, this could look come out a little bit hot, but we’re going to try and try and offset that a little bit. See if we can’t make this come out low and running a little bit. A lovely shot, Beamer. Thank you. How about that? That’s pin high. I love it when I get lucky. What total did you have? 100. Oh, we like that number. It’s the number that we used to practice every day when we were kids. 50, 100, 150. And fill in the gaps between. Yeah. [Music] This baby’s not using Scott Shot scope. How about this, buddy? Uh, pin high. Yep. And pin high. Well, it can only help when you know the exact yardage front. But that’s why I said we don’t cover that. Don’t worry about that. But it’s that there long. That’s where you don’t want to go. And here we are. We are pin high. Pin high is. And I’m marking my ball with a T, which is you’re supposed to mark your golf ball, boys and girls, with a flat object. And I just put a T. And it’s just cuz I always like a tea when I’m doing these sort of things because I like to fix pitch marks. That’s all we used to mark when we were kids. Some Yeah, I know. But we rule toys or ball markers. The rule is Well, back in Australia, they just what they do is they mark them with a beer can. Okay. out of the ride here. Low. That’s good. I haven’t seen you miss one in there, mate. I haven’t seen you miss one of those on a Monday ever. Look at him. Great birdie. One up. Thanks. Should have birded them all, Beamer. Yeah. Very good. What’s the fun in that? The 14th hole here at Fox Hills is 525 yds. beam up. There’s a big elevation change down there. If you hit a bad T-shot, especially right or left, you are laying up because of that pond. For the longer hitters like such as you, Rich, there’s no problem. But as long as you hit the fairway, it’s one of those ones that as a great player, you expect to make yourself a birdie. And uh well, if you if you do miss the fairway in the bracket, in the junk on the right hand side, or even on the road, it’s easy to make a seven. So, you’re fresh off a birdie. Ah yes. Ah yes. Unleash my son. Unleash the beast in you. Off a good drive. I think you can get home with a drive and a hybrid. That’s always nice. Yeah. Try and get down the right hand side. Little brown bonus down there. No, it kicks right there, Rich. Oh, it does? Yes, it does. All right. Straight at that oak. Okay. Oh, not that oak. Well, I tell you that might be okay. It’s better than the other side. Trust me. Better than It’s better than the road. Oh, it’s better than the other side. It’s better than the road. Well, you can’t hit the road. I just thought it sounded good. I’m sure somebody could. You know, as soon as you said that, soon as you said someone could hit it that far right, straight to my mind went Burkeale Jordan Spath. Oo, 13th hole. Just straight then. That’s interesting because that was right. That started right and then went right and then sliced from there. Yep. He still went Oh, look at that. You and I are okay. You and I are right there. That must be perfect. We’re right next to each other. No, mine’s mine’s further left than yours. All right. Down the left hand side here, that pond that runs through the middle. I’ve got only 180 to cover that. There’s a tree between me and that pond, but 180. I’m just going to hit a little a little hybrid down there. Can’t really reach the green. So, what I’m doing is just jockeying for position. off a down slope, which gets my attention as I stand over it. That’s as good as I can hit it. Get down. Very happy with that. It’s the only way I’m going to get it up over that tree. I don’t even lost the sewood got on it. 20. Yeah, I got one with 23 on it. I don’t even know if I can get this thing over that. I’ll try. Yeah. Once you our guy gets done cleaning, there he goes. That came out so bad. So right, is it? Watch this. Kick the tree right back in play, baby. That’s just good, clean living right there. That is good, clean living. Shot scope. Even when you eat in the rubbish, it just gets it to come straight out. I love you, darling. [Laughter] Why did I hit it here? Why did my caddy to tell me hit it here? This is not good. All right, channel my inner sevy here. Land it over that bunker in that little island and bounce up and kick a little right. If I pull that off, I’m going to buy lottery tickets tonight. Oh. Oh, that was not far away. That was not far away. That guy got 41 yards. Pretty straightforward shot. One hopes and that I love. Oh no. Dug its toes in. I love that now. Yeah. My mistake. Just didn’t hit it hard enough. Hit it like I wanted to hit it, but just didn’t hit it hard enough. Wow. All right. All right. Watch this action. I’m not I’m not taking out my 58. I got my 54. So, this a little heavy sand and I’m just going to hit the old chunk and runner. The chunk and chaser. Chunk and chaser. I’m going to do it with my 54 so I don’t have to work nearly as hard. Watch this. Not bad. Little more bite. I I didn’t uh I didn’t chunk it nearly as much as I was trying to. Still a good shot. Got a little spinner on it. All right. Up the hill for a birdie. I can’t believe that stopped so swiftly. Is my mark okay for you right now? Yes. Hold on. Hold on. I got to fix pitch mark right here, buddy. I don’t want to have any excuses for yours not to go in. P. So, I found the video of you. What video? The one where you’re the cockroach in Men in Black. I sent it to you. Great. I sent it to you and you’re going to love it. No. Oh, just for a second I thought he was going to get a nice half dog leg from right to left. Beamer bunker up there on the left. That’s what I’m doing with his ankle. Just little levino thing and hit it straight at it. Straight at it. Just left of it. It almost looked like it went past it. Like almost like it hit and it kind of went around it. Well, I hit it pretty good. I got the lefts and rights going today. Not too sure which direction this one’s going. Little cut down there. That should be all right, huh? It’s all right. There’s just a little dip there. That’s all right. Listen, I’m okay with dips. Well, we got to do a little something a little different here. We’ve actually taken the flag out, so I don’t know where the hole is. Uh, and what I’ve got is I’ve got 79 the front. I’ve got 92 the middle and I have 104 the back edge. So, what we’re going to do here is if I try to if I can get this, even though I’ve got a horrendous lie here, I’ll be surprised if I can actually get this on the green. But if I do get it on the green or Beamer gets it on the green, how close we actually are to the flag because I’ve always wanted to do that. I’ve always wanted to play a round of golf with no flags, none. And just try to constantly hit the green and see what score I would have shot. But I’ve never got round to doing it. But you know, we can do it on one hole. The lads have taken the flag out. Even though, as I said, this is cabbage. Came out, but I’ve pulled it. Get up. It’s in the bunker. Beamer, you show them what I had 92 middle. So, yeah. Well, thankfully I’ve got a great lie over here in this little dip, I think is what radar called it. I’ve got 65 front, 77 to the center, and 88 back. This is just a basically a perfect little lob wedge, land it right in the middle of the green, and then see where the uh the flag is from there. But, as Raider said, I I like it. Kind of gets your mind away from, you know, trying to go at flag six. Just hit in the center of the green, and you’ll probably have a pretty good chance of making birdie here. Lost it in the air. Yeah, I’ve always wanted to play golf like that, Rich. No flags, 18 holes. I mean, it helps keep your mind away from hitting the flag. So, hit the green, take your chances from there. You betcha. So, having a guess of where the flag is. I mean, you’re all going to have a go at this at your local club from now on, aren’t you? What a what a day out. You know, the luxury of TV, you know, if you if you did it with professional golf, you couldn’t do that because everyone would be watching TV in the morning and Beamer and I would be hitting off first and everyone would know where the where the flag positions are. But amateurs, you know, you could you could do it. No flag day. I Yeah. I mean, that would actually be kind of fun like a men’s league or something like that. Just take the flags out and say, “Boys, go get them. We’re going to get it.” And that’s where Shot Scope, you know, right now. Well, I don’t know where it is. I’m I’m taking a guess. We could be on to something here. Radar, we’re on to something. be about the first thing we’d ever be on to. Right. Well, I’m just going to sort of hit it to the middle. That’s exactly what I’ve done. How far away it is, I don’t know. But that’s about the heart of the You’re going to actually be You’re going to like it. Yeah. You’re going to like it. Yeah. Oh, I crushed it. Sit down. I flushed it. You did flush it. That is Happens once around. Okie dokie. Look at that. No flag. Four. No flag. Huh? What about that beamer? How good is that? How pure are the greens here at the Hills of Dreams? Yeah, these greens are awesome. They are awesome. Really good. Oh, I was giving it a go. That first one was a little bit quicker than I thought it was going to be. I’ve used one of these. You haven’t? No, I have. I haven’t used this model, but it’s been a while since No, these are these are the new models. It’s been a while since I’ve used I’ve also learned that I don’t want to go this way. You got to No, if you go down there, people who go down there Yeah. you’re losing the whip in the shaft. Yeah. And it’s also you have to It’s It’s all You have to be like like Scotty, your man Scotty, he’s Yeah. He’s locked in. He basically just pivots right around the the I like more that Yeah. in there. Do you less moving? But it depends how you feel. Yeah. That that’s I’ve never tried that to be fair. Yeah, that was terrible. Holy cow. It’s been a while since I’ve Yeah, it takes a long time, too. When I first went to it, I took seven weeks off the tour and didn’t hit a ball and just puted with a long putter. Did you? Seven weeks. Yeah. You got to you got to you got to just sit there and work at it. I wanted to cuz I was putting I was playing so well that year and I just went home from here to Austral. to live in Australia September and I just went home and said I I can’t do this anymore because with a short putter I I was to the green amazing and putting man it was just it was really doing me in and I wanted to be a child again bring out the child in myself and that’s we just and then no did you did you just was the rest of the year you took off or did you come back that fall and play uh I went and defended a tournament in New Zealand and ran 30th then I went to Adelaide and played in another tournament from ran 20th and the third event with it. I won this round home. How did it feel coming down the track? Good. Well, to be perfectly honest with you, I what happened was I I didn’t feel great with it, but then the Australian Open week at Royal Melbourne, I played better than everyone else and didn’t hold a part. And then I got to three holes from the end. And I hold a 15footer on 16. Yeah. Then 22footer on 17. Yeah. And the last hole I hold a 33 footer. So how do you think your confidence is going to go with a long putter? Yeah. It just went just through the roof. Yeah. Through the roof. It just it just went through the roof. And then I mate I was just brushing them in for about 3 years like but then it eventually went away. Yeah. two. All right. This is the uh the 16th. This is a new hole beamer. Uh we’ve got the Pete Dice Sleepers. Ah, yes. Yeah. A bit longer than the 17th of Sawrass. Yeah. But today we’ve got it playing at 211 yards today. So, I’ve got the little spanner out. Let’s give it a go. No wind out here to speak of, but the difficulty in this, you know, for the amateurs to to make a three here with that water. Tell me what you were thinking as a young amateur to now as a a successful professional golfer. Honestly, I was looking at the front edge. I was trying to hit at the front edge because I’m not trying to I I’m I’m trying to take the least amount of club hitting it out there where it’s safe and then I from there I can chip and putt from long range. Um, you know, and and funny enough, that’s still an option for for some of the players on tour. Take the water out completely, but you don’t want to hit it long and right and miss it. Anything your your best bet is to hit it just front edge of the green on the left hand side. Take one less club, take one less club, and find that front edge and just get it up and down from there. And the thing is if you are if you are a drawer of the ball and and starting at that um as a right-hander slicer as a left-hander, make sure you use your shot scope and you check out how far it is to cover that water. So at least you’re going to be dry if you want to have a crack. And that’s 222. Okay. Hard par three. Good par three, but a hard one. I’ve pulled it. That was never going to go in the water. No, certainly not. Sit. Oh, that’s hard from there. Yeah, but it’s dry. Yeah, but I should practice what I double boogie out. We preached it, you know, miss it in the right spot and I have not. I have not. Yeah, but we don’t have We don’t have the same control. No, as that guy do. Yeah, but we all hope, don’t we? We all wish and hope. Oh, that we do. Back in the day, we didn’t do too badly. We didn’t do too badly back in the day. We talk about it now. Don’t know how that’s going for both of us either. Hey, listen. They We’re still here. Listen, they haven’t kicked us out of the building yet, radar, which is always good. Oh, I was trying I was plug trying to plug and it’s all right. Plug shot. Oh, look at that. Yeah, a little bit of wind out of the left there. Yeah, good shot, Beaver. There you go. Front edge, baby. I can two. You needed that. You needed that. You’re one down. I know. I know. You know, I hate being one down to you. It’s annoying. Oh, it came out hot. Sit. Run. Run. Just shot on me a little. Run bot out of position. Bad. You know, Radar, it’s been a known fact that every shot you hit makes somebody happy. Yeah. Yeah. You going first? I am away. You want it in or not? No, you can leave it in. You can leave it in. Yeah, you can leave it in. H pedestrian cuz I’m going to I’m willing to bet you don’t make yours. Here we go. No feelings there. Pushed it. Not bad though. No feelings. No hurt feelings. Square. Very nice be. Very nice. I got your other one. Thank you. This has been fun, hasn’t it? Beautiful day, huh? Can’t beat this day. Weather run has been amazing last week, huh? Every It’s like every tournament we’ve been through the last three weeks has been the weather’s been just you couldn’t get any better. No. Scottish the Open. Well, Port Rush, we had Port Rush had two squalls on what on Well, one on Thursday and one on Friday. Oh, Friday was it. [Music] All right. Standing on the 18th. We decided to skip 17 because, you know, we knew what was going to be the outcome of that. But I’m leading because we’re all square. Or at least I have the honor. Yeah. All square. And uh I just bragging rights. I I don’t know if I could I don’t think I’d take the pain and suffering if we’re going on air and you Oh, okay. Because you know I I play golf for fun now. I really play golf for fun. Yeah. And uh you know I don’t have to you still play you’re still competitive and still play on Champions Tour and stuff when you get the opportunity and you’re not working for us on commentary but uh which is not very often because you’re a greedy man. So let’s go. Let’s give it a hit. Listen, we both We both know we like the work. We both know we like the work, buddy. Is this a par five radar? Yes. Good. Oh, right off the heel. Yeah, but I tell you, couldn’t be on a better line. Yeah, that couldn’t be on a better line. Right on the up slope. That should be That should work. You can’t play the hole any better than that spot right there. I was going to say as tight to that left bunker as you can. That’s exactly what you’ve done. It’s about where it is. It’s about what you see. I think you’ve played before. Yes, sir. You know what, Beamer? With this dodgy ankle, I’m sitting back a little like this and waiting for it more. You know, I think I should absolutely hammer my ankle every time before I go and play golf because I’ve got this fast. I’ve got the new move. It’s called the ankle move. What you do is you just lay back and you don’t put any pressure on that ankle. This is the future. We’ll all become scoopers. We’ll all scoop it into the sky. What do you reckon, Beaver? Scoopers. Pooper scoopers. I I reckon that you are you you have you’re still the reigning whack job of of all time. God bless you, Beamer. Yeah, there’s a red sort of writing coming on my Shot Scope app here saying shot scope tells me radar, you shouldn’t do this, which is driver off the deck with a bunker in front of me. The first thing that comes into my mind is this thing just going woof straight into the face of it. I listen, I I’m You can hear it, can’t you? I can. And and thankfully we got a little bit of an ups slope, but boy, this is But you got that scoop going with that dodgy left ankle. I’m I think I’m at a disadvantage here. I drop kicked it and pulled it, but it was close. I didn’t hear it hit anything. No, it’ll run up the rough there. All right. All right. It wasn’t a flush. It was not a flush. Big ball before little ball going on here. I’m very afraid of this one. I don’t know why I’m doing this other than the fact that radar’s making me, but it’s Monday and we always hit driver off the deck on Monday. And has played one. Kick left, baby. Not right. I think it’s in the bunker, but good shot. Very good. I’ll take it. The Monday driver off the deck. That’s what we’re going to do now. Monday off the What is it? You Mondays, everybody has driver off the deck on Mondays. Always. I mean, that’s a given. Barefoot Mondays as well. Play golf, driver off the deck bare feet. That’d be blissful. Yeah. Keep those cameras rolling on him. Make sure he’s not cheating. Exactly. Do that with your bad leg, though. All right. Don’t forget driver of the deck to get it here. Not bad. Oh, stop it. I was I was really hoping you weren’t going to hit it there, buddy. No, [Music] I tell you what, that was in all the way. That would have left a mark. Speaking of marks. Uh, good. Good. Would you be disappointed everyone at home with our shot scope outing? Know your game. Would you be disappointed if we if we didn’t putt those? We aren’t disappointed. We are not disappointed at all, mate. I loved it. Love you, buddy. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Well, it was a great little uh outing here at Fox Hills in Surrey. And uh Rich Beam, Ambassador, Shotskate, and myself, we’ve loved uh having you on board. And you honestly know your game. [Music]

  1. I had the pleasure of playing with Rich Beem way back in 2007. Great fun! I hit a drive that hooked, no joke, about 120 yards. Rich literally rolled out of the cart laughing! It was brilliant.

  2. I don't understand why American TV network doesn't hire Rich Beem! He would be the next Gary Mccord. I have watched Sky Sports a few times, He seems to like working with the other guys there. It may be more fun to work for them. CBS NBC and the Golf channel seem a bit stuffy to me.

  3. Shot scope, how are the distances on your watches measured ? Are the distances taken from satellite maps or are the courses actually walked and plotted ?

  4. 2 of my favorite people playing one of my favorite places.

Had the pleasure of meeting Radar a few times now. Never got chance to meet Beemer. Hope to one day.
