First down. First down. Well, Evan, you mentioned Seattle at Pittsburgh, and that’s where we’re starting. And we’ll start with you. Is Aaron Rogers week one performance sustainable throughout the year? Four touchdowns? No. More touchdowns and interceptions? Yes. Hopefully for the Steelers, if you’re a Steeler fan and you’re a Rogers fan, he can be a complimentary piece to everything else they do is your hope, not to be the main piece. Is it sustainable? ish. I’m not writing it off. I’m writing off four touchdowns, but could you give me two touchdowns and one or less picks every game? Why not? Yeah, I’m writing it off completely. I thought it was a good game. Not a good sign for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Week one against the New York Jets was not an indicator of what Rogers is going to give us in the future. You got to remember, it’s the first game of the season in an off season that had the team that they played show Aaron Rogers the door. It was more than just one of 17. That game meant a lot to Aaron Rogers to try to prove Aaron Glenn and his new Jets regime wrong. Now, credit to him. He went out there and performed and played really, really well. But, I still think there are some flaws with the Pittsburgh Steelers. They can’t run the football. So, that means that they’re going to put him in a lot of situations that are obvious passing scenarios and opposing defensive fronts are going to tee off. And if you looked at Aaron Rogers against the New York Jets, he’s a quarterback when the pocket breaks down that’s looking for a soft place to lay. So I I don’t think that Aaron Rogers is capable of sustaining that level of play just because the offense is so one dimension. Next one, Pat. Second down. CeCe, we’ll stick with you. Jags at Bengals. If neither one of these quarterbacks and Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence gets it done and ultimately wins a Super Bowl in their career, which one would be more disappointing? Well, it has to be Joe Burrow. People are saying that he’s the arguably the best quarterback in the league. They put him up there with Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Jaylen Herz, and based on his resume, he just doesn’t belong there. But yet, people still want to believe in Joe Burrow. And so I think that he would be the guy that would be a disappointment just because of what we’ve seen from him early on in his career getting to a Super Bowl and then having the best weapon in the National Football League in Jamar Chase at his disposal. So I think Joe Burrow would be the guy that would be most disappointed. No question. Totally agree. I I also think it’s because many people have rightfully and fairly based on his play downgraded their overall viewpoint of the other quarterback you mentioned here. That’s why I think the obvious answer is Trevor Lawrence. At least Joe Burrow came into this league, showed you why he’s the number one overall pick. He took the Cincinnati Bengals to a Super Bowl. What has Trevor Lawrence done and we talked about him in the same vein as Andrew Luck and Pton Manning. And I know he’s been injured, but so is Joe Burrow. Yeah, but if you’re saying whose career would be more disappointing if they don’t get to this or win a Super Bowl, I think people have already decided that Trevor Lawrence’s career is disappointing. So getting to the the goals have lowered. Saying that about Burrow is a compliment to Burrow. You’re so good. You’ve done it before. We expect you to do it again. Trevor Lawrence needs to have a winning record. Let’s start there. But ultimately, think about how disappointing that is. But would you be disappointed if Baker never won a Super Bowl? I don’t think we talked about Baker Mayfield coming out of college even though he was a number one overall pick in the same vein that we did a Trevor Lawrence in Would you be disappointed if Jameus Winston who’s a third string quarterback as a number one overall pick didn’t win a Super Bowl? I think it’s totally different. Well, we he was undefeated. Yes. And he was blind and I’m not making fun of he couldn’t see. Trevor Lawrence won a national championship as a freshman. So did Jameus thought he was going to be the next freshman, but as a red sophomore, whatever he I’m not I’m not making fun of of I’m saying what what I’m saying is Trevor Lawrence was a guy that came into college football with a ton of fanfare. Smashed all of Deshun Watson’s high school records in the state of Georgia. Won a natty as a freshman. Yeah, as a freshman. We’ve been thinking about Trevor Lars. He’s been in the national spotlight for a decade now. That’s what I’m saying. Everybody looked at him as a generational talent when he came out. Can’t miss prospect. You even said it yourself. Oh yeah. So if he didn’t fulfill that promise, which is getting to the the big stage and getting to a Super Bowl, I think it’s a disappointment. I just don’t think it would be as big as Joe Burrow not winning. Yeah. Speaking of disappointments, third down. Third down. CC Patriots and Dolphins. If the Dolphins look the same in week two as they did in week one, is it already time to sell or should they be patient? Sell. It’s not going to get better. Now, I understand why they might not sell because the general manager and the head coach’s jobs are literally on the line and they want to give themselves every opportunity to try to write the ship. The Miami Dolphins are a bad football team. They’re not well constructed. And beyond that, they have a quarterback that is the definition of erratic. And oh, by the way, he can’t stay healthy. They’ve got so many guys banged up along that offensive line. I think they’ve got a couple of guys on that offensive line out. They’re they’re ravaged with injuries in that department. Their defense isn’t what it once was. I I I just don’t see a path to the Miami Dolphins being competitive this year. No, not at all. And uh let’s in fairness, we laughed at the Chicago Bulls when they had a players only meeting after game one of the NBA season. The Miami Dolphins, per Adam Chapter reporting, had a players only meeting already. It’s been one game. It was a bad game. Do you ever have a players only meeting meeting after week one? Hell no. Players only meeting after week one means your season is over. Just so everybody understands that. We said that about the Chicago Bulls. Yeah. We were laughing about that. We could not believe that. It remains true even if we’re talking about a different sport in the NFL. If you have a playersonly meeting after week one, then there’s no way that you’re going to be able to get things headed in the right direction. So yeah, they’re going to be sellers sooner rather than later. Last one, Pat. Fourth down. Ev Broncos at Colts. Is Daniel Jones the real deal in Indie or are the Dolphins just that bad? You’re laughing as you’re asking the question, which is interesting. Um, so I guess you’re saying the Dolphins are that bad? They’re really bad. I I’ve always said I think Daniel Jones is, let’s say, 5% better than everyone else thinks he is. my opinion, he can be sustainable if he’s healthy as a quarterback that can hover your team around nine or eight wins, eight or nine wins, right? Maybe some would say six, seven, I don’t know. But I think that right now he’s fine. He’s not your long-term answer. He’s fine. But yes, it’s more about the Dolphins being horrific. Yeah, same. It’s about the Dolphins being really, really bad. And I think Daniel Jones is going to come back to earth this week against that Bronco defense cuz they like that. Four downs. Did you answer? Oh, you said Colts. Done. You’re laughing at I mean, sorry. Dolphins that make the Colts. They’re really bad. Players only after week one. Bad. What is that in in Well, when you come into the season and your quarterback and your star wide receiver, the best player on your team and Tyreek Hill are already at odds and you’re already having sound bites get circulated about how he’s working on himself and that relationship is a work in progress. And then you have that performance after week one. Bad. Just a quick question. I know we got like 30 seconds here, CC, but what does that say about training camp? In other words, did like the stuff that needed to be said after week one. Didn’t you have a month kind of off the books, so to speak, to deal with that stuff? How could it linger into the season? That has to be refle I like Mike McDaniel, but that has to be a reflection on him. Like, hey, we have these things lingering. the season starts. What that tells me is there’s zero belief in that locker room and what they’re doing. If you have conviction about how you put your football team together in the preseason and training camp and the exhibition games, then you don’t need to have a players only meeting after week one.
