Working on a few things this fall, but the most important one I absolutely hate is how far my head moves towards the ball and down in my backswing. I know this is what cause me to “back up” and come out of my swing which leads to fat/heavy/inconsistent ball striking.
I have yet to come up with a solution for a training aid or other to train this. Thoughts and comments appreciated!

Two main tendencies could be nudging your head forward: sliding toward the target in the backswing and an upright setup at address. Tip 1: turn and rotate around your spine instead of sliding-keep your head steady over the ball as you swing. Tip 2: tilt your upper body forward a bit more at address so you don’t drop toward the ball later in the swing. To check, use a mirror or video to see if your head stays in place and you’re not lifting. Your tempo is a touch quick for a wedge, so try a smoother, even pace to help your rotation stay on plane.

Try not to be so quick in ceding your left knee bending. Not saying keep it up right but fight to keep it from bending a bit.
Probably using your hips to rotate back instead focus on the shoulders doing it?

Seems to be coming from lower body during the back swing, left knee is moving down and straight towards the ball and right leg is posting to straight. so your right hip is getting really high while left side lowers and your body and head are lowering as a result.
What about that takeaway tho… Mr. wristy 😉
I personally think it could be the way you’re shifting your weight. rather than using your legs and waist to move your weight, try just using your feet. most of the weight shift action should be mainly in your feet so that it is less movement in the lower body overall.
or another thing you can try is just letting the momentum of your arms and shoulders during the backswing just let your weight naturally move, but thats a more person-to-person kind of thing.
i think something is just off center or misplaced in your weight shift causing the head to move around so much, so if you focus on that you should be able to identify where. you got this!
It’s a rotation issue because you’re relying on your legs to take rotation of the core instead of rotating the core itself.
You swing how I used to. In the backswing the trail leg gets too straight, lead knee dives toward the ball, and you lose your posture (causing head to dive toward the ball). Then you have massive hip thrust in the downswing because you’re in a position where your lower body can’t really work how it’s supposed to and your upper body is too close to the ball.
It’s a backswing issue first and foremost.
