Can I BREAK 80 at one Charlotte’s BEST COURSES? Eagle Chase Golf Club

Today we are at Eagle Chase Golf Club. One I would say is one of the top five golf courses in the immediate shard area. I say immediate, it’s not all that close, but it’s definitely one of the top five. And we’re out here playing for a break 80 round. We’ve been here a handful of times. Game is feeling a little saucy. So we’re going to give it a go. Playing from two different boxes actually. We’ll tell you more as we’re at Eagle Chase. Try to break 80 golfers. Welcome back to the channel. I’m Alan with you guys. Interesting situation. We came out. We’ll get a break 80 at Eagle Chase. we got here and they are actively punching the back nine. So, we’re playing the front nine twice, which means the first time we play it through, we’re going to play it through the green T- box. The second time, we’re going to play it from the back just to try to give us a little bit of versatility and dynamicism that you wouldn’t normally get just playing the same nine over and over again. So, that’s what we’re going to do. Trying to break 80 here today. Like I said, this golf course is one of my all-time favorites out here in the Charlotte area. It’s a little bit of a drive about 40 minutes or so from that uptown area, but it’s definitely worth it. You’ll see exactly why if you have not seen the video before. Also, if you’re looking for all 18 holes, you can find that on the channel as well. It’s been done a couple of different times. But today, we’re trying to break 80. So, hopefully you guys are here for a fan of that. And we’re starting on the green tea box for hole number one. Little dog weight to the left. Not sure from this box if it’s three-wood or driver. Probably driver, but to cover some trees. Let’s have a good day. See if we can break 80. [Music] Good. Good. It’s off. Okay. All right, we found our ball. It was down here um in this little grally area. We’re not going to hit off that. So, we’re just going to put it in some grass. Hit a six iron. Get this back into the fairway. Somehow that didn’t hit a single tree branch. [Music] Nice shot, Alan. Thank you. Okay, tapping birds. Hole number two from the back box is a really difficult T-shot. You got a little bit more forgiveness here from the greens. Just a little bit more space to look at in the fairway. Um, just taking threewood out. Looking for about 260 yds. It’s not going to really roll out too much. So, this should be fine. Just trying to keep it inside the bunker. If it has a little bit of fade, that’s fine. There’s a bit of space on the right, but not as much as there looks. So, nothing too crazy. Just kind of going out to where that guy is in the middle of the fairway once he’s out of the fairway, of course. [Music] That’s real pretty. Thank you. You’re really pretty. No, I’m serious. Yeah, I think we’re just going to put those. Yeah, you were not kidding with how fast I thought it was going to be eaten alive on that. Hey, show me something one time. All right, hole three. First par three opportunity where you just don’t want to be left. Um, green does a little bit of a false front to it. Got a 151 number to the pin here though. So, we’re going to play a nine iron just right at it. A little bit to the right side. It’ll be fine. There is a slope in the middle of this green if I remember correctly. So, if we catch it, should kind of trickle down towards it, but we just don’t want to be left, that’s all. Here we go. Well, is that it? Hit it. Hit it. Oh. Oh, no. Save it. Oh. All right. Sloppy. Bad nine iron. All right. All right. There was a bunch of tall grass back there we did have to drop. So that would be a double for us there. Couldn’t quite get that pitch up again. Really heavy stuff around these greens. So not terrible. About one over. Not lose our heads. Just bad I all that is. Okay. After the double, we’ve got a dog leg to the right here where we could take driver. Uh and the boxes are actually playing the same here for the blue and the green. So we’re going to take 3-wood just for now. Um, if we’re feeling really good with driver a little later on, we can try to play a fade off of this uh hole, but we’re just going to take three wood. Same idea. Still playing a bit of a fade just out there to where you can kind of see the cart path a little bit deeper. Hit the first one really well. Let’s do that again. Actually, lost it in the sun, but [Music] I got it. You got it? Yeah, I got it. Top of that mound. Yeah. They say it’s in that little cluster of trees. Not the ones that are parallel like the one to the left of us. Okay. All right. Too far left puts us in this pine straw. Taking a six. Just chipping something down. Got to stay away from these tree limbs. So, nothing too crazy. Played it up and down for pars is what we’re looking for. [Music] Yeah. Rolled up there really nicely actually. It’s just going to be a chip. Take that. [Music] Okay, back at that. Okay, we have another box that plays as the same as the back box. So, let me get a little bit of the same looks here and there. Got five irons. All we need. Um, there’s a small little gate that’s kind of on the right hand side. Looks like you’re going towards the trees. It’s actually where you want to be. If you’re left, it just falls off real really hard. So, got five iron. Nice smooth swing. Kind of off to the the trees. Right to the bill. [Music] That’s too far away. [Music] It’ll be all right. Going to bounce to the right. Yeah, that’s one of those shots. And for those of you who have not seen this golf course before, that probably looked really good off the tea because it nice nice and straight. The car passes over here. You just want to be more right. Everything kind of funnels on to the left. Got 140. Got a P wedge for it. Nice and easy. Little wind. Almost. Stay there. Please stay there. Okay. much peace. Okay, we got to go off the bogey train. Part one is not having a good time. We are on the bogey train. Kiss of death. Birdie the first. Okay, not the easiest part three in the world, but not the hardest here either. We got about a 162ish pin. Wind is a little hurting though as a back pin. We’re going to take a nice smooth like 3/4 eight iron. We shouldn’t get much roll out here. So, we’re going to put something pretty true to the number. We obviously don’t want to be super long. If we’re a little short, that’s okay. There is a ridge that also cuts from the bunker straight left across the screen. So, we got to carry that as well. So, lots of things to think about for this back pin. Tricky spot. That’s a further that caught a little thin again. Didn’t get that much run out, but that was sousy. What a save. Come on. We needed that. Yeah. Yeah, I will say now having played this course a handful of times, I feel like I am getting a better feel for these greens. There’s just way more slope around the complex than what it looks like as you’re looking at just the individual green itself. So, you kind of have to look at the whole whole surroundings to give yourself a little bit more of an idea of where the brakes are. Drivers back out par five. See if we can get a birdie here. It’s definitely achievable. It’s a dead straight hole. So, having a driver since the first. It didn’t feel good on the first. Let’s lock it in here for this second time for hole seven. Let’s go. [Music] Okay, left side of the fairway. Oh yeah, this is a good drive here. Uh, left side of the fairway. Got a good look at this pin about 191. We got a nice casual five iron just off the right side of this pin. Should be good from there. [Music] Whoops. That way you push it off the heel like that. Oops. Just lost the club at the top of the back swing. [Music] Stop [Music] away one there. did take advantage there. All right, there friends. We missed a chance to get a four there, but we’ll get a chance to go back at it again, which is kind of the fun thing about this format that we’re doing. Uh, this one is a shorter par4, especially from this front or up box from the back tea boxes. Just try to keep it inside uh this left bunker. Little speed slope up there so we can get something pretty darn close. Come on. Okay, 102 left. We are just on the left side here. Thought it was going to be a little bit more left than this, but we have caught a little bit of a kick right off this mound behind me. 58°. Right at it. Right at it. Okay. Not a perfect contact. Do it. Oh, stop turning. [Music] Nice. Hey, come on now. Yep. Come on now. All right, there. Purple average golfers. Distill three over. Heading into the last before we do it again. Drivers out here. Short one. Just going to take it in between the two bunkers that are up the middle of the fairway. Lots more space left than there is right, but there is also forgiveness right with the pine straw. So, pretty open again with all the elevation that’s out here, all the slided fairways. This front nine has more forgiveness in it uh than the back nine does. So, here we go. Driver. [Music] Really hope you guys have been enjoying the content lately. Having a lot of fun this year, even though the golf has just been kind of okay. We’ve had a couple of good rounds. The most recent one of Grand was awesome. If you missed that video, go check it out. Got about 115 yards here back pin. 54° again. Just trying to keep it off to the left hand side. Just touch. Even pushing things just a little bit more than I’d like, but it’s locking in. Okay, short. Take it. Little morning round here for you guys. And I woke up just feeling it in my like inside my left shoulder blade. Feel like we’re not quite getting the extension that we want in the back swing from that and just not finishing the swing through which is I think causing some of these pushes. Um and then with the driver is what’s causing us to kind of get the toe there first cuz I know I’m not completing the swing. So I’m just kind of snapping the hands through just a little bit more than I normally would. But got a birdie putt. See if we can convert that. Run away with a really decent scrambling nine and then do it all over again from the back. Come on. Finish off. Hey, come on. That’s how you finish. All right, back to one. Same dog leg, but for the back box this time. Got driver again. Just trying to hug that tree line from this angle. Uh, hidden a bit of a draw. So for long, we’re inside of it. We should be good. [Music] Oh, great ball there. All right. Much better than the first. Middle of the fairway. 220. We’re taking four on a little helping win. Let’s see what we get. Run in the wind. Oh Good shot. in the win. [Music] The first choice. See if we kiss a death for the second nine again. It’s a nice nice set of shots around that par five. Threewood still out here just inside the bunker. Little helping win now. Here we go. Just barely. Okay. All right. We just hung on to the thick stuff. 140 P wedge. Just want to keep it left again. We don’t want to miss the right side. This pin is really far right. So off the mound. Playing a little golf. Playing a little golf. Come on, baby. Stay up. Kind of feels like a crew is playing botchi ball or something right now. Yum. Let’s pack up now. Okay, anyone? Yeah, vibes right now are pretty immaculate because of just playing front nine. We ended up joining up like you guys can see with two other groups. We’re playing as a six ball right now out here. It’s just it’s a lot of fun. Course is in great shape. Um they did of course just punch the front before they started punching the back. Greens are soft. We’re getting a lot of spin, a lot of sit on the greens with those high wedges. Um so good stuff overall. Let’s hit this par three with the same start we did last time. So what we’re not going to do here is hit a blade and n iron. We got 172 this time. Got seven iron. Little tight draw right off the middle of the green. Set nice and flush. [Music] I used That’s right. That’s putt. No way. Okay. Yeah, [Music] it’s there. It’s there. All right. So, you’re right. Keeps in the water. Keep your mouth up, my boy. I said no, I’m not. All right, back to hole number four. Mid300. Still got that 3-wood. Trying to hit a fade this time. Here we go. Playing real solid, friends. Just got to lock it off the T- box and we’re good to go. Come on. [Music] Uh, I mean you can push draw, too. It works. All right. That’s a little more like it there, friends. We got 116 left. Again, this front pan is a little dangerous. So, we’re going to go with the saw off 50° little 3/4 swing. See if we can control the spin a little bit. We’re supposed to look. We’re putting ourselves in good spots right now. [Music] Tell you what, that’s the distance. That’s a great shot. Come on. That one’s definitely there. Thought I thought we didn’t help you out with the teeth. [Music] Come on. Come on. Keep the guard clean. Like the boys said, we’re taking six iron this time, not five iron. Again, just keeping this a little further out to the right. Let’s keep it up, boys and girls. This is It’s a lot of fun. I really hope you guys are enjoying this video. We’re having a great time out here. Yeah, there you go. Perfect. [Music] Perfect. Turn feet a little. It’s there. Yeah. Great ball. Take it. Oh, from the hole. Good. Stop rolling. Yep. [Music] Go. [Music] Thank you. Thank you. All right, keep it clean. You guys won’t see the the green from here. Got about 177. Wind is a little all over the place. We’re taking an easy sixiron. Let’s keep it on the middle of the green here. Come on. Let’s keep it clean. Oh no. Down there. Yeah, we’ll see if we can find it. Stakes. All right. Being an athlete here. All right. Oh, go slow on that one. Yes. Yeah. Good line. Okay. Yeah. We’ve been chilling in there. You guys are down there. That’s Nick. Okay. We’ve had a couple sloppy par threes, but everything else has been pretty much on the rails. Back to this dead straightaway par five. Pulling significantly deeper than the green box here. But driver. See if we can make up for it. [Music] Oh no. Yeah. Yeah. A little little damage control here. Just going to punch a five iron. Get it out there. Par five. Not bad for the first bat swing of the day. Really? [Music] Yeah. Thank you. [Music] Oh, it’s right. Ah. Nah. Don’t go to the bunker. That’s short of it. Oh no. It’s so heavy. So heavy. The moist comet. Got him. Oh, eat it. Ridge. Yeah. How does that not Oh man, that’s not a good That’s not good. Oh, bump. Holy bounce. Goodness. I bounced right off one of these holes. One inch in front of you. Yeah, I didn’t know you put it with your 58 for real. Good finish, right? I got to focus up now. Two doubles in a row. Not good. 44. Dead straight away here though. Driver. See if we can block this swing in. Get us something pretty to look at in the middle of the fairway. Hopefully. [Music] All right. You pushing these wedges. It’s out there. You got to like one. They’re going to look at this like they’re all playing too much. Hit the house. Hit a house. Hit a house. Hit it. What the bounce? [Music] I was playing a green ball. Well, you got yours. Oh, right at the end. No, you have yours. Shoot. I got a hardest. We’re not going to hit our goal. Oh my gosh. We better be fast. These old people look like they’re they’re mean ones. All right, we’re at seven. We got a par this last one, boys and girls. See you guys. We definitely can. Let’s keep the driver going. Nice. Hit an iron. Hit a wedge. Don’t push it. Be good. Lock in here. We got a little bit screwy with the sixman, but let’s lock in. Okay. Come on. [Music] Great ball, Alan. Hey. Oh. gave it a chance. Good roll, Alan. Fives are too high. Fives are too high. All right, there friends. We got a little squirrely there. We were queen card and then we went double double bogey bogey. Technically speaking, and I know if you haven’t watched the series before, we say 80 or under. Uh, we’re g to give ourselves the win, but I think we’re really really close to just saying it’s has to be under 80. We give ourselves a little bit of forgiveness because if I say if we shoot 80, we had a great time. That’s that’s that’s the ideal level of golf what we want. So, two birdies, three doubles, one three putt, I think, is all we had today on that hole eight. Uh, everything else pretty solid all the way through and through. Considering the swing didn’t feel perfect necessarily. A little unfortunate that one guy from the staff is just not vibing with us having a six-man win. It’s nine holes only. They’re not blocking off tea times when the first groups that go off come out. So, it’s just like, what do you want us to do? But the vibes are high. We had a lot of fun out here. Hopefully, you guys had a lot of fun watching. And I’m not sure what we’re going to have coming up next. We will be playing once in the Gatlinburg area. I think we’re actually playing Gatlinburg Golf Club. And then we’re going to be in Toronto for a couple of rounds after that, but we’ll see if we can fit in uh one more round around Charlotte somewhere. uh just kind of vibe out and try to complete this uh review list that we have, which by the way, we are going to be posting a ranking list of all the golf courses with all the details, tea time costs, conditions, all the rankings, all the ratings that you’d want for all the elements of a golf round. That’s going to be live very, very soon. So, make sure you stay in touch with that. Sub right now if you have not done so already while I try to break 100, 90, or 80. Make sure you stay perfect. Bye-bye. [Music]

Eagle Chase is one of the best golf courses in the Charlotte area and today we are back at it again trying to BREAK 80 from the tips!

  1. love the course played there many times but iam done with the vid in the first 2 min. took a drop and no stroke penalty for moving the ball way closer. if i do that i would brake 75 on every course i play to my guy come on now. take a penalty for missing the fairway that was on you

  2. I love Eagle Chase, I took my dad there for is birthday. Sad you didn't get to play the back, its got some beautiful scenery.

  3. 100% one of the best courses. 100% the worst cart path. Ended up having to drive back 200 yards on 10 and the spot where it switch backs is a curve. Ended up flipping the cart there and breaking my ankle. The club house guys were more concerned about their cart than me.

Was it my fault? Kind of. Did they need to be dicks about it? No. Haven’t been back since. It’s a shame because I love the course. Mostly because it’s the middle of no where and there is NOTHING go on around you as you play. No trucks, no highway. Only you and the course.

  4. When did you film this. Was about to go play, but I don’t want my last time playing before shoulder surgery to be on punched greens

  5. Saw you did one in Greensboro. If you are interested, I’ll be in Archdale next Saturday morning at Holly Ridge if you wanna try that one out with us. Just let me know

  6. The course giveth and the course taketh away! Pretty typical start to the first 3 holes for me (except it's usually +1 on every hole lol)

  7. Love the hat! I moved down to the Greenville area last year. I have a tournament coming up at Eagle Chase – thanks for the inside look at the front 9!
