Kai Trump has released a statement on the death of close family friend Charlie Kirk.

The high school senior, who is set to play golf at the University of Miami next year, took to her Instagram Story to react to the death of the conservative influencer. Kirk, 31, was shot and killed at an event in Utah on Wednesday afternoon. The Illinois native was speaking on campus at Utah Valley University. He was shot in the neck and rushed to the hospital, where he ultimately died.

President Donald J. Trump released a statement on his passing.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!” he wrote.

“In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.”

Kirk, who had millions of followers across YouTube and social media, was a close friend of the Trump family.

Wednesday night, Kai Trump, who has developed a big-time following on social media, released a statement.

“I am deeply saddened to hear the news about Charlie Kirk,” Trump posted on her Instagram Story. “My heart goes out to his wife Erika and their two children. He was a close family friend and our thoughts and prayers are with them during this tragic time. Rest in peace Charlie.”

Several in the sports world have chimed in on Charlie Kirk’s passing, too, including Tim Tebow.

“I’m shocked and devastated to learn about the passing of Charlie Kirk,” Tebow wrote on X. “Above all else, Charlie was a follower of Jesus, a husband, and a dad. He was a man of passion, courage, and devoted his life to make an eternal impact.”

Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre added: “I’m at a loss for words. Only thing I can think of is tragic. Please keep Charlie Kirk and his family in your prayers.”
