I've hit up someone a few times. Almost every single one was because I don't ever hit it that far and suddenly I did. One was like a 280+ yard 3 wood shot and I normally don't go further than 210 and more like 200.
My wife was with me and drove down and was looking for my ball around 80 yards out.
Suddenly, they are walking off and my ball is all the way in the back of the green. One of them said they saw my cart all the way down and couldn't believe the shot either.
Still, felt bad.
The other I was behind this hill and couldn't see the green so I waited where I could watch them finish and they did. They were driving off and everything so I go back, line up my shot, and launch it. I come around and they had stopped right in front of the green, gotten out, and were passing out shots to each other. I had just gone over their heads.
I didn't feel bad about that one and one of the guys I was playing with called up to have someone talk to them about slow play and holding people up.
If a bigger group is behind you and hitting up, might be time to let them play through or pick up the pace.
Some asshole almost killed me the other day, you better believe I picked that thing up and drove away with it
