The original knit golf shoe from True Linkswear was launched in 2018 and the latest edition, Knit Four, has been enhanced further using the best elements of previous models to create a shoe for all day performance on and off the golf course.
It’s a new brand for me to test, but I know True Linkswear is continuing to grow in popularity, so I was looking forward to finding out how it fared against some of the other best women’s golf shoes.
For a start, I really like the strapline printed on the insole and outsole – TRUE – ENJOY THE WALK. It’s a great reminder for golfers and is the reason why the Knit was born, as the founders wanted to create a versatile shoe that provides comfort and flexibility for all-day wear.

I’ve raved about the weight of FootJoy’s Fuel, Ecco’s Biom H5 Textile and Under Armour’s Phantom Fore golf shoe, but if you’re looking for one of the lightest women’s golf shoes this one really excels, which is largely due to the stretch knit upper.
I tested this shoe in a navy/cream colorway, but it’s also available in grey or white. It looks stylish with a touch of suede-like fabric at the heel, which holds your foot in nicely thanks to the foam heel lock, and the same fabric is also around the toe area and either side of the lacing system. I would say that it’s more of a wide than narrow fit.

I must admit, given this shoe looks and feels like a slipper, I was concerned that it wouldn’t provide enough support to feel in control from the ground up, but in fairness, the outsole delivers more than satisfactory grip and traction for a comfortable round. It doesn’t offer the same support as, for example, the Adizero ZG golf shoe from Adidas or G/Fore’s MG4+ O2 G/Lock shoe, but this is a very different offering.
This is definitely a summer shoe, ideal to pack for holiday golf, and the best thing, if they do get dirty, you can throw them in the washing machine! I was very impressed because they are one of the most comfortable golf shoes for women that will take you anywhere.
