Best 9 Hole Golf Course In Scotland? Woodlands at Glencoe Review
Right, legends. Welcome back to the channel. So, we’re here at Woodlands um at Glen Co today, which is Bunk according to Bunker was one of the best or the best nine-hole golf courses in Scotland. Um this was a few years ago. So, I’ve had a look through the websites and there are a couple others that have that have come onto the scene, but obviously there’s a reason that they’ve said that and I wanted to come and check it out today. So, it’s quite cool here. They’ve got like um these sort of little chalets or um almost like a glamping pod. They’ve got loads of those. So, you can come check those out. There’s a beautiful food truck here uh that’s run by Jim. We’ll go and give him a a little shout out in a second. But I just wanted mostly for you guys to see the course today. That’s the biggest thing. So, haven’t seen the course at all. We’re going to get some drone footage of it, which will look brilliant hopefully. And the plan today golfwise is I don’t know, maybe let’s try and shoot sort of three three over. I think that’s a good shot. I’ve been struggling hugely with the hips at the moment. So, uh putting wise. So yeah, putting with a wedge, we’ll start with a putter, see what happens. But gosh, it’s been tough. So yeah, if I can putt, then we can score. If I can’t, then we’ll just have some fun, check the course out, and hopefully you guys um hopefully enjoy it. So let me know what you think I’m going to shoot. Um tell me if you’ve been to the course before in the comments. Um let me know what you thought of it. This whole area is absolutely stunning. It really, really is. Um we played yesterday, which will be another video coming out, Glen Coutin, which is Bobby Mac’s home course. So that’ll be a brilliant one for you to see as well. Let’s go and see Jim. Okay, Jim. Round two. So tell me tell me when you’re open. 12 to 8 in the morning. Yeah. And then 5 to 8 at night time. Seven days a week. 5 to 8 at night time. Seven days a week. Yeah. Okay. Perfect. Is this the same menu? Yeah. So this is fresh. Right. So this is what we had this morning, guys. Um I had the big the big Scotty which is named after me. Anyway, but listen, come and see, guys. come and have a look at Jim and his his food truck here cuz honestly it was it was stunning. So, um yeah, we’ll go from there. Let’s go and play some golf. The guys, this view is superb. Absolutely superb. What is this view? Honestly, the most incredible view I’ve ever seen on a golf course. What’s that, love? DIY hole one. It’s called the hungry lime tree. 304 par 4. So, I’m thinking I’m going to try and go with the five iron. I don’t know, maybe straight over this tree here if I can. That’s Alice’s ball teed up, by the way. They don’t just tee up balls for you. Oh, tracer. Don’t need a tracer. That’s awesome. That’s so cool. Oh boy. Let’s go. Right on. 91 to a green. All these greens that I’ve been playing the last couple of days, I’ll say all these greens, last two courses have been like these upside down sauce pins. So, um, yeah, 91. It’s kind of like a full 58. Come on. Um, yeah, I think it’s really good. I’ve taken half the fairway out. Okay. Well, I’ve made a decision. The wedge is coming out earlier than expected. I’ve got a birdie putt and I quite Yeah, I don’t know. I just quite like to sink one of the wedge early on. Okay, not too bad. Yeah. See, there’s no twitchies with a wedge. It’s really, really bizarre. put a putter in my hand right now and at impact it’s like whoop right par three called the fairerryyman’s fluke. Apologies for you guys being a bit lower again. You’re kind of behind the tea box in the bush. So hopefully you can see me. Um what is this? It’s got So basically it says here 185. It says 175 from the from the trail from the laser. So got 7 iron basically just straight at it. Get in the hole. Oh, it was a bit short. Oh, no. It’s kind of run up a bit. It bounced quite hard. We’re putting We’re putting We’re putting Happy Days. Okay, we’re sticking. We’re sticking with a wedge. I’m doing it. I’m sticking with it. And we’re going to make a birdie today. With a wedge. We’re going to make a birdie. I promise you that. Okay. Slightly up the hill. probably bl uh breaking bling breaking a bit left to right to start actually maybe the whole way now that I’m over this. Let’s see what happens. I’m going to go kind of box of balls left. Oh man. Okay, they’re they’re much slower than yesterday, but that’s fine. I don’t mind that as long as I know. Well, that’s what I was going to say. I was like, could you put the pin back there? Okay, let’s try and finish off here. Right. The boy has started reasonably. Come on. I mean, legends, tell me where you’ve seen views like this. I don’t know if it looks as good as it does on camera as it does here. But this is unreal. Maybe Bamp Springs, but this is Yeah. really unique. [Music] Okay, third hole. It’s called the can in the cabbage. So, yeah. Basically, see, I’m on yellow again. I’ve gone white. I’ve gone yellow, white, yellow. I want to play off white, which would be a par five here, but I can’t get far enough past the tea cuz basically on every back of the tea is bush. So, I’m going to play off here. I’m going to play it as a par4. So, just we’ll do a bit of sort of both. Um, as a par 4 can in the cabbage. Interesting. It’s just 281, but then it’s 345 from the white. So, I have no idea. So, I’m going to I’ll play as a par four. I’ve got four iron. We’re just going to go straight through the middle basically. That’s that’s what I think the play is here. Or I’ll just tow it and it’s going to be fine. Perfect. I think I can’t think that I’m going to have more than sort of 130 in really. So, we’ll see. Okay, we’ve ended up quite nicely actually. So, 92 slightly. Well, it’s all adjusted. So, 92 is not going to spin very much. The ball is properly wet. So, center of the greenish and kind of go from there. Got 58. Get in the hole. spit. Yeah, boy. Yeah, that’s ended up knocked nicely. Okay. Well, I’m quite glad I didn’t play this as a par five cuz if I had an eagle putt after hitting four iron, 58 wedge, I’d feel just probably like a little bit guilty, I reckon. But we have got a birdie putt, which is good. So, let’s see if we can see if we can get under par. That’d be fun with with a wedge. Okay, just from the right ever so slightly. Oh, I had it. Had the line. Oh, man. So close. But a par. We shall not complain. Okay, back into the mountain. 384 par4 called the dragon’s tooth. Need to get these right so I don’t get slated in the comments. Um, okay. I’ve got two iron. straight up the guts really. I think stunning lake behind if I think I’ll think I’ve shown you guys already. Uh touch leaky. It’s going to be just in the right rough. I think it’ll be fine. Just ever so slightly leaky, right? 165. It’s sitting down. I don’t know. I think I think this will come through. All right. I really do. But I’ve got a 79 anyway. It’s slightly uphill. That is adjusted, but so I reckon it’ll play closer to 170. Anyway, let’s just give it a crack. Give it a rip and see what happens. Yeah, it was quite thick, but it’s come out really nicely to be honest. Sit down now. Well, I could have hit eight. Anyway, we’re going to have a I’m going to show you this divot. Check how long this thing is. Let’s check with my foot here. [Laughter] Sometimes, man, this game, right? So, I thought I thought I was long, but actually it’s actually all right to be honest. So, yeah, this is going to be quicker evidently than the last one than the last few putts. But, uh, we just need to get it started on a good line. I think it’s going to be sort of like a meter out right and then it’ll just fall back. Okay. All right. I genuinely thought that would be quicker, but evidently not. You want me to finish? Okay, I’ll go for it. I think I’m better from that range of the wedge than a putter. Right, guys. Another par four. Um 324 is called Morgan’s Courage. So right pretty much straight in front of you guys down at the end there, there’s just a little clump of trees. That is where I’m aiming. And we’re going to go short of that. And then it’s a hard dog leg left. Six iron in hand. I mean, I can thin it and do that. That was a lovely shot. Is that got to sit? No, it’s perfect. That will play 135 to the pin. Not much else. Just a 146. Sorry, just a a 46 degree. It’s a bit long this fairway here. So, I don’t know how much this is going to spin, but we’ll see. Oh my god. Well, that was interesting. That’s such a weird swing. Oh well, let’s go and find it. Right, first blunder. Yeah, first blunder of the round. Such a weird swing. I don’t know what happened there. Anyway, so it’s gone into here, which you guys can’t really see. Just like thick bush or behind and there’s a path and there’s more thick bush. So, I don’t know. So, we got 58 just dropped. So, we’re playing two, drop three, we’re playing four. Get in or sit down. Okay, we got a putt for bogy at least. All righty, we’ve got an option. Got a chance. Yes, boy. So, we only dropped one, which is huge because the doubles are destructive. So, come on. New hole called Duck. If you’re Scottish, please don’t hate me. Um, 254, five iron cuz to the other side of that fairway, there’s like a a ditch that runs up the center or a B, a B or a B, something like that. It’s going to run up from left to right. So, I need to clear that but not go over the fairway on the other side. So plan think that’s going to be perfect. Yeah, chose the right club. Happy days. Okay, possible birdie. Look 50 yards just up a hill. Come on. [Laughter] I’m so short. Oh man, I’ve gone so long on some of these shots sometimes when I’m playing that distance and I’m just just needed more. Well, we’re running out of holes for this little birdie. So, this is a good option here. I know we’re not that close, but it’s a good it’s a good chance. We just got to get it up there. Stop that. Oh my days. See, when I hit that, I thought it was going to be like 4 m past. So close. Okay. 130. Let me get you the whole name quickly. What are we on? Seven. fast track. Not sure why, but it is fast track. I’m hoping here I can hit a sort of low one because then it’s I don’t need that tracer and you guys can watch it into the mountain. But yeah, 130 I’ve got a 46°. Um yeah, just straight at the pin really is the plan anyway. No, that’s such a bad swing. Wow, it’s there. Just a pooy swing. One thing you guys must remember is if you come play here, bring MIJ repellent. In South Africa, we call them mis midgetes. They bite like Okay. Chances of chipping quite low. But there’s always a butt. There’s always a butt. Or I can just just throw it way past. That’s also an idea, right? So, we’re sitting at one over. What did I say in the beginning? I can’t even remember. I think it was two or three over. Anyway, this putt’s important for either of those two numbers. So, come on. Come on. I might just I might just throw the putter away if I’m honest. Like, what’s the point? Okay. Par 4 390 called the burn. down doing the burn. So down the burn. Um 390. I’ve got two iron. Yeah. I mean I can’t really see much other than just trying to go sort of straight down or straight up the guts really. So let’s let’s have a crack at that. Oh, that’s the best two on I think I’ve ever hit in my life. We’ll take it. I’m just punching out. Right, guys? While best two iron ever has got the worst lie ever. So, I didn’t know this thing was here. It doesn’t say it on the course map, which is frustrating, but it is what it is. Um, so I’ve got a 46. It’s literally got a clump of soil on it the size of Kilamanjaro. So, I don’t even know what’s going to happen here. I’ve got a big chunk of grass behind the ball. Yeah, we’re just going to going to see what happens. I mean, yeah. Okay. Well, I’ve played Dan’s YouTube rules here. I just cleaned the ball off. There’s no way I’m playing with that bloody Kilamanjaro thing. So, please don’t hate me. But, um, okay. I’m going to go straight over. The green is just over the corner here. So, I’ve got 54 degrees. It’s about 105 yardsish. I think it’s a pretty much a full one. I think that’s going to be good to be honest. Right guys, one chance, one opportunity. I’m sorry. That was really bad. Yeah, that that’s just to seize everything I ever wanted. Okay, I’ll stop. I’ll stop now. Right. Is this for par? One drop. No, no, I didn’t drop actually. One, two, three. Yeah, this is for par. This would be a huge paw. Um, come on. I think it’s kind of straightish. I mean, I gave it a I gave it a crack, which is great. So, we’ve got about 3 foot four. Yeah, boy. Okay, that takes us to two over. Two over with one’s play. Go. Okay, we’ve made it to the ninth. Um, it’s called the assassin. So, it’s a 200 yard par three. I think it’s par three, but anyway. Um, don’t think it’d be called the assassin if it was a par four. I’ve got five iron. Uh, it’s a touch towy, but I think it’s there. Yeah, we’re pardon. We’re putting, baby. All right, guys. Let’s finish strong. Let’s finish strong here. Come on. Can we have a little last ditch long effort birdie putt on the last? Stranger things have happened. Bubba Watson’s shot out of the trees in the masters. That was stranger. Come on. Get in. Get it. Oh my days. What an effort for the two over. And the guys, thank you so much for sticking around. So, um, yeah, we did it, which was cool. That’s probably the best I’ve putter with a wedge. I’ve only done it, I think, two full rounds now. Um, so that was a nine hole, which was decent. So, two is not bad. But the course, I hope you guys enjoyed it. Honestly, some of those holes into the mountain was just stunning. Thanks for sticking around. Uh, please don’t forget to like and subscribe. I know everybody says it, but it does make a big difference. So, we’ll see you guys next time. Cheers.

Best 9 Hole Golf Course In Scotland? Woodlands at Glen Co Review

This just looks unreal. Gotta make it out there to play!
Get that putter back in action!
Get yourself a lab df3.
Question on the tour 360 shoes. Are they decent? Looking for some winter shoes that are comfy, not too heavy but waterproof. My current Eccos are tired.
Mate it’s Glencoe… not “Glen Co”. If you’re going to review a course in one of Scotland’s most famous areas…get the name right for a start. 😂
