LARAMIE, Wyoming (9/10/25) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team gets its 2025-26 season underway this week at the Ram Masters Invite. The tournament stretches Thursday and Friday at the Fort Collins Country Club.
It’s a 54-hole tournament. Thirty-six of the holes will be contested Thursday with the final 18 occurring on Friday.
“The team is working hard and doing the right things,” head coach Joe Jensen said. “I’m trying to manage expectations. We will have so many peaks and valleys this season with such a young team that I don’t want to put too much on them.”
Many new faces are scattered around a couple well-known Cowboys. Kristof Panke and Brody Leid spearhead a group of five freshmen – Kellen Ball, Austin Barry, Brody Knowlton, Ryker Lind and Connor Scheich.
This tournament is a mainstay for Wyoming. In recent history, the Pokes have enjoyed three top-five team finishes in the last five Ram Masters, and their last champion was Dan Starzinski in 2018.
The 2025 tournament includes a field of 17 teams. The Cowboys will compete alongside UC San Diego, Illinois State, Colorado, Denver, Weber State, UC Santa Barbara, Utah Tech, Sacramento State, Wichita State, Utah State, CSUN, Utah Valley, UC Davis, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State and host Colorado State.
Following a trip to Fort Collins, Wyoming stays on the Front Range for the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite. That tournament takes place Sept. 20-22 at the Eisenhower Golf Course.
