[Music] Baby. Morning, sunshine. How’s it going, amigo? Not too bad. How are you? I don’t know how we’re going to go on the trailer. Ronnie can’t make this trip, so we’re without his truck. So, we got four guys in the truck. We got way too much stuff. You would think that we’re moving up permanently to North Dakota to stay there for the whole entire hunting season, but no, we’re only there for 5 days. Got to kick off the season, man. Season 13, I guess. Can you believe we’re doing it again? I mean, yesterday. I know. That’s crazy. It’s getting old. Where those cookies at? They’re here. It’s August 22nd. We’re headed to North Dakota for early Canada goose season. Just getting packed up here. It’s about 4 in the morning. We’re going to hit the road. Columbbo is uh flying up from Texas. Going to meet us there. Going to get there this afternoon. Get a scout in. Got the golf clubs this week. It’s a real good thing he’s flying cuz we ain’t got any room for it. I was going to say we got this thing packed down. We’re ready to roll. So, it’s going to be a good time. Looking forward to it. in your other truck, Canada. You know, one of the challenges of hunting early season geese up here, I’m going to say it’s the geese themselves. You know, because a lot of times this time of year, they’re so unpredictable, man. You can watch them in in a field in one spot for a couple days, and they’ll come out that day, you go and hunt them and do something totally different. I think what makes the early North Dakota season so unique is just the early aspect, the warmer temperatures. Um, you know, these birds, most of them have just hatched and the feeds are very, very small. So, for me, I like the scouting aspect of it. It’s you’re looking for cut fields um and you’re looking for big bodies of water that those birds are hopefully traveling, you know, two to three plus miles to get to the field. I can’t believe it’s already here. I mean, it feels like we were just up here last week doing the same thing. Well, y’all were y’all were Yeah, y’all were just here today fishing. Uh but yeah, it’s crazy. Season 13, dude. Hopefully, uh hopefully we can start it off on a good note. Hope we start off with a bag. Uh, but this is a good wheat field cut here. It’s right off a big roost and there’s probably I don’t know 150 200 out there. Yeah, probably 150. It’s about a good of an early season feed that you’ll find. [Music] There was a about 150 200 in here last night. Uh they were feeding up on this north side of this field. This uh this field runs east west with an alalfa field. It’s a barley or wheat field and they basically just trickled back to the southeast and they’re coming from the southeast. We got a strong northwest wind this morning. So, we’re going to set up right on this edge. We’re going to get it, boys. Nice, baby. That’s a knock. Here we go. That’s a good start. That’s what we want. Just getting kind of started here. First couple groups came out. We had one group come in and do it do it pretty nice. Last group came out, short stopped us, which is typical for early season geese, but there’s still a bunch more to come off. But should be good. [Music] Get it, boy. [Music] Got the one. Uh kind of struggling a little bit this morning. Some of these birds are want to short stop us out in the middle and trying to keep them moving, keep other ones coming in. But we’re slowly chipping away at a few of them anyways. But that was a good finish. [Music] I guess if every goose did it right, they’d all be dead, right? this morning coming at you with a first light fit check. I’m rocking the Navigator hoodie on the outside and underneath I got the Wick. You know, everybody knows the Wick hoodie is pretty much a staple for any of us pretty much every day we’re hunting. Uh but the Wick and then the Navigator on top. This thing’s great, guys. Nice, lightweight, little bit of fleece inside. Just enough to keep that cool cool breeze off of you. On the bottom, I’m rocking the 308 pants. Uh great early season setup, man. Look at that spiral time, bro. They call me Joey Dimes. We good. We need it. I don’t care. Going fishing. Going to see if we can’t catch us some dinner. There’s eight. There’s 16. That’s a 16 incher. Might be more like 21 northern pickrol. It’s good to be back here in North Dakota. For years, I’d always come on this trip for the early Canada goose season. It’s fun to hunt geese in August. It’s always a challenge, but always a good time. Uh especially being here with Mike and Cody and the guys. Hunted this morning. Shot about 13 birds. Had a really good time. We’re out here on the banks. Water’s a little choppy. Didn’t get the boat out. So, just catching some walleye off the bank here. A couple of guys already caught fish. So, we’re going to get out and scout. Got a couple fields waiting, but we’re going to get out and put a solid plan together for this week. It’s It’s going to be a lot of fun. So, looking forward to it. [Music] Let me see. you know, sit right up in the middle there. I mean, I kind of like what Evan was saying about being in that flat spot. Give them a little runway. I mean, there’s quite a few out there. And you think come in buck 25. What do you think? 125, 130, 40? Yeah. 130. And you think this, you said we’d come in off this section on the south side? Yep. Cut right in that corner. But it’s they’re in like the green stuff. Yeah. We’re going to have to get some more grass. Yeah. We’re going to have to get some more grass for the blinds for for some top cover if we’re going to middle him. [Music] So, I don’t even need it back, [Music] but I got snacks. Doesn’t look like we’re going to need him anyway. Today was the day to leave the bullets in the truck. Get him, Jack. Get him, Jack. Got him. All right. He sounded high. He was pretty high. Not too proud. Now we can go. We done. The skunk is out, baby. Great. The skunk is out. I knew I could rely on you. Thank you. I got that, too. That was sweet. Did you have the glasses on? I did. Yeah. Woo. [Music] You could not ask for a better day slicing golf. Yeah, it is beautiful out. 20 bucks. It is literally 65°. Let’s do nice little breeze. I like that. Partly cloudy. We’re going to enjoy this. It’s a real juicy day. It’s a real juicy day. [Music] Uh we just finished up a afternoon of golf. We’re going to head back, get some things dropped off here, everything. Maybe grab a quick bite. But uh we need to get back out and get scouted here tonight. I think we picked up permission on one here today. So we definitely need to follow up on that and see what some other birds are going doing. So we hopefully got the next couple days. Mike EQ sitting here watching this field that uh we’re going to more than likely hunt tomorrow. We got out here, I don’t know, 30, 45 minutes ago. There was already some in the field. We sat here, watched, oh, I don’t know, three, four groups now. Come in there. Got a pretty good bead on uh where exactly we think they’re going to be roosted. Um it seems like they’re flying from pretty good ways away, so it should be good. It’s a good hide. Uh it should be good as long as they come out and cooperate. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Get it, boys. That is how we want them every time, huh? Get them, boys. There’s two or three groups still coming. [Music] Get them, boys. [Music] All right, day three, North Dakota. We’re uh just getting wrapped up here. It’s quarter to 10. Birds pretty much quit flying. Uh they came out a little later uh today than they did yesterday, you know, and we had a couple groups come out and do it just right this morning. Felt good, especially after yesterday and going single goose one for one yesterday. But uh man, these early season geese, they will humble you. They really will. It’s a challenge. It’s funny. Always a challenge when you think like you got them figured out. Oh, they’ve been in there a couple days. This is what they’re doing. And then, man, yesterday they just didn’t do what they were doing. But anyway, this morning they came out and we had a couple groups do it just right. It felt good. Um, but it’s a beautiful day here. No wind. I think we’re going to go try to get out on the lake, catch a couple walleye, see if we can’t locate a couple quick. It’s going to be freaking beautiful, though. Good work. Our truce is definitely color. [Music] Slip it. Hey, [Music] let’s go. [Music] I’m not. Lean up. She He said, “Gotcha.” You lean up towards Cody so he gets the audio. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They’re in a killing spot for sure. Well, they’re they’re right where they’ve been the last two days, too. Aside from the the fluke last night when they just didn’t show up. But there’s a runway on the west side there, or sorry, the south side there. And that lady goes and checks her cattle. So, yeah, she could have busted them out of there, but they’re right where we want them to be, right on that fence line on the south side. They’re coming. They’re They’re all in one big bunch, too. Yeah. And they’re We thought they might be coming, you know, from the northeast, but it seems like they’re coming more from the southeast, but they’re taking a path. They come northwest path and straight towards us down the line. Yeah. Yeah, that looks good. I mean, this is it’s the best feed we’ve seen all week. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. And they’ve been in here. No, they’ve been in here since at least Saturday. Didn’t the Didn’t the lady say that her grandson or something might be hunting it or something? He was going to, but it doesn’t I don’t feel like he ever did cuz they were in here yesterday morning. Yeah. So, he missed out. Yeah. I mean, yeah, there’s a good good clip of them in there. Last morning here in North Dakota. Uh, we keep an eye on this feed for a couple days. Probably the biggest numbers we’ve seen since we’ve been here. Uh, just getting set up here. Adding a little color here to our table three panel blinds. Getting the spread set. Uh it should be a good morning. Going to get back out on the golf course this afternoon and uh pack up and head home tomorrow. These birds last night were right on the edge of the disc in the undis. So we’re throwing a little bit bigger spread this morning for visibility. Putting half the decoys out into the um undis stuff and then half of them in the disc stuff. And we’re kind of just spacing them out, putting them in family groups, running around this edge. and then just made a little pocket for them with, you know, a little three to five pack that kind of looked like they just landed in the hole. So, that’s what we’re doing today. A little bigger spread for early season, but we’re trying to pull them over to this edge right on this disc line kind of where they were last night. And we uh wanted to go bigger for the visibility this morning. So, should be a good morning. Going to be a good way to wrap up this trip in North Dakota. Those are our birds. Yeah. Are you loaded? Yeah. Are you ready to pop? All right. [Music] Get them, boys. That was a mop job. That’s how you mop them up. Got more coming. [Music] [Music] Get him, bud. Nice. Watch that one. Prepare. Get him. No. No. No. Wait. Wait. Wait. Sorry. Here we go. Back right shoulder. Three. Go, boys. [Music] Yeah, Mike. Big Mike’s here. More [ __ ] groups do it this morning. I mean, they’re just finishing right. We’re shooting good. Uh, this one’s not over. We got a lot more birds coming. So, getting hot and heavy. [Music] Get him, boys. [Music] Dude, munched. Now we’re goose hunting, boys. Now we’re goose. [Music] What? Huh? Roll it. I got two bands. Okay. It’s true. Bet you that doesn’t work that way now, does it? Follow me. What’s up, gigglies? What do we got going on, boys? Huh? We just popped up a pile of geese. I just want to let you know the far left three far left birds I tripled on. No, you didn’t. And they’re all three banded. No way. Oh my god. Look at him. Triple. Oh my god. Oh my word. How cool is that? That is unbelievable. That’s sick. We got him. Can I have one? We got them. Was that whole? Yeah, you can have one. I got three of them. I got plenty to give around. Thanks, dude. Was it Was that whole flock banded? I don’t know, but all three left birds were all banded. Oh, man. Awesome. So, that one that peeled out the back. That one that peeled out of the bag. No way. That one that swung out the back. I knew I should have went and picked those up. [Music] Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Oh, [Music] all right. Yeah, I’m good. I smoked that one. Wrapping this up. Great way to finish it. About a 40 pack before 8:00. Can’t beat it. I’m going to drink a 40 pack before 8:00. That’s how you do it. That’s how you finish an early season trip right there. 40 and three bands. [Music] My favorite part about this trip specifically, um, we had three solid hunts and and that’s a a tough thing to do up here is is to be consistent with the birds because the birds are so inconsistent. So to be up come up here and have um consistently good hunts three of the four days we were here um and one of the better hunts that we’ve had up here in 10 days uh was today. So 40 birds in a band that that’s about all you can ask for. There’s literally couldn’t have done anything else this morning to do any better. So um great way to top everything off on this trip and uh always look forward to coming back the next year. So I just do it in one hit. Yeah. Get him up top, boys. Oh no. Heads up. Heads up. Heads up, dude. Watch out, man. Yeah.
