are ready to go. Going to watch this Lions game. Lions versus Packers. We have got a Jameson Williams contract extension here. $83 million over three-year deal. That’s pretty solid money for what I think he is. I think it’s a really solid wide receiver. Um trending towards maybe being an elite player at some point, but right now he’s just a really good deep threat, but he’s also kind of a little more than a deep threat. He has definitely been good at like contested catches kind of situations, things like that lately. Um, I feel like last year was definitely his best season and he keeps getting better every year, so that’s very good. Um, I am slightly worried about the Lions uh playing against the Packers with Micah Parsons. Definitely, it’s kind of like he’s an insanely good player, definitely one of the best players in the NFL. And the Lions have a lot of inexperience on the interior of their offensive line now with Christian Mahogany, I believe, starting at left guard. He played a few games last year. He’s not a bad player, but he’s young. Um, and you also have um the center we brought in. I forget his name, but he played here for a few years and then went to Denver and uh now he’s kind of back. Uh he’s going to be our center. And then we have the rookie Rattlage going to be playing right guard. So really three guys that have really never played together before. And one of them is a rookie and one of them is a second year player. Only had a few games played last year. So really just inexperience in the interior of the offensive line is something that would definitely worry me for a game like this against someone like Michael Parsons who has shown throughout his career that he has the ability to beat up on inexperienced guards definitely undersized offensive linemen. So we will see how that goes. Uh yeah hopefully they can win. That’d be a big game on the road versus the Packers. Um, yeah. Let’s see. We also had the Frank Ragno retirement. Pretty big deal. Uh, definitely one of the best players in the NFL. And, uh, definitely one of the best centers in the NFL. Maybe maybe the best center in the Lion history of Detroit Lions. Could very well be possible. He’s been a really good player and uh not having him there will be really tough. Um yeah, that definitely hurts as a Lions fan. Obviously, you wish he would have retired like before the draft, but like I’m sure the Lions kind of maybe knew it was possible that would happen. So, it’s not like incredibly surprising as a hardcore Lions fan, but also definitely not not something I wouldn’t trust his coaching staff to deal with. The Lions have done a pretty good job with the offensive line under um under um with Dan Campbell and stuff. So, I I definitely feel like it’s something we can probably trust that they will continue to bring guys in and upgrade the offensive line, especially the interior. The offensive line is a bit easier to replace guys. Tackles are usually the harder positions to find good starters. Um, yeah. So, I’m hoping hoping that Rattage will be a really good player. Also that defensive tackle out of a house state should be hopefully good player versus a run especially. Um yeah, just trying to get my video set up here. It keeps messing up. There we go. Okay. Not sure why having a bit more issues today getting the streams going. Usually I have like no problems, but today has been a bit more difficult getting uh getting these streams running so I can watch the games. Yeah, hopefully don’t have a problem when the game’s actually going. Guess we will see though. [Music] Definitely. I think the Lions are still in their Super Bowl window. So hopefully hopefully this can be the year, you know, that’d be nice. Um but yeah, as we keep having to we will have to keep extending players here. So as the years go on here, it’s going to be more difficult to keep all these guys together. And Jameson Williams is one of those guys that I figured would want a decent amount of money because he’s a good player. It makes sense, you know. Um, yeah, it’s going to be tough with guys like him and Leaporta is going to make a lot of money. Also, Brian Branch, I could expect Brian Branch to probably be the highest paid slot corner safety when he gets paid. Probably in the neighborhood of 20 million a year as well. So, you’ve got that. And then Aiden Hutchinson, it’s like, oh my goodness, there’s going to be so many highly played players on this team coming up soon. It definitely could be tough, you know. Definitely could be a tough situation, but hopefully not. We’ll have to see, of course. Let’s see here. [Music] Oh boy, I might just have to do it. Pretty interesting situation there. He keeps getting a little bit better every year, but when he came in, he was not really much of a passer, but like he has like incrementally gotten better every year. So, very interesting for the Jets. And um yeah, that’s really interesting. Looks like the the Steelers pulled it off though with a close victory there. Aaron Rogers having him a nice game. Unfortunately, the Lions will have to play the Steelers, though. And Aaron Rogers. Hopefully, we can kick their butt, of course. Yeah, we have to play the Steelers week. Uh, wait, wait. Let’s see. Let’s see what week that is. Oh, boy. [Music] Go to schedule. Okay. Yep. That is okay. It’s uh it is in December. December 21st we play the Steelers. Okay. At least Yeah, at least that’s a home game, right? Yeah, that is good. But looks like they will be a solid team if Aaron Rogers is uh anything like he used to be. That’s going to be a tough game for sure. Oh yeah. Alrighty. Hopefully things go well today on the defensive side of the ball. Definitely on the defensive line. I was expecting the Alliance to probably bring in somebody along the defensive line. Looks like Sidius Smith w up going to the Eagles. kind of surprised there that the Lions didn’t do anything, but they kind of told us they weren’t going to do anything and then I guess that kind of makes sense that they follow through with that. Yeah. Well, yeah. Hopefully this is the year though. Lines have been really good. Uh surprisingly good under Dan Campbell. just just got to keep trusting it and hopefully hopefully they can pull it off, you know. Hopefully they can pull it off while we still have this kind of core group of really good players together. That’s all you can really hope for, I think. All right, I guess we are good to go. The Lions have a really tough schedule this year. I mean, having to play at Baltimore is really, really tough. And I think we have to play at the Chiefs as well. Like that is about as tough as it gets. We may have the most difficult schedule like overall for any team in the NFL. very well could have the most difficult schedule. We also have to play at Cincinnati. Yeah, at Cincinnati, at Baltimore, at Kansas City. That is really tough. I mean, the Lions Oh, yeah. At Philly, too. I mean, the Lions are really good, but that those are some of the best teams in the NFL. So, definitely definitely got like a first place schedule, you could say. Alrighty. They do have Nate Burles on there today. That’s nice. I would say Nate Burles is probably one of my favorite kind of football talking heads. Definitely better than a lot of the people that get up on there. Much better than like Cam Newton and a lot of these other guys. There we go. It’s got the Steelers running by two points. 34-32. Pretty big game there. Let’s see what else is going on. You got the Commanders up big over the Giants. Looks like that’s the end of that game. 6 to 21. Looks like Panthers losing to the Jaguars 20-3. That game is only halfway through the third quarter, so it’s I’m not sure if the Jaguars Panthers was like a late start or something. Kind of interesting though. Seems like they are well be behind the rest of the other early start games. Buccaneers in a tight one right now with the Falcons up three with the ball. Only minutes to go though, so it might be just about over with a couple kneel downs. And we also have the 49ers Seahawks kicking off at the same time. Raiders pull off the victory and the Colts winning 33 to8. Wow, that is surprising. Must be a nice game by uh Daniel Jones, I suppose. Yeah, it looks like a pretty solid game. Oh, wow. They had Zach Wilson going in there. So, I wonder what happened. Maybe Tua was just bad today or something. That is interesting. Had to check that out. Looks like two or three through two interceptions. They might have just taken them out because the game was pretty much over, but who knows? Yeah, I think it just kind of got taken out because they were losing by a lot. Did not have a good game for two. Definitely. Jaguars got their rear end handed to them today. There’s Micah Parsons in the number one coming out the tunnel. Yeah, I feel like he looks kind of weird in number one. I feel like number zero or something like that would have been much better. I don’t know why number one on a defensive end looks kind of weird to me, but I guess I don’t know. Any kind of single digit number might not be great. All right, let’s see. So to go the complete other route and just play nobody is that is risky definitely like you never really know what it’s going to look like week one. So yeah for me I don’t like that probably. Two rushing touchdowns for Fields. That’s a really good game. Now the plays I watched, he looked pretty good, but I I wasn’t 100% paying attention. Pretty solid game. They almost pulled it off, but that could be just kind of like a revenge game, giving them uh a bit more of a fighting chance for Justin Fields. We’ll have to see how the season goes for them. But I do think throwing the ball to Garrett Wilson will be a little bit better. Like he’s somebody he’s used to playing with from college, so that definitely will probably help him out. I can’t really see that being a bad thing. I’m sure they are selling those Parson jerseys. Oh, yeah. I was kind of hoping the Lions would bring him in, but it would be really tough to make that contract work. I think with the all the guys the Lions will have to pay soon, including Jameson, who got paid earlier today. I think the three years 87 million or something like that. Got a flag. Well, Parsons might be the best defense player in the NFL, but if you’re looking at like an impactful pass rusher, you’ll be looking at a team that has like a few too many guys maybe or something. Yeah, I don’t know. Maybe there’s someone out there like that that I can think of team that has uh quite a few guys. Oh yeah, but I think um what is it Pascal? Pascal’s hurt. Um yeah. Josh. Yeah. If you are going to if you’re going to go for it a lot, you need a good offensive coordinator. That’s all I will say because Ben Johnson was money on fourth down. It’s open. I was going to say usually those pick plays, they don’t call a penalty if it’s within a yard. They’re not supposed to. So, well, big first down there going for it. That’s what you want to see on those fourth and shorts. You want to see wide open receivers for a couple of yards. And that is a very big part of this offense last couple years. So, if we could still be really good on fourth down, we definitely definitely have a chance at being a contender this year, I would say. But that was a big part of the last couple years. We had a lot of really close games where we picked up a couple fourth and shorts, and that definitely helps you in the long run. That is a lot of points when you talk about the entire season having a few plays almost every game picking it up like that. That’s just stealing possessions basically. Yep. That was good. And so far, that has been the case. I mean, really, that’s been the story. Uh, yeah, definitely concerning. Of course, this is this is a good one, too, right here. Um gosh, I can’t really scroll. Okay, I’ll have to do that way. Yes, the Lions have dropped Aiden Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport in coverage on separate reps and both have resulted in big plays. That is totally something that I am not Marcus Davenport is just not that kind of player, man. He is more of a heavy-handed DN. He’s got to be like 300 lb. Like he’s not. Yeah, not ideal. They’re getting really funky with their coverages. Definitely. Yeah, that is really concerning. And overall, I mean, the coverage has been not good enough. But I think so far, so far the pass rush has been the bigger problem. There’s been a few plays where Jordan Love has had to like pat the ball basically before throwing it downfield to somebody wide open, but it’s like it’s really hard in the NFL to cover for more than a couple of seconds, you know? Hard to explain, but like players are just too good. Yeah, this is insane, man. He is so quick and strong where like this inside shove by Su that would knock a lot of guys over. And that’s part of the reason, you know, I think the interior of the offensive line has been a huge problem this game. And it’s not just because of Parsons, you know, it’s been this Woodidge guy. Yeah, totally. Man, that is tough. Yeah, the interior of the OI and basically the whole game I would say I would say the interior of the offensive line for the Lions has been a critical fault. as well as the pass rush for the defense. Now, the defense just done better in the second half until that last drive where they kind of ran the ball, but yeah, they did get a couple stops at least. Oh, I got to plug my phone in. All right. Yeah, I think early on it was really evident we had absolutely no pass rush unless we were blitzing all out and we even had a couple times where we send five, six guys and we weren’t getting home. That is a problem. Of course, Micah Parsons is going to be a problem in this division. Um, yeah, he is a mismatch versus just about anyone in one-on-one. Even Pennul isn’t going to consistently win versus Micah Parsons. That guy is insane. And we knew that. I mean, that’s no surprise. Michael Parsons has been that guy. Yeah, it is tough. I uh I don’t really know if there’s an answer on this roster in terms of the pass rush. It might have to be a trade. I don’t know. Not Not every team we’re going to play has an offensive line as good as Green Bay, but I feel like they may have to at least make a move for somebody who can contribute contribute. Get a little more pass rush. Yeah, pretty much most of the pressures have been lining up five guys, six guys in the box and trying to confuse the offensive line. It’s really not been anybody winning on one-on-one unless it’s Hutchinson. That’s the only guy really. And he’s been getting chip blocked a little bit too here and there. You know, a lot of new starters on the O line. um didn’t really bring anyone to help the pass rush, which was a problem last year, but our coverage was so good last year in part because of the defensive coordinator we had. And I think that has mostly played out exactly how I expected. Actually, I thought it’d be a little better with the O line, but yeah, not great. It’s been a long time since I watched a game like this for the Lions where it was kind of over halfway through the first four fourth quarter. Yeah, I can’t remember the last time the Lions lost by 20 points. It must have been that Ravens game a couple years ago. We got blown like we lost by Oh my gosh. Yeah, we lost by like 30 or something crazy. That Ravens game. That was insane. That was like, oh my gosh. What? All right. They are running those commercials now. [Music] All right, let’s see. The Lions uh just could not get it done. really before I I mean before the game started I said interior offensive line you got three new starters one’s a rookie you know Graham Glasco is probably a better guard but realistically he’s okay and then you got Mahogany a left guard who only played a couple games last year in his second season uh three new starters on the interior of the offensive line was never going to be a strength of your team like it was before. Um, yeah. So, that that definitely was a problem. The interior of the offensive line picking up stunts, but also just winning one-on-one pass rushing. Uh, the pass blocking was not really where it needs to be the rest of the season. Um, I’m not really worried about Penny Su or Decker at all. Um, Parsons is just going to destroy almost anybody he goes against one-on-one. So, like for me, that’s not something to worry about. As far as the offense, I think I did like the offense. I I’m not really sure if like I have anything to say about the offensive coordinator or anything. I actually like I feel like what they were trying to do was mostly working. It was mostly like the blocking not holding up and stuff. So, at least for me, that’s kind of what I think offensive line was a big problem. You know, the interior of the offensive line could not hold up. And then they had to try and block Micah Parsons one-on-one with Penn Su. And um you know, sometimes it worked, but sometimes it doesn’t. You know, Parsons is just pro he’s one of the best players in the NFL. No question. He’s not a guy you want to really ever block one-on-one if you don’t have to. Um yeah, so that’s going to be a problem versus the Packers for at least this year. Um and then the defense, there really was no pass rush for the most part. that a few times where they did kind of maybe confuse Jordan Love for a couple seconds and get a late rush, you know, but really the pass rush was pretty bad outside of Hutchinson. Really just wasn’t there today. Um, yeah, no surprise though. They didn’t really address it and it’s something that Lions fans have been talking about, you know, like, hey, why didn’t we just draft somebody in the second or third round? You know, we did draft Tyreek Williams, but he’s more of a run defender. And the fact that he played so many stats today tells me they don’t really like who else they have on the interior for pass rushing because they had him out there on passing downs a lot. So that’s not good. Hopefully um I don’t know. Hopefully they’ll make a move for somebody. They definitely need help. Like I’m not seeing you need a a serious threeown starter, you know? There’s nobody like Micah Parsons out there right now. Unless there’s a surprise, you know, and we also have to pay Aiden Hutchinson very soon. So, like if you’re making a move for somebody right now, it’s going to be more realistically a number two edge rusher. something like the Bears did with uh was it Montes Sweat last year or something like um I don’t know some kind of rotational edge rusher, someone who’s not like a straightup starter. I would look at somebody like the Giants. They have a lot of guys, you know, maybe someone like that. But yeah, if you trade for someone at this point, you’re gonna be trading for a player on a team that doesn’t really feel like they need him. So yeah, that’s pretty much all I got for this one, though. Lions lose. Was it 27-13 final? I think I think that’s what it was. Anyways, unfortunate. kind of went the way I thought it would though with the with the offensive line and the pass rush, but I thought it’d be a closer game and it probably should have been a closer game.
