I Take On The BEST PRO’S In My Region! My First Win Ep8

Today I am taking on the best pros in the region at the PGA County Championship and we’re going to be playing 18 holes of stroke play here at Heskath Golf Club to decide who is at the champion. You may recognize this place as well because this is where open qualifying was. And this is what we’re going to be playing for today, the county championship trophy. Isn’t she a beauty? Hopefully I’ll be getting my hands on this later. [Music] But before we get out on the golf course, a little bit about it. It’s a par 72, a 6,73 yard golf course. And as I said, open qualifying was played here. I missed out on getting through by one shot for a playoff there. During this round as well, we’re going to be keeping our eye on three of my main competitors. If I can get past these three players, I think I have a good chance of winning the county championships. And they are Dan Croft who’s the current Order of Merit leader, Phil Kelly, who won the County Champs last year, and Paul Caner, who’s been playing some fantastic golf over this season. So, we’ll be updating you throughout the round as to how they are getting on as well. Yeah, game is feeling um pretty good to be fair. I’ve been practicing more again than I did the previous comp and we had our best finish there in the tied 10th. Wasn’t exactly the score I wanted, but I’m putting the work in, gyming it. I’ve actually been to the gym before an event today, which is absolutely unheard of. So this whole my first wind series has totally changed me. Um yeah, positive. I think three three under winds today. Wind’s starting to pick up. The rain’s lurking and it looks like it’s going to be coming. So anything under parad is going to be a really good round anyway. Try and stick to my sort of mantra which is have a clear intention on every shot, enjoy it, and just be kind to myself today. If we do that, who knows? Who knows? And uh I’ve got Steve with me again today. Super caddyy. So hopefully that’ll help me get that done. How do you think last week went, Steve? Uh I think the consistency was there. Um but you didn’t really hold much to be honest on the greens. We had one on the first, but didn’t really really hold anything else. But you’ve gone away. You’ve worked on your putting. So hopefully for better things today. What do you think winning number will be today? Well, one under when it open qualifier, but obviously that was in quite extreme conditions, wind and wind and rains. Bit windy today, so I think maybe three under something like maybe. Same. Same. Right then, little bit more putting into the first tea we go. Sit. Sit. Polly, but it’ll do. Just where where that seagull is. The path. Just shy of the hill. I think I’ll be hitting more bledge next. First T- shot away there. Tiny bit of a pull down the left hand side. I think we’ve run through the fairway into the rough, but first two nerves were nice. Kind kind of like that excitement of a comp now, which is great. But we’re off. Going to have about a 50 yard pitch. And away we go. Sit. Sit. Yeah. Checked. Nice. All right. Seven or eight ft checked on you. Just an absolute player. Distance control to the max. Alex put my lesson’s coming in up clutch. Yeah, if he’s going to do anything. Yeah, slightly left. Stuck on the floor like just never rolled 158 flag. 148 middle eight iron. I think eight Go, go. So the front just stalled of it. Yeah, soon as you get by that house, it I thought again halfway. I was like, it’s could be 10 foot. Looks like it’s going to fall to the right at the end. Yeah, that way. Yeah. Yeah. So everything’s going that way. Yeah. Let it play. Okay. Get going. Get going. Get going. Perfect. Cheers. Very bad stroke. Lack of concentration there. Oh, does the next Oh man trees a few times. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Okay. Yeah. I saw it from here. Well, for a nervy pulley swing, we have got away with it. 150 front. Everything slopes down from the back. Yeah. It’s just what we can. Where’s the wind here? Downwind from the left. Yeah. 164 flag slightly down gap. Just got to bounce it 164 all that way. Well, pins at the front. Yeah. So, we’ve got room behind it. So, yeah, middle’s 170. So, if I went pitching wedge, I go 3/4 and just over the trees. There’s a bunker left. Front bunker front left on and cover it. Yeah. Stay right out. Oh, the worst kick. Okay. God, that was horrible. Go, go, go, go. Not the start we were hoping for after hitting a load of good shots by that pulled dry. Well, go on. Right on line. Good effort. Got it then. Yeah. Terrible start. But any more golf? Right then. One. Seven. Six. Let’s keep going. Yeah. Seven or eight. See how with that? Give us a seven. Actually, I think if I hit a cut like a cuty one. Yeah. Yeah. That gap in the trees and Yep. Okay. Just done absolutely nothing. Hit it exactly where I wanted. Yeah. So, piss off. Yeah. That is one of the worst. It’s a great spot to stop him, but I’m not even risking chipping that. It’s that horrible and sandy. That little white mark out the flag. Yeah, it’s going to go down down down back to left and downhill. Yeah, just put it like as if it’s 6 ft short and it’ll Mhm. Make sure he gets there though. Done. Take that. Mhm. Bit of lady lock on our side. Even if the sprinkler was in the way, we had to One front left. It’s 180 middle. Yeah. Five or six. Six. Yeah. Six. Nice. 186. Yeah. Yeah. Just just left of it. Let it come back in. Five or six yards left of it. Yeah. Good. That’s got to be good. It’s got to be good shot. Great shed. Just seems to die then, didn’t it? Yeah, it was perfect. That was a great swing. A little dark patch behind the hole. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like that. Yep. Break. Come on. Okay. Stop. Does the wind not move that? Cheers. Keep on moving along. Keep on moving. It’s good shot after good shot. Right. Pray didn’t even kick. He just sort of It’s fine there. Don’t hit fairways, mate. Well, we got 200 to the front. Let’s get it out in play. I think just six iron out of that just to Yeah. All right. Come on. Dig. Get up and down. I’ve got a rough right. I bounced all that. No, just killed died again. Mo Hills, aren’t they? Yeah. Get relief off a moleh hill, don’t we? If you Yeah. How far have we got? Just have a little What’s up? 73. What? 73. 73. Go. M. It’s It’s windy. Mhm. Why have you not come out? Should have played a 50 there. I got it. Slightly from the left. Yeah. Huge jump as it started. Well done. Not about five off the tea. Shot in the end. Just stupid decision with that wedge. Anyway, let’s keep going. I hit the shot I wanted to hit on the last but aim down the right. Mhm. So, just hit the same just I’m just as straight as this as I am with an iron. Okay, do it then. Straighten that factory in the background. That’s okay. Yeah, there’s no bolts out there. Nothing really. 270 middle just doesn’t feel like you can go at it, does it? How much room you got left? Well, to the top of that hill, basically. So it’s whether you down the middle. Yeah. Yeah. Wind’s not Wind’s not doing anything crazy, is it? No. More into Yeah. Opens up a bit. Big open green as well. Yeah. I think just Yeah, that’ll do. It’ll do it. It’ll do. Donkey trying decent wedge. 115 into wind 94 SPI it’s 110 realistically in it another 15 on the shelf is one 105 so you reckon back foot 50 cuz that that’s 120 cuz it’s wide open you don’t want to be short’s going to release back to the pit the front’s 88 so that’s 100 so I think I just feel more confident hitting You know, a bit more of a full blooded 50 past it. Okay. Instead of a chippy feel like the right as well. Yeah. Just to a aim it at the tree. Yeah. Just inside that and the flag. Yeah. Yeah. Give yourself a chance. Go. Go. Pinner. Yeah. I’ve got I’ve got you. I’ve got the line. So just whip it out. It’s going in the hole. This cheers. Told you. Did I get in, Andrew? Yeah. Not a problem. Right. Let’s keep going. Let’s keep going. Lot more golf to play. Like that stove stake sort of as the goal line. Which one? Sorry. See them in the distance? Two red stakes. Yeah. Yeah. Right between them. Yeah. Yep. Nice and easy. Bit chunky, but two from Carl Morris. No fairway. Fairway found. That’s for you, Carl. Just right of it and let it drop on. Yeah, in between that fur tree and the flagger. Yeah, I like that. Stay there. Bit up there. Let’s pin eye that. Yeah, there’s a little slope in the green. Mhm. Cheers. A little bit too much there. Straight down the middle. Yeah. Keep cutting. You sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sit. Sad for you. Great swing. Great swing. Nearly missed the driver then. Tried to get a little Scotty to get it back in play. Full. Let’s go for it. Yeah. Straight at it. Yep. Get lucky. Get lucky. Sit. Sit. Okay. Just close the face on that a tad green though. Bit of a push. Poor pup. First one, but not a bad nine holes. So, let’s just go over that front nine there. And hopefully you’ll agree with me. It’s definitely moving in the right direction. The attitude, a lot of the shots, the overall flow of it didn’t feel too negative. It didn’t feel like I was spraying it too much. And to be fair, the wind was getting up. It was nothing like we saw at open qualifying earlier there in the year, but it was still tricky out there. And for nine holes, yes, one over par. I was actually quite happy with that score line. And I think there was two soft bogeies that we’ll get to, but um overall it’s definitely in the direction that I want to be moving. Now, just to pick out a few holes there or few shots in particular that I think um have played quite a pivotal part and also how I reacted to those. Firstly would be the second hole. Iron shot was pretty decent. The line was the line I wanted to um just pulled up a little bit short. It was very much into wind. Got it a little bit high up in the air and it stalled. K Ser, but we’re on the green and a good lag put to start off with. Now, the the second one, one of the things that I mentioned earlier in the video was that I wanted a clear intention on every shot. And here, normally when I have short puts, I line it up and my my sort of internal thinking is to try and go blank. Just think, trust your line, nice stroke, and just sort of let it roll. don’t get too bogged down in anything. I really try and have a clear mind. But on this one, I stood over it and I said to myself, right, we we really need to just try and think about how we’re striking the putter today. Try and feel that you get a really good strike as you’re going through. And as I was doing this, I sort of locked my eyes on the on the sweet spot and where the little line is that I’ve got on my putter and sort of followed it through and ended up pushing it. So, wasn’t a clear intention there. It was a thought that I don’t generally have and obviously resulted in it. What I think was good from there, I didn’t really lose my mind coming off the green and just thought, well, you know what? Still loads of golf to be played. Let’s crack on. Now, the other two bogeies actually came from poor drives, I would say. And as we can see, I didn’t hit a single fairway on the front nine of this round. The first wasn’t too bad. Third, poor pulley. Horrible drive. My alignment looked well off on there. The sec the six hole where the other bogey was. Poor aim again. aiming down the right trying to hit a cut which is going to bring it into the roof which is just poor thought process. I think that’s something that I really need to just lock my head on and probably make it a priority moving into my next competitions and my next rounds of golf to be really really focused on start line intention with the T-shot and just trying not to do too much. You probably will have heard my caddy weave say, you know what you doing? Like you’re trying to do too much. Just try and hit it straight down the middle. Which is something that Damian said to us earlier in one of the lessons. But I think those those two bogeies there just chalk down to, you know, having to do too much from a really poor T-shot. The iron shots weren’t too bad, but like I say, I was in a pretty poor position. Another pivotal point I would say would be the par 57th in that that was a hole that I was nervous on. I was reticent maybe to hit a driver but said to myself and and my caddy right come on we’ve got to got to knuckle down here. We need to make birdie and that requires being a little bit more aggressive off the tea. Yes, I didn’t hit the fairway there, but what I did was get a pretty good drive away that just trickled into the semi, which allowed me to get further up the hole and then hit a pretty decent wedge shot and roll in a 12T put, which from that hole there, which is a really tight hole out of bounds down the left, water down the right, I think it was one that I really had um a good grasp on my mental side there, was positive, stuck to it, and allowed me to get that that bogey choked off the scorecard pretty quick on that hole and then give myself good opportunities down eight and nine as well. Having a good positive mindset. Now, as I said, there was three players that I wanted to monitor throughout. I wasn’t looking at the scoreboard. Um the cameraman Josh was taking the info in for us and didn’t let me know, but Paul Caner, Dan Croft, and Phil Kelly were the threats that I thought that I had to to watch out for to see where they are. And as we can see after nine holes I was stood at tied 14th um one of the f well I was the second group out so one of the furthest along the course at plus two now Paul Caner after three holes incredible start here. He is two under. Phil Kelly after three holes was one over and Dan Croft not on that leaderboard there but he was just a little bit further down and he was also two over after four holes. So, actually not in too bad of a position. I did say three under was going to go and win the event. We’ll check in after 15 holes to see where we are on the leaderboard. Does it get a 240 club? Just up. I’m not Yeah, up the left. If I go weak where it looks like a head cover or something there. That’s kind of line. Well, yeah. Straight over that. Okay. All right. Let’s do that then. Wind’s going to be sort of into into off the left if anything. Just at the edge of the mound then cut it. Mhm. Don’t get short. Get short. Yeah. Short. Short of it. Yeah. Yeah. So popped up a bit. You got a hole of it though. Yeah. It’s actually about well eight irons. Good. That’s a strong wind, mate. Yes. That angle that’s that’s going to send it up. Yeah. I think seven. What? I just hit like a chippy seven is 160 back. So that’s playing 180, isn’t it? Yeah. So if I hit a like a 3/4 little sort of bunt off that line. Yeah. Just just left of it. Pin eye left middle on the green. Good yardage. Yardage was good. Yeah. Just a bit left on me. Hard off that slope. Was it work though? Good caddy. Drinking along show away with a four n I just get it up. I think eight iron’s one 1765. That’s going well over, isn’t it? Yeah. Yeah. Get it. Go for it. Straight at it. And straight out. Fly wind and go in. Ch. Cheers. Not much in it. If anything, it will come from that. Get back. I thought that was him. Hit a great putt. Exactly where I wanted it. Just Yeah. Went in. Positive put. Positive put. Move on. Straight at it. Yeah. Very good. Get through it. Terrible contact, but it’ll do. Listen to me. See the Yeah. Should bounce through there. So go through back these gap. 99. Yeah. 3 plane like 70 isn’t it? 3/4 54. You want to be big. 58 maybe. Think I think I can just heave that all the way and let it Mhm. Let it stop quick then, can I? Yeah. Yeah. I swing this three quarters. This is like a 80 yard shot. Yep. Go for it. Go, Matt. Go, go, go. That is the worst miss I’ve ever hit. Oh dear. I’ll be using this again. Don’t know what happened there. Face open. Yeah. actually struck it half decent underneath it. Mhm. Oh well. Only needed about two more yards that and there’s a load of green behind that hole. Yeah, it slopes down. Also needed to be 15t left and it was perfect. Sit, sit. Sit, sit, sit. I tell you what, she’ll be making bogey from 90 yards. Weird miss. That weird miss. Oh, how have you gone that way? Silly bogey. That Oh, well, trap’s 250. I think we just hit. See this bunker here? Yeah. You want to get over that, which is 222. So, I think it’s like between those two bunkers. The middle one on the right. Yeah. Iron three wood. Yeah. Or two iron shot. Perfect. Great shot. See that we can actually have a go at the green there. Yeah. Yeah. My only concern with that is just how it sat over three to back edge. I think a little lower. Little three. Two three. Huh? Slave went on just at the in between both traps. And yeah, you clear that. It’s like one 150 for that bunker. 10. Come on. Good kick. Tell you what, considering that was in like a weird drainage sort of scarified mark, that was probably the best shot of it today. That Mhm. that there. Yeah, it’s near that seagull. Yeah. Little pitch. Land it just on and let it run. Yeah. Yeah. Get it rolling. Yeah. I like this. I reckon I’ll hold it. Done. That just didn’t quite grab as much as I thought it would do. It’s okay. That’s perfect. Cheers. Right. 120 3/4 wedge. Punched at it. That window pins were right. Come on now, wind. Just drop it on. Drop it on. Cheers. Break. Break. Break. Break. Don’t. Lucky. Back. Hey. Kumba. 250. Don’t want to hit any. So far cuz if I get four iron running it. Yeah. Down the wind. That’s fine. Game over in it. Over the post. Yep. Weird flight. Should be all right. Should just be semi maybe. Mhm. 154. Mhm. And behind the front’s 140. Same as pitching wedge. Yeah. Yeah. 3/4 and just Yeah. Back in the stance. Yeah. There’s only bunker short. Right. That’s it. Yeah. Yeah. Go for it back. Yeah. Yeah. Birdie time. That has come out like a rocket. Kick. Sit. Go in. Sit. Come down. Come down. Keep coming. Keep coming. Keep coming. Keep coming. Keep Yeah, good shot. That was very, very weird. Look, I’ve absolutely middled it. Got away with it. Just was weird that flight. Got away with bit of luck. We’ll take it about a foot out the right. I think it might come back. Yeah, at the end it might go that way, but predominantly Yeah. comes down there and then it’s pretty flat here. Mhm. Here pitch mark between your feet. Right edge. Just get the pace right. Get off it. Got it guys. Would have liked to had a wedge shot. Look at birdie. But another good point. Yeah, it online. Couple more to go. Creep a couple back. So, we’ve got through another six holes here and we’ve just finished 15. And as I said earlier, I’m really proud as to how far I’ve come really with my my mental attitude mostly. I felt that I kept really level throughout this round so far. Um I didn’t feel like I was getting too high or too low. I felt like I was just sort of plotting along, having a good time with my my playing partners, having good chats with my caddy and being pretty clear on my intentions and what I wanted to do out on the golf course. The wind was picking up a little bit more. It felt like it was getting a little bit trickier, but I was hitting some really good shots. Shots into 10 and 11. I think they were really positive. It was a shame that that put lipped out on 11. I thought that it was absolutely perfect and going to drop center cup there. on 12. I think again this is another good learning curve for me and you know shows how far I’ve come throughout this series because hit a good drive straight down the middle. I’ve had a wedge which I have been working on but unfortunately just left the face wide open here and actually looking at the footage back after seeing it just got stuck on the inside and just hit a bit of a high push and unfortunately from an area where I was hoping to have you know inside 15 foot for a birdie putt. I hit it in the bunker and made a bogey. But then walking on to the 13th, this was another par five that in open qualifying, I actually didn’t take advantage of the par fives anywhere near as much as I do do today. Because on this one, I said I needed to be a bit more aggressive off the tea. I hit three-wood, took it down the center, and hit a lovely little 3-wood straight down the middle when the wind was into off the right. And that sets up another good chance for me to go at the green. And I actually make another birdie here after actually hitting a good pitch, which we have been working on. So, it was nice to see that after some poor holes on six and then on 12, I’m able actually not to let myself spiral out of control and actually go and follow those up with birdies there. It would have been nice to uh hit a better wedge shot than I did on 12, but you live and learn and I know what I need to be doing from there. Again, we’re going to look at the leaderboard and see where we are because currently now through eight holes. Paul Caner is still leading. He’s at two under. There are three other people who are at one under. Phil Kelly has actually dropped another shot. He is tied with myself at tied 12th. I’ve played 15. We’re both on two over. He’s only played eight holes. So, he’s got a good chunk of um golf to play. And I think the thing with Heskith is try and not destroy yourself over the first seven holes and then you make your score from there. So Paul’s done a fantastic job early on. And then Dan Croft was just a little bit lead down the leaderboard. He was at plus three. So a few more holes to go. Let’s see how we go. Get a kick for me. Awesome. Just didn’t turn it into the wind. Should have tried drawing that instead of fading it, idiot. So, yeah. Yeah. There your target up there, man. That’s your first real bit of indecision. Come on, mate. Real first one sit. Yeah. Special. Yeah. How’s it gone? Well done, Matt. What a waste of a round. That is a bit not fair. Nice pull, Matt. [Applause] And just smash it. Worst case scenario is that it comes out and goes in the trees, which it’s going to go more than 100 yards out of that. Yeah. Yeah. Grasp between the ball. Would have been lovely if it was here. It would have been just such a simple shot, right? All or nothing. Oh, it’s gone. I mean, hit it higher and have the wind going more that way to do nothing for you. Yeah. 50. Yep. Thank gosh. He spotted it. Get it out, M. Is that Yeah. Well, Could have been worse. Yeah. Get your bar. I’ll get it. Yeah. Good pop. Great five. Very adventurous. That’s a great golf hole. Right. Come on. Release it, Matthew. Release the beast. Right edge of the fairway. Only needs to fly 210, doesn’t it? Yep. Two iron. Yeah. Little stinger. Little runner. Just straight at it. Yep. Come on. Nice. Got a nice kick. Right. Yeah. Shot, mate. Middle of the green. One putt. Saves myself from drowning myself with a bottle of Morino. Right. Come on. Just needed a foot more pacing in. Not enough. Not enough. I think it’ll be all right come the end of the day, but shame about that hole. Cheers, f. Cheers, pal. Well, one better than last time. We’re one sacks actually clubhouse leader at the moment. We are second group out. Finished one behind him. Annoyingly, one under’s leading at the minute. Just that damn 15th hole and a little misput, but I’m you know what? I’m really happy. I think we’re going in such a good direction. So, let’s have a look at how we did fully. So, the final score was three over par. Now, looking at a little bit of data from the round before we look at the leaderboard, um strokes gained wise, this is the one that I’ve been using the most from. Minus.28 was my best result in short game. Felt like I chipped it pretty decent. Made some good up and downs. only 44% of those um were up and down throughout the the round today. Um which to be fair isn’t too far away from my season average, but I feel like I’m getting a lot better around the greens and with the pitches obviously bar that one on 12. But overall was pretty happy with that. My worst category was my T-shots minus 2.2 and the T-shots on three six and then definitely 16. They were the ones that really harmed me. I think three and six I left myself too much work to do. 16 maybe a little bit unlucky there. You know, it was a little bit of a push. It started maybe 5t right of the flag when I was trying to start about 10 ft left and then the wind takes it. Pitches on the road takes a huge bounce another, you know, 20 yards further away from target. And then the duff chip there was the one that really um stuck the knife in me. But the T-shots I definitely need to find more fairways which I said earlier and then putting minus 1.2 on there. I think that put early on on three was um unfortunate and again was that byproduct of me not having that clear instruction in my mind as what I wanted to do. What is the intention? What are you going to do with this shot? I was just a little bit in my head on that one. But the putting definitely feels like it is getting better. It’s not been one of my stronger points this season and I just feel like nothing’s dropped much. We had one drop on the seventh for birdie that lip out on 11 14 one just hangs right on the edge and there was a few that are just there or thereabouts and it’s one of those days where I had 32 puts this round. I always say in my mind, if I can get sub 30, get round 2728 and then keep the other stats maybe where they are up the fairway one, we’re going to be there or thereabouts to getting this first win done because it definitely feels like I am on the right path. Now, when we look at the results, I finished tied 15th at three over. The people that I mentioned, Dan Croft and Phil Kelly, they both finished at one over at tied ninth. And then Paul Caner went on to win at minus three. So well done, Paul. That was an incredible round out there. There was actually only five people under par out of the 40 that played that day. So six shots difference. Was there six shots out there that I could have changed? You know, there was definitely I would say three, maybe four, but probably not six. I maybe felt like one under, maybe two under would have been a a good round. What maybe would have been deserved, but we’re not far away. We’ve got a couple more comps to keep going throughout the season. Let’s just keep doing what we’re doing. Hopefully, you’re learning a little bit from it. Check out the podcast, like I say, coming from Carl. The podcast will be back as well from us soon. And why not watch a video here where you can see how I improve my short game with Alex Buckner.

  1. Great vlog. Much more confidence. Great idea to discuss the round and look at your competitors. Keep up the good work👍

  2. One of the best courses my husband and son played over 40 years ago.Stunning golf course and old style club house and very welcoming and friendly.

  3. Matty, peg your driver even lower it definitely straightens out the ball flight. This is progress, keep grinding!

  4. Great result, super attitude, really enjoying this series. The hard work is paying off, keep it up!

  5. Biggest compliment I can give is I actually watched until the end. Normally can't stand the moaning but this was much better for me and you 😁 same attitude on another day and those putts drop it's a great round of golf. I tip my hat to you for the attitude 👌 golf should be fun aye.

  6. Well played Matt, that bogie on the second and a couple of other putts that would normally drop could've made a big difference in your score. The par 3 16th was bad golf in all fairness but great attitude from you

  7. Nice work! Hey, I'm sure you or the cameraman noticed, but you dropped your water bottle on #14 after that 1st class shot from short of the bunker.

  8. Matt
I agree you had a more balanced approach and are certainly heading in the right direction. (Here comes the but)

It may just be the way the video was edited, but why on earth is your caddy involved in reading putts? It's the most consistent and best part of your game. I thought the to and fro between you both on club and shot selection just confusec matters and put doubt in your mind. I have always been of the opinion that caddies should keep quiet unless asked, I didn't hear you asking at all, although, as I previously mentioned, perhaps it was lost in the edit.
Best of luck for the next event, can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.

  9. You have a better chance of beating P Finch to a million subscribers than shooting under par in a tournament.

  10. My favorite part of YouTube comp videos will always be the number of bellends who pop off in the comments about how bad the players are and offer swing and game advice. I wonder how many trophies they have at home?

  11. Much better Matt, unlucky with a few putts ,tee shots could be better but overall not far off ,well done keep at it stay positve🙏

  12. I liked the improved attitude, Matt – you didn't let the odd hiccup throw you. Two or three of those putts could just as easily have dropped and you'd have been right in the hunt.
I think you should give up trying to cut irons into the greens – every time you say you're going to do that you either hook it or lose it way right. Just hit them straight!

  13. Great vid Matt. Your putting was always top notch, but this season hasnt quite been there. Shame as your game is definitely on the rise. Keep going and get that win 🏆

  14. The attitude was good, but please stop talking down your shots. Keep going, you are getting closer.

  15. Just starting to watch Matt, it is bad luck in some sports to touch the trophy before you win it. You’re probably not superstitious but in Canada your team would be upset at you.
Good luck, looking forward to watching you compete.

  16. Good job, you were staying in the present and just needed a few putts to drop. My best rounds this year have been with a calm state of mind and not losing my s**te after a bad hole. Keep this up, pulling for you.
I love all of the Mizuno apparel you are wearing. I compared what is available here in Canada vs the UK, you have 50x more variety but there are no shipping options from their website. I’ll have to load up on my next trip to the UK. My wife loved it and wants to go back soon so I will leave half of my suitcase empty for Mizuno swag.

  17. Well done Matt and still like the caddy being with you helps you talk about the shot instead of talking in your mind which I think when the bad shots come out keep going

  18. Your attitude was really good and you played some lovely golf you just keep going it will all come together for you matt
