Today is “Thank a Golf Course Superintendent Day” in Canada.
It marks the fifth year that the Canadian Golf Course Superintendents Association (CGSA), along with other superintendents’ organizations around the world, is celebrating the work done by golf course superintendents who are tasked with keeping playing conditions in tiptop shape for golfers.
Collectively, the CGSA and its brethren around the world, including the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, represent more than 31,000 professionals from 78 different countries.
Word of the special day is being spread today on The Golf Channel and through social media messages. Last year, Thank a Golf Course Superintendent Day tallied 14 million followers from around the world on social media.
