Vincent takes us behind the scenes of his private skatepark in his hometown. Built by his own brother on top of his woodshop, it’s a place that is meant to hang out with friends and enjoy a chill session, but also the reason Vincent is able to keep up the consistency he is known for in contests and in the streets.

So yeah, here we are. We’re in Saubrigues. It’s a little town on the, close to the coast in Les Landes. That’s where I grew up. And I start skating. My dad lives around the corner from here. It’s a small town. It’s like the mayor is a friend of my dad. We know him since we’re young. And then we kind of had like a dinner at the house
or whatever, like a meeting with him and they kind of like helped us to find a land here in this zone. My brother is a carpenter. He built the whole thing. We got lucky enough to get this opportunity. Downstairs is the workshop. That’s where they work. They like they are full on carpenters. They build houses. It’s pretty sick. So like 10 people working here. And then behind me it’s like offices. My mom works from here. And we have like the first floor
like in between, It’s like a little living room, living space there’s a shower and then coffee machine and pool table all these things. And then all upstairs it’s like a skatepark. Welcome home. It’s so sick! Skate here now all the time, which is pretty sick. And you just meet with all the homies. They just come by and, “whats up!”. Do you want to check it out? Vince used to be the Volcom, TM skater for Volcom and then we skated together for a long time and then, now he works here! I mean he has his own business an he’s working in the back of the place. But it’s sick. It’s like a skate workshop thing. It worked out. It’s hard to open to everyone so they can, because a lot of people are always asking like, “Ah, can we come skate and everything? Are you going to open it to the public?” But it’s like you cannot open it cuz you need the elevator, you need the fire exit. It’s like a lot of complicated stuff. My brother cut his finger on this machine.
literally cut his figure in half. So I don’t want to have a lot of people coming and hearing and we try to keep it tight. My mom working here, she helps with my brother which is secretary for the business of my bro and then helps me out a little bit too. And then… I think they made the decks with the skate park plans like the the blueprint from the skate park. It’s printed on the desk here. It’s pretty Yeah, it’s really like homemade. I think we all here, huh? No one else coming. They knock. So just we have like a app. There is an app and then I can
give access to some people on the app. They just come and just go “beep beep”. Sorry for the mess. Trying to
do like a little museum of all the covers I had of the mags all the trophies, street league cuz we’re doing a party with Element from the release of my pro board and announced me on the team at the end of this month like actually next week. And they were like oh it’d be cool to hang the boards on the wall because I never did. So it’s like this is my very first board and I was skating it so much, that my brother will take a machine to make it smaller every time so I don’t chip the board so much I could keep it longer. So that’s why the nose and the tail are so small. And then yeah it’s a couple like pro boards and – that one’s funny. Couple like boards I had in the past. Trophies, Street League stuff, random European contests that I did something from the hometown. They gave me this like key of the city. I don’t know how you call it, like personality of the year. I had like a little speech. I don’t know. It’s a small town, you know. Kids from the school came over here and we did like a skate lesson and we skated it with them and kind of cool. And here is like chill chill little space. Everyone hangs. That’s where they have food. I don’t know the like coffee machine. There’s like showers, coffee time. We play dart sometimes. It’s a nice place to hang. “We should play dart later on.” The thing when you go here, it goes,
“Nice shot, nice shot”. And then Yeah. And then we go up and we have to hang all these things. And then, yeah… That’s going to be the new one right here. It’s like where I grew up surfing.
It’s 10 minutes from here. My dad, shot the photo. I grew up surfing and I still have
the board at my house and we kind of redid it for the video part. Surfing the board and everything.
We have like surf clips. Can’t wait for the video to come out. It’s like sick to be able to work
with a brand that I know everyone for such a long time because been in Hossegor and I grew up there. I know the whole office, the whole team. When they approached me like, “Hey, would you want to skate
for us and we can do all these things with you because you’ve been here for so long?” It made a lot of sense. So sick to feel like back home and doing things with them, you know, with friends.
It makes it like very natural. And yeah, here it is. There’s the park upstairs. The lights is good. You see like the view is nice, too, which is sick. And then my bro and his team, they built the whole thing. It’s funny to think for me it was like, damn, it’s going to be such a long work. And then they built the whole thing in like a week. 3 days and it was almost done. A week to finish it cause for them it’s just so easy. It goes so quick cause compared to house
this is like light work for them, I guess. It’s like a very small place but we figured to – since it’s like a showroom thing officially, we need to have everything movable all the time. So all the rails all the like everything’s down here. All like the railing, the ledges they go under and then we move them and then you can move the Philly bar make it like a bump to bump. It’s so nice you can make 10 different park out of this one. honestly super sick to have this place it’s crazy, it’s like a dream come true kind of thing. Me and George we met at the 04 Skatepark in Hossegor we became best friends since. And the guy from the 04 Skatepark they helped us to make this one, kind of inspired by the one we skated while we grew up. Woah! And now we we’re back here like skating, you know? It’s so sick.

Good kid. Amazing skater 🔥
Just a heads up to anyone who thinks he’s on the element that you remembered as a kid that had Bam and Kenny, Hughes and Donnie, Barley and Jeremy Ray, etc. This is 100% not that. Element currently has basically two versions of the company. One is the US company that’scontinuing to be a former shallow of itself and then there’s a totally different European element company that sponsors different riders and has different team managers and all that shit so it’s basically not even an element anymore. That’s the company that Vincent is on. He has no affiliation to the US version of element skateboards only the European.
