Doral, FL – President Donald Trump announced Friday that the United States will host the 2026 Group of 20 summit at his Doral golf club in Florida, calling it “the best location” for the international meeting while stating his family business will not profit from the event.
The G20 consists of 19 of the world’s largest economies, along with the European Union and the African Union.
The U.S. last hosted the summit in 2009 in Pittsburgh.
Trump noted that Doral has the space to accommodate each delegation with its own building and emphasized the property’s proximity to Miami International Airport.
The summit is scheduled for December 2026, a time when South Florida hotels typically experience high occupancy.
Trump previously explored hosting a global summit at Doral during his first term but withdrew after criticism from lawmakers over potential conflicts of interest.
Since then, he has frequently traveled domestically to properties associated with his name, including golf clubs and hotels.
The Trump Organization is managed by his sons, but Trump continues to promote business ventures tied to the brand, including the $TRUMP cryptocurrency, and has traveled internationally for property openings in Scotland and Saudi Arabia.
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez attended the announcement and said hosting the G20 at Doral will have a positive impact on the local economy.
Trump confirmed he will not attend this year’s G20 in South Africa and will send Vice President JD Vance in his place.
Trump described Doral as “very, very successful” and reiterated that no money would be made from hosting the summit.
