ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Coach Bre Jenco era began as the University of Notre Dame women’s golf team started competition on the 2025-26 season at the Wolverine Invitational September 7-8. The Irish women finished the season’s opening tournament with freshman Jordan Levitt earning a top-10 finish en route to a seventh-place team finish and final score of 893(+41).
In her collegiate debut, Levitt led the Irish with a three-round total of 218(+5), including an even-par score of 71(E) in the first round of competition. The freshman followed it up with a score of 74(+3) to close out day one of the tournament before concluding the trip with another 74(+3) score on Monday afternoon. The freshman finished 10th at her first college tournament and led the Irish with a team low score overall.
Fellow freshman Sawyer Brockstedt finished second for the Irish, and 33rd overall, behind a final stroke count of 225(+12). Brockstedt posted a team low score of 72(+1) in the tournament’s final round Monday, following scores of 76(+5) and 77(+6) in the first and second rounds, respectively, Sunday.
In a tie for 48th-overall, Maddy Bante and Bridget Wilkie both finished among the top-50 at the first tournament of the year. Wilkie posted a first round score of 74(+3) to start the tournament while Bante’s 77(+6) sat just inside the countable scores for the Irish through the opening round. To close out Sunday’s contest, Bante recorded a 73(+2) score while her classmate Wilkie posted a 77(+6) to end day one. The final round consisted of Wilkie and Bante finishing one stroke apart as the former tallied a score of 78(+7) while Bante posted a 79(+8) tally to finish within the top-50 individuals.
Taryn Cagle rounded out the competition for the Irish, finishing the tournament strong with a 77(+6) score. She made her collegiate debut Sunday posting a score of 83(+12) in the first round before improving her standings in round two with an even-par score of 71(E) to lead the Irish. In three rounds played, Cagle finished with a score of 231(+18) and 57th overall.
The Irish return to the course next week with a two-day tournament in Toledo, Ohio at the Inverness Intercollegiate. Details for the tournament can be found here.
