What Low Handicap Golf REALLY Looks Like at His Nemesis Golf Course [Every Shot]
You’re not filming me, big fella. Oh. Uhuh. No. Get off. You can craftly film me when he’s not when he’s not rec. So, you might see these fellas in the background. We’ve got Luke and Fence from Up and Down Golf. If you haven’t checked them out, you definitely should. Great channel, Better Bloss. Um, we are unofficially going to see if I can beat them scrambling. Um, but that remains to be seen. Anywh who, how far is it? I don’t know. I’ve not set up my watch. Uh I’m hitting a 220 shot with the four iron at that tree. Hopefully get it in play. Well, it’s in play, but it’s very chunky. That in a lie to say that might be the worst golf shot I’ve seen you ever play, Johnny. Yeah. And it’s not even that bad. No, it’s absolutely fine. It was just rubbish. Okay. A suspiciously poor T-shot has found the fairway. I’ve still got 170 playing 155. So, it’s a decent eight time here. Can’t really come up short. Don’t need to be chunking this one, that’s for sure. Well, the strike’s better, but I’ve pulled it left. Right. In typical YouTube fashion, my warm-up was appalling. And it shows there I’ve dropped from the water. I’m hitting four. So, I really need an up and down just to make a bogey here. It’s definitely doable. That’s exactly what I was trying to do. Stay there. Sit. Stop. I won’t sink it. I hit it too hard for once. Normally it’s too weak. Right, we’ll start with a double. Get that out the way early. Um yeah, calamit start, I think, would be the the best description there. Now I’m worried because I’ve got the big dog out and can’t really miss left or right. So, best go straight. Stay there. It’s bounced out. Right. A bit of luck. That’s what we needed. And we’re off. Right. Oh, starting to find our golf game. That clipped the trees and bounced back into play. So 140 should be a perfect n ir actually. just on the side of right. A little bit too safe, but it should kick in, which it has. And hopefully we can get the flat stick on that. Well, I’m barely clinging on to our debatable match. Fence nearly chipped in for birdie there. It’s not a good read. It’s a solid four for this young man. That’s a bit better. Two shots up. All right. You know. Yes. Yes, you are. Well, you’re not in yet. Right. Stroke index one/3 400 yards or so. Um, I’m aiming at the flag. Should be able to carry the bunkers if I just on the side of right anyway. [Music] Bit left. I’ll stay straight. Right. I would just like to extend my gratitude for Heading for having us out. Very nice of them. And to you guys for watching. I love you all. It’s really nice of you to come down every week and watch my content. And this is a lovely second shot. I’ve got 120. The lie is good. So, no excuses really. Maybe it wasn’t a great lie. That’ll work. This would be a very nice par that shot left early on. Wow. good, not great. And still me. That’s a good nerve settler. Very, very nice. Right, I managed to dig deep into the golf bag and found my game somewhere. Just a short hole. 340 dog legs round, but just got the four iron. 220 aiming just at the right center. And don’t chunk it. There we go. That’s a good feeling right there. Yeah. Yes. Have some of that. Perfect for iron and a bit of difficulty for the up and down fellas. So, got a nice 90 yards, which is perfect for the sand wedge here. If I go slightly beyond, I’m fine with that. Don’t want to be short. be good. Yes, we’re golfing. Annoyingly, not quite as tight as I was hoping for, but it is a birdie putt. Incredibly defensive, but I’ll take it. That was quick. Another steady par. Still two over. Still two behind. Right. I’m pretty certain that Fence thought a seagull was a chicken, but we’ll move on swiftly from there. Fifth hole, 365 yards. Pretty narrow T-shot. So, I didn’t know where the driver was the call, but it’s probably my best club, so we’ll use it. I’ll do just up the left. Yeah. Yep. I’ll take that. Thank you. Now 91 yards. So it’s pretty much the same shot as I hit on the last. If I can leave this just short right as well, that would be even better. Go a bit. Uh it’s pretty good. I’ll take that. Bloody hell. Let’s put the cat amongst the chickens. Yeah. All the turn sort of happens in the last few feet. Yeah. Yep. Oh dear. That was a silly bogey. Right, after my frankly disgusting bogey, I’m three over, but that’s a nice view and a nice par three. And I think there’s a chicken on the green fence. I’ve gone for the nine iron. Just somewhere around the front edge with a little bounce forward would be nice. Ah, no bounce forward. And we’re in three putt territory again. I wasn’t expecting back jizz, but that’s what we’ve got. And this is a naughty putt. Just what I needed after three whacks on the last. Go. Wow. I thought you needed it. Yes. Yes. I thought that was getting nowhere near It’s downhill at the end, isn’t it? That really helped me out. Surely I can’t miss this. Yay. Back on the power train. But birdie would be nice, right? What a tremendous visual. Fence just blasted it into a bush 30 yards in front of us. And this is Never Driver. It’s 550 and it all just gets very tight. But it’s a par five, so as long as I can find my ball with the second, I’ll be laying up anyway. So, oh, that’s really good. Just stay on the right side. Oh, I might have got unlucky. Uggh. Going to have to be a layup. Not really much option. So, as you can see, not much chance of me getting there. It’s still 250. Um, so I’m not getting a metal wood on it anyway. That’s contradictory. So, I’ve just got n I just trying to hit it down there. That’ll do. Well, after an 190 yard n ir from the thick rough, I’ve only got 70 yards. There is a bit of a back stop, but I’m going to try and hit this about 60. I won’t be spinning it from here, that’s for sure. That’s what I was hoping to do. Hopefully, that’s good. We’ll find out in a moment. Thought this was going to be a birdie chance. Sit. Sit. Not bad. Bit more, but no. Was hoping for better, but a five it is. And a par on the card. Right. Battling away, but we have another par five. It’s only 470, but it is into the wind today. So, just going to try and keep this under it a bit. Get it rolling. [Music] Perfectly done. Off we go. That’ll work. Excellent T-shot. Still got 192 in into the wind. I thought it might be a four iron, but I’m going to try and chase it up with a five. Oh no, I pulled it left. Great strike. Wall up to tree. Right, I got away with it in that I think I hit that tree and bounced back to here, but it’s awkward. I can’t go high as such. So, I’m going to have to land it short. And I think about five feet right would be a great shot from here if I can pull that off. Yeah, it’s pretty much what I wanted and that’s what I got. I’ve left it short. H if ever you could sum up my channel in one frame, it’s leaving an 8ft birdie put short. Right, another five part. Lucky me, right? 390 yard par4. Don’t know why I decided to do that accent, but it’s downwind and downhill. Um, golf might not be spectacular, but the company’s good and so is the course and the weather to be fair. So, we’ll hit a healy Dan. Not intentionally. Well, I wasn’t wrong. My drive’s gone 348 yards very close to the ditch, but we’re fine here, albeit with a very deep looking bunker and not much green behind it. So, I’ve opened up the 56. It’s quite a good yardage just to give it a nice good swing at it. Oh, that’s too big. It’s not too bad. It’s going to be a very treacherous putt. Surely not short. I mean, I shouldn’t be disappointed. I’m delighted that I can tap in for a four from there. Yeah. You didn’t go up like Nope. Three over front nine after a double on the first. That’s not so bad. Well, aside from the double bogey on the first, it’s actually been quite solid. And I mean, who could complain? Look at this par three. 165 I’ve got it at, but into the wind. So, it’s going to be a nice smooth seven. Please be good. Oh my god. Please be good. Oh, it’s short. Oh god. Right, I’m just on the fringe, so I can’t line up my ball, which is already an issue. And this must be the longest pot on the course. Oh, that’s really good. Oh, that’s a good par in the end. 370 yard par four. Um, but I’m not going to play it the way it was designed because it’s too narrow down there. So, I’m going to absolutely smash driver onto the fourth fairway ideally and then wedge it on from there. [Music] Oh, no. A bit further right than I wanted. Right. In the words of Cape Verde, no stress. I’m actually fine. I mean, this tree is in front of me and the flag’s behind it, but I can get over with the 56 and it’s only 97 yards. So, job done. Sort of. I got over. Okay, just a bit of a push, but it’s a birdie putt and I love those. Don’t make them though. Come on. Now is my time. Up the hill, right to left. Where’s the brake? Nerve-wracking. It’s about right. All jokes aside, I’m actually playing quite nicely aside from a poor start, which seems to be the case all the time, and a 460 yard par4 now. So, aiming at the flag and hit it straight. Easy. Just heading a bit left. Hopefully kick right though. Uh, right. Um, been waiting a while. So, I put my jumper back on as it’s drizzling. And this is what I found myself with. I’ve got 160 flag. The wind’s helping me hit a draw. I’m just concerned about that. So, I’m very tempted to just chip out, but it’s not fun. I’m not quite in the water, although I’m stood in it. I’ve got 110. It’s not too bad, but it is raining, so I need to get this on the green if I can. It’s not easy. That’ll work. Spin now. Ah, golf shot. That’ be a crazy par if that went in. Too firm. Way too firm. Help. I don’t deserve to make double. I haven’t done a great deal wrong on this hole and I’ve been in a hazard against a tree. Nice. Decent bogeying in the end from some rather bad luck, I would say. Right, that was a bit of a kick in the old nads, but what a lovely hole we’ve got. Fraught with danger, 140 yards. Better hit it on the green with the n ir. No, that’s not hitting the green. Oh, maybe it is. It might have done it. Believe it or not, I have actually got lucky there. I’m not sure whether my ball just landed in the hill, but it’s just stopped dead there. It’s not an easy chip, but it could have been worse. Sit. Oh, just another one of those. Just came out a bit hot. Ouch. Not a good bogey. And that was a good putt as well. Just didn’t break. I think that’s five over. Right. I’m not going to be disheartened. We have a par five. After I make eagle here, I’ll feel much better. Oh, it’s towy. I need a great bounce. Oh, actually that’s fine. Sorry. That’ll work. Here we go then. The T-shot was fine in the end. Got 170. I’ve got my seven iron. That’s a good golf shot all over it. Whatever happens, I’m happy with that. Right then, I was right. It’s come up short, but we are putting for eagle up the hill. Oh, Johnny just duffed me put. How does that work? It won’t matter. This will go in and all will be hunky dory. No, it won’t. Bobble then start. Oh, we’ll blame the bobble then. I’m looking. I thought we were going to be celebrating a big birthday. Not with my putting. I’m sorry everyone. I’m trying hard. The thing is I don’t practice my putting. So, how do I expect it to get better? You tell me. And now 440 yard par 4. So no rest bite should be good just down the left. Hopefully short of the thick stuff and we’ll plon it on the green from there in three stab. Okay. T-shots turned out good in the end. Good angle 147. So it should just be a nice nine iron. That’s terrible. That’s really, really bad. Unfortunately, that was a bit like I fell asleep at the wheel only on my golf swing. Check. Yeah, not bad. Not bad at all for frankly ridiculous par that I don’t deserve at all. Good layup. Good bogey. Wait, actually, we’re not in. Heinous second shot. And that’s a bogey as the rain comes down. Yeah. As bleak as my spirits. Right. 16 344 yd hole. Not really an issue with the golf hole. It’s more between my ears and the lack of things going on there. I don’t think we’ll be making birdie from there. All right. Nope. Never got off the floor. Oh dear. Bounce left. Oh, for God’s sake. I’ve done really well. It’s bounced left and gone in the bracken. Well, chaps, this is beyond brain dead, but we’ll have a go at this point since the round’s pretty much gone. I’ve got some bracken to contend with. But literally, if I can move this a yard, it’ll be a tap in. So, here we go. There goes nothing. Oh, that came out well. Better than I thought. I won’t chip in. Needless to say, we’ve still got three feet for the Dubler. Well, it’s a one put and a double boge. We’ll leave it there. Right. The Fenty man has just stuffed one into about 8 ft. 8 10 ft. So, I need to replicate that. And I needed a good visual because I’m all over the place. I like golf again. Annoyingly guys, not quite as close as I’d hoped and quite a substantial downs slope to deal with. That’s a lot of left to right. I thought two and a half feet outside was enough and clearly not. Right, we’ve we’ve stopped the bleeding ever so slightly. Anyway, I don’t think I’ve got any blood left. Right, last hole. I’m wet, but I’m not miserable. I don’t think I might be a tiny bit. I’ll be honest. Yeah. Yeah. I’m just going to hit this as hard as I can. Try and hit a draw off that tree. That’s the most OB ball of all time. That’s going to be next to my car. Try that again. Wet club face. Still a bit left. Oh, it’s landed short and it’s spun. There’s a chance. If you’ve made it this far, thank you so much. I don’t know how you have, but I appreciate it. Sorry about my golf. Yeah, pretty good. But I will tap in for another double bogey which I believe is the third of the day and book ended my round. Thank you guys for watching. Um I’m sorry and I’ll see you next time for some hopefully better golf. The score a million over. No, I mean in the match what was the score? Oh, up and down one by a lot.
There’s always that one course.

This course lives rent-free in my head… and I thought it was time to face it. Every shot. No edits. Just me vs. the golf course that haunts my range sessions.

Some finish that Jonny boy 😂😂😂
You’re welcome Jonny…always watch to the end 😉
Yesss Jonny, Headingley. Tis the furthest ooop north I've played & I loved it. Really friendly people, bailed us out (excuse the pun) after the course we were supposed to play got rained off.
10 over would be fantastic for me
That’s the best score I’ve ever shot (on both a par 72 and a par 68) so you’re worst is my best.
" Not quite as tight as I was hoping for " 🤣🤣🤣
You got your revenge on the 17th this time mate! That's something 😅
🤔
??
🤨
Good news: you had a nice day out in the fresh air.
Tomorrow, after two weeks in Cardiff, I'm leaving and going back home.
Salutations…🙂
OMG headingley, i had my worst ever round there since i started playing competitions over 35 years in an open day, apart from on the tee, i was either behind a tree, under the lip of a bunker, in the cabbage or in a divot, it was a perfect storm of crapness, even after i parred the first lol. thanks for the bad memories of an 8 handicapper scoring 22 points in a stableford haha, and at over £100 a round these days thankfully i wont be repeating it.
