KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Pittsburg State University golf teams learned where in the MIAA Preseason Polls they were ranked on Monday (Sept. 8) as announced by the conference office.
Heading into their first season as a program, the Pitt State women were picked to finish 12th. The Pitt State women will make their program debut Sept. 8-9 in the Northeastern State University Classic in Tulsa, Okla., at Page Belcher Golf Course.
The NSU Classic will feature 16 teams, including the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, Missouri Western State University, Newman University, NSU and Rogers State University from the MIAA.
The Pitt State men were picked to finish 11th. The Gorillas feature eight returners from last season and four freshmen to round out the roster. The men will travel to Pierson, Mich., to take part in the Pilgrim’s Run Invitational, Sept. 8-9, at Pilgrim’s Run Country Club.
The meet is hosted by West Texas A&M University and the field includes Michigan State University and Miami (Ohio) University from the NCAA Division I ranks; Cedarville University, Davenport University, Ferris State University, Fort Lewis College, Northwood University, Saginaw Valley State University, the University of Texas Tyler, Tiffin University and WTAMU from Division II; and a pair of junior college programs.
