Eric Larson and Kevin Hughes are the gross and net club winners in the two-day 2025 Eagle Valley Men’s Club championship.

Larson’s gross total of 138 (64 the first day on the Eagle Valley Golf east course, 74 the second day on the west course) over the par-72 layouts was matched by Clifford Smith (69-69), but Larson won in a playoff.

Hughes was the low net (after handicap is applied) champion in the 43-man field with scores of 73 and 70, matched by Andrew Sels (70-73) and Smith again (72-71), and Hughes won in a playoff.

Rounding out the top 5 in the gross division was Gregory Whitt with 140 (71-69), Kevin Johnson with 143 (75-68) and Rudy Schmid with 143 (69-74).

In the net, with handicap, division, Whitt came in 4th with 144 (74-70), followed by Jim Higgins with 145 (68-77) and Bill Ruprecht, also with 145 (72-73)

In the three flighted net divisions, the first flight again had Hughes and Smith atop with 143, Whitt in 3rdwith 144, followed by Vince Mack with 146 and Larson and Schmid tied for 5th with 149.

In the second flight (players with higher handicaps), Sels led with 143, Ruprecht with 145, Paul Jorgensen with 147, Chick James with 152, and Terence Smith with 153.

In the third flight, Higgins led the way with a low net 145.  Bert Wells and Stevan Lyon tied for 2nd with 147, followed by Jeff Cloutier with 149 and Eric Sorensen with 150.

The Eagle Valley Men’s Club season runs through Oct. 26 on Eagle Valley Golf west (and occasionally east) course in Carson City and features weekly games with three flights based on handicap and optional skins games.
