INDEPENDENCE, Minn. – The Minnesota men’s golf team concluded its first day at the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational Sunday at Windsong Farm Golf Club.

The Golden Gophers completed two rounds of competition, where they sit tied for 10th place with fellow B1G team Nebraska with a score of 12-over par (296-284). They went 4-over par during round one and 8-over par in round two. West Virginia leads the field at 5-under par.

Notable Performances: 

Senior Cormac Sharpe (140) led Minnesota with 2-under after 36 holes. He tallied seven birdies on the day, including three in a row during round two. He ended the day tied for eighth overall among players.

Freshman Torger Ohe (144) ranks second for the Gophers at 2-over par as he made his collegiate debut in the Maroon and Gold. He picked up three birdies and finished even during his second round.

Sophomore Chun-Ta Wu (149) chipped in an eagle on the ninth hole during round one, which he finished even. He was the only Gopher to collect an eagle today.
