An interesting case. I feel like through osmosis he lost confidence. What I mean is, he was getting a lot of shit for being in every commercial and every Ryder cup team but he wasn’t performing up to that standard on the course. He was young and flashy and had a lot of confidence.
I imagine he just lost that mojo when he came in second every major that one year and then started listening to the haters. Which ultimately killed his confidence. Probably heard something like “if you don’t win a major within the first 6 years of your career you likely never will.” And then believed it.
Something it's not you, just everyone else are climbing higher
He got married and had a kid. Same as spieth
Didn’t he try to change his swing? Also he had a kid which sometimes changes you so not sure
Late in career? Man is 36
His ball striking is phenomenal and not just power luck drops
Umm because he’s rich, has a family, endorsements and still gets to play the biggest tournaments in the world. Don’t undermine his accomplishments.
His Putter stroke in that era was a thing of beauty probably the most free flowing I’ve ever seen and there was zero hesitation and balls were going in with pace unfortunately he’s struggled to find the same magic definitely a great ambassador of the game and a fan favorite
