I think this is this might go in. Uhoh. Oh yeah, that wouldn’t happen. No pot. [Music] Oh, that was a tank. That was awesome. That pressure. Pressure is on. [Music] Welcome back to the channel. Today, I’m going to be challenging some of the top players on the PGA Tour to a match. But first, I’m going to get inside their minds and figure out what makes them some of the best players in the world. You guys are going to love this video. Let’s get right into it. All right, guys. We have Michael Kim here and we are going to just talk a little about short game. I want to hit multiple different shots. I want to kind of see kind of just kind of get inside your head and kind of just talk to me about like what what is it you focus on with short game and then you know kind of some maybe a couple different techniques that you use to for sure earlier this year I I uh took a lesson from Joe Mayo. I think you really learn some of his stuff. Learn the the steepness the DSP and all that. I I joke I I don’t I’m not full mayo. I go just half mayo half mayo on on the short game setup wise is is really key for for that. So I I tend to set up pretty close to it and so my hands are pretty high, club face a little open. Uh ball position a little back and I have a tendency to set up this way which is which kind of leads to a a shallow path. Yeah. So, I kind of set up a bit more this way. That kind of leads to a slightly deeper cuz that’s I know from his videos he’s big on like having the spine angle more forward. Like he’s always talking about nose in front of the ball. I mean, it’s just, you know, this you’re going to swing this way. This you’re going to swing that way. Yeah. Um, so I’m like grip down at it a touch. All I’m feeling is kind of the right elbow and right arm kind of bend kind of along that line. Okay. Because you’re kind of coming down at a steeper angle and the contact’s better. Yeah. I get ball first contact a lot. That one was kind of like the lower spin. A little check. If I just wanted to run, I just don’t open up the club face. I just leave it kind of square. And I do the same thing. here is a pretty standard pin. But let’s say if if a pin is like over this bunker right here, then I I need a little bit more height. I stand a little further away. So I open it up quite a bit here. I’m I’m really just feeling like a big kind of a sweeping motion. Mhm. And I’m more like that. And that one you can see like I hit a little behind that and that’s okay. Um it’s kind of the the whole point of it really. Um, that helps kind of get the trajectory a little up about like that. Yeah. Let me hit a couple of these first ones. Yeah. I like how close you are. I would say you can still raise it uh raise your just your hands a little bit so your wrist go I think that’s okay. Yeah. Like a little more a little bit that way. Wow. That’s so like the heel so far off the ground. Then you’re also to swing kind of more like that way. Yeah. I feel like a little bit. Yeah. You’re you’re a little too like neutral in that sense. So So I need to be a little Exactly. that that definitely comes off a little. You you have a a little bit of a like a bounce in the transition. Yeah. Which is I think that’s more like a power like mag move. I don’t think really necessary on a short game shot. Yeah. If it’s like this way, that means you’ve you’ve kind of use the wrist that way. So, if you feel like maybe if you kind of extend to the target a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That that’s kind of like how how I like to think about it. We’re going to go play this hole. Um, thanks for your time here. This is going to be really cool. Let’s go play a hole. Get on to the next Let’s see it. I I don’t know. This hole is kind of weird, but that that big tree is left to the green. Okay. So, you kind of actually got to aim up. Hit it somewhere up there and figure out from there. It’s kind of pro golf these days. Yeah. Just between those trees look all right. That’s perfect. That’s so good. That’s okay. Was that your first driver swing of the day? Uh, no. Actually, I had I’ve hit a few before. So, I uh had had a little bit more. I’ve probably hit way more drivers than you did. You have today. I haven’t hit a single driver. We’re about to see what happens. I think that’s a good line. I think that that’s okay. Yeah, I think that’s perfect. I think that’s that’s probably a little bit of the I’ve had this left m left like really low left mist that’s kind of popping up. Uhhuh. So sure the body not being warm and then some of that could be a little bit of an issue. This wind it’s probably playing 160 but downs slope it’s probably closer to 55. The wind’s not going to touch it as much. So, I think I can get nine there, but I I I like I like kind of taking yards off of it. So, I’m just going to try and hit a 55 shot with the eight iron. See See what happens. Good job. Little knockdown. Like, this is just not where you want to be. This is I should hit maybe drive without hitting it. Any any like anything that you like think of like oh you know what like whatever shot you think like you can we want to make the hardest possible. This is this is it. I think I can draw it. So y aim out to the right a little bit. I think I think that’s your only shot. And if it doesn’t turn I think it’s okay. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Please get there. Oh my gosh, great shot. That was awesome. That driver wasn’t a perfect reflection of of what I’m actually capable of. Shout out Shout out to Michael. I don’t think he’s really familiar with YouTube golf, which is totally fine. A lot of people aren’t, but after I hit that, I mean, I I straight up sliced that. I haven’t done that in a long on my drive rate. It was the first drive that I hit today, but I think he was like, “This guy, this guy might need a couple extra massive breaker to the right is every bit of this has got to be a three at least.” Yeah. Crank. I’ll overcook it a little bit. Not bad. 8.2. I use it in very specific situations. If it’s kind of pretty singular brake and it’s not double braking and if it’s uphill, I like it. If it’s downhill, I have a hard time kind of gauging what what percentage I want. So, I like it. In this case, it’s pretty singular. It’s uphill. So, kind of read it about as a one. a little slower than oak monitor. That’s my excuse. Was it like were they scary fast? They were. So the greens themselves were they were fast, but they weren’t like pure speedwise. They weren’t absurdly fast, especially after after the rain. Yeah. But like the the slopes on the greens themselves were so drastic that um it made it feel much faster. This has got a little bit of movement to the left. See if I can tie. Nice. That’s a good point. Nice. All right, that’s a tie. No need to walk away with a bogey after that second shot. Thank you for coming on, man. That was awesome. Good luck this week at the Travelers. And um hopefully we can connect again at some point and appreciate it. Do something. Yeah, thanks for having me on. Yeah, good luck, guys. We’re on to the next shout out to Michael Kim. And uh if you’re watching him at the Travels this week, show him some love. All right, we’re back and we have Tom Hogi. Tom, thanks for being here. Absolutely. It’s good to meet you. It’s uh you’re just known for being a really really good ball striker. Is that That’s kind of what I’ve heard. So, um just kind of want to talk through that. Talk about maybe some of the things you practice to maintain that and um show me how to hit some long irons. Yeah. Um I guess I would start I would say, you know, I grew up in a lot of wind in North Dakota and Texas, so I feel like, you know, having control over the golf ball, flighting iron shots is kind of my strength. Um so you kind of got me in my wheelhouse here. Yeah, that’s good. So, we got like 220. I think it was like 220 down to 209 or something. But, um, there is some wind. So, I would say that on most days, you would want to have a really well struck, well-flighted golf ball here. You know, I feel like anytime you’re standing here top of a hill like this, if we can get on the green, yeah, we’re we’re getting on the green. We’re going from there. And we’re trying to get the heck off this one. Yeah. Try to work a little bit of a draw in here. Um, aim a little right of it and see if I can get a little more out of it. So, Come a little left. Hit pretty good. Hung out a little right. It was short short because of that. Yeah. But did you just like you hadn’t hit any range balls or anything? That was the first first full swing of the day. A lot of these guys felt a little stiff. So we’ll try again. Um maybe play the ball just a touch more back this time so I get a little more turn out of it. Come on. It’s just hanging out a little right on me. I’m consistent. They’re about 4 feet apart in the bunker right there. What is your when you as I mean someone you’ve been on tour for a long time, but like when your practice routine, do you you hit a lot of balls? Do you only hit them when you feel like you need to? Like what is that for someone at your level? So I don’t like I generally don’t hit a ton of balls. Um, you know, our title guys out on tour every week probably say I’m probably towards the bottom of the ball count every week. They had that at the Masters this year, which I thought was interesting to watch, guys. Um, and I was definitely near the bottom of that list. Bryson hitting like 400 balls or something. Yeah, probably about 40 or 50 a day. Well, I’m going to hit a couple here. See what you I feel like you’re going to hit this way inside of me after. I don’t know. I I have a five iron 2 that typically goes about 210, but we may have I mean, from the looks of that, feels like there’s a touch of hurt. I hit that second one pretty good. I was expecting that to be there. So maybe maybe we need a little more club, but I’m going to hit five iron, too. Okay. Yeah. See, that’s where the wind just overcooks it a little bit. Yep. It was hit good, though. I like the strike. You talked yourself right into that. I feel like you were telling me that’s what you’re going to do and you did it. That may be an alignment issue because I think I’m right on top of right on top of it. We’re both very consistent here. Two shots. Yeah. But then again, from from like 220 yards, how how like detailed are you trying to be from this distance? Yes. And you know, I think it all comes down to the hole and the trouble that’s around it and everything. Yeah. If you got a pin like this, a hole like this, you feel like you can maybe be a little more aggressive and try to hit one in there and see if you can steal a shot. Mhm. Um or you can get on holes where there’s hazards around and whatnot and maybe you’ll even try to hit it all the way back to the hole. You just play to the front edge, see if you can two putt and move on and get out of there. Um and I feel like that’s something, you know, like we talked about a second ago, as I’ve gotten into my 11th year now on tour that I’ve come to understand a little bit better that you’re standing here from 210 220 pars and uh we’ll have other birdie opportunities throughout the round of golf. Sweet. Well, let’s go play this hole. I I’m doing it with with every I’m doing this with like five different guys, so I’m playing a hole with every one of them and I tied the last guy. So, has anybody made me a birdie yet? Nope. All right. It’s pretty long from back there. We’ll be the first. Let’s go. What do we got here? You going to show me the way? I’m going to let you hit first. Oh, man. That that that big tree is just on the left of the green, but you can hit it at that big tree and it’s totally fine. Okay. Right. A little more right than it would look. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That’s perfect. The Oakmont Fairway finder. Yeah. Was the Was the rough as hard as it it looked? Oh, the rough was brutal. You know, it felt like standing on the T- shots just had so much pressure to you cuz you know, if you hit in the rough, it was almost like hitting the hazard somewhere else. It was just, you know, guys were having to like hit out of it sideways and just trying to advance the ball forward. All right. See if I can get one going down the fairway here. I’m going to try to hit something kind of low, too, because there’s a lot of wind up there. Oh, you got a little fairway finder there, too. Yeah, that that should be really nice. Should be right next to mine, right? I think so. Are you 30 yards by me? I mean, that one was pretty off the heel, so All right, 157. Playing 151 with the hill. Thinking just start just a couple yards right of it. Let it fall a little left in there with the wind and see if we can make a birdie. Oh, that was beautiful. Come a little left. Oh, that’s that’s a really nice shot. Pin high. It hung out just a little right on me still, but uh we got a chance. Yeah. Was that a little flighted eight iron or Yeah, a little eight iron. Yeah, like I love hitting those little 3/4 shots. Kind of flighting them in there a little lower. Yeah. Um so that one could not have set up any better for me. I’m going hit a 9 iron and I’m going to try to I’m going to try to play it about 145. pitching wedge is just going to spin way too much and it would come up a little bit short, but Oh, I left it out to the right. Come on in there a little. That’s got to go. Oh, out of the deep rough. I thought you were going to give me a read there. I know. I got a little work to do. I think I maybe just was a little bit Wasn’t quite as aggressive as I needed to be there. Tom is in there beautifully. I got a little bit of a downhill. So, it’s breaking left. Kind of just got to get it. I mean, this was just this was just a horrible misit. I think it was probably kind of a missed club, too. But really just got to get this on the green. How are we looking here? It’s really not bad. It’s definitely not Oakmont. Easy birdie coming. I don’t know about that. Get something rolling. It’s going to go a little left. Oh, yeah. That fast. Little past pin high. I feel like that’s kind of the strength of my game is hitting it to hole high a lot. So yeah, see how the speed of these greens looking. Are they rolling? Are they as fast as Oakmont? I doubt it. Like it should go a little left here. Oh, what a putt. Side door. Is that the first birdie of the day? That’s the first birdie of the day. Let’s go. Wish I did that a few more times at Oakmont. Yeah. All right. Mine’s moving left. See if I can make a putt for par here. Oh, I hammered it right through it. All right. Sneaky little pin right here today on a lot of slope. Good birdie. Thank you. Yeah. Thanks for coming on the channel. It’s fun. It’s great meeting you and uh good looks good luck this week at the Travelers. A lot of fun. Thank you. Yeah, that was awesome. How about that? First bird of the week. Yeah. All right, guys. We’ll see you here in a little bit with Justin Thomas. Guys, we got Justin Thomas now. Huge shout out to him for being out here. This is gonna be fun. We’re gonna We’re sitting at like one 20 and you can see he’s already got three clubs. I thought you might want me coming out here. Yeah, absolutely. So, we’re gonna um you hit like a lot of like you’ll take spin off your ad spin. So, like how how like you hit nine iron to 60° or like obviously not from this, but like from here. Yeah. Um I mean I would say like in this the lowest I would hit would be a sand wedge. Um, but likely no more than a pitching wedge. I think it’s it has so much to do with the, you know, the conditions. It’s like once you get on the west coast like Pebble Beach, the greens are so soft that I mean I’m hitting, you know, hit nine irons from, you know, one 110 120 sometimes just to keep it from ripping off the green. Yeah, that’s awesome. So, we got like 120. Okay. Want see hit a couple different types of shots. Yeah. Um, maybe some that like there there is like a pretty pretty steep ridge behind it. Okay. Um, so it’ be cool to just kind of see see how you do this. Never mind on that sand wedge. I ain’t getting that there. Little downs slope. Yeah. So, I mean, my stock gap wedge is like 125 126. I can kind of get 30, low 30s out of it, but if I try to fly it a little past it, I mean, I probably need to hit it pretty pretty hard. Go. Guess you could probably hit like what did you just hit hit a pitching wedge? That was a gap wedge. Oh, that was a gap wedge. Yeah. 52°. Yeah. This like how this pin is. I mean, it looks like if it doesn’t get far enough, it’s going to spin back and this down slope can kind of be a little misguiding that feel like it could fly it down. But I don’t like hitting wedges full. I just feel like it’s I don’t need to be swinging a gap wedge really hard here. So, I feel like with this, if I I want to fly this fishing wedge maybe on it, uh, or maybe one pass to use the slope, but the down slope, it’ll come in a little hotter. So, I need to try to get a little bit of height on it. Okay. Which will add hopefully add some spin to get it to come back. So, that’s going to be a little pass, but maybe come off that. Yeah, that’s like perfect. Do you change ball position much with that, or is it just kind of the same? Not much. like uh I don’t consciously do it. I probably do it I’m sure I do, but I like I change a lot of guys don’t like choke down or Yeah. near as much as I do. Like they’re pretty dominant of just kind of being here. But is that just like you just kind of do what you feel or do you have like kind of a system of like one inches a couple yards here? I don’t. I mean I can kind of gauge it but like if I’m you know hitting that same one and like I want it really really low. I mean, I can just I feel like if I choke down about this much, like it’s going to come in so much lower. Oh my gosh. Yeah, that’s so cool. And does that change the distance much when you choke down on it? Yeah, it’ll it’ll go shorter for sure. So, it’s um a feel type thing. I mean, that’s probably I wouldn’t hit one that low with a pitching wedge unless it was like super windy type thing. But um but how you hit it low is by choking down. I just I feel like it it it obviously does something to my delivery or whatever. And I mean I’m I’m sure I put it a little back in my stance, but I just feel like when I’m more when I choke down on I’m a little closer to it, more on top of it, and I’m just able to cover it a little bit better. Do you spend a lot of time from from this distance to 150? Cuz I think statistically you’re like one of the one of the better from like 125 to 150. I spend a lot of time. Yeah. I I mean we have obviously depends on different courses. Yeah. On how often, but it’s um I hit a lot of shots in that range, you know, in the green. So, I feel like it’s I put do a lot of work on Trackman and and just trying to get my yardages as exact as I possibly can type thing. like looking at trackman numbers, do you focus a lot on just like carry numbers and then like is it a feel for, you know, I swing it back this far, this is how far it goes, or is it just kind of It’s It’s all all carry is what I’m looking for. I I don’t do a clock system. Um I it’s it’s kind of strange, but I I generally will feel like I I take it back as short as I can to hit at that distance. Yeah. Okay. That makes sense. Like it’s it’s weird. It’s but I feel like because of that I’m able to have the same acceleration all the time. So it’s like you know if I’m going to like that cart sign like I don’t know I have no idea how far it is but like I feel like I’m taking it back as short as I can to accelerate the same to get to that. You know like it’s something to where I’m not you know if if this all stays the same then it should keep the trajectory the same. That makes a lot of sense. The, you know, the loft, I’m not, I don’t feel like I’m adding loft or like scooping it or anything because I think if I, you know, if you go back farther, like, yeah, I can hit it 90 yards with a sand or pitching wedge from here, but then I’m going to have to slow down and tempo’s going to get off type thing. I want to hit a couple here, man. And uh I want actually want to try choking down. I’ve never I’ve never seen someone choke down to hit it low. A little better distance-wise. Yeah. So, try one of Yeah. choking down maybe like a little uncomfortable amount. You know what I mean? Like you’re Yeah. You’ll get you’ll get a little closer to it instinctively, but nice flight. Yeah, that is really cool. Take that. Yeah. I mean, nice kind of one hop and Yeah. Stop a little bit. Sweet. I love it. All right, let’s go play this hole. All right, let’s do it. You’re you’re leading off since you know what this hole does. We’re going to play this hole. It’s it’s a 440 yard par4, but it plays way shorter if you hit it in the fairway. That really big tree right there on the left, that’s left of the green. Not the purple one, but like the second one. Like this rake right here. Is that is that fairway? Yeah, that’s perfect if you can hit it right there. It’s a narrow fairway, right? It’s not that narrow. Like I don’t know. Well, how do you do you drive it straight? I mean, that’s because it’s like narrow. I mean, historically, I do, but I haven’t hit it great on this hole today. All right, here we go. Well, that’s pretty good. Yeah, I don’t think it gets much better than that, Justin. Wow. Can I put yours? Damn. Maybe I should have gone first. That was pretty good. That’s right side of the fairway. I gone. Unless you I don’t know how far you hit it, but that might be in the bunker. Probably bunker. It’s into the wind. Oh gosh. Not ready for a fairway bunker shot right now. All right. So, uh, honest assessment. What do you think about Grant’s game? I was impressed, man. I just I kept I kept wanting to say, can you just swing harder? Yeah, I know, right? It’s like even when he swings hard, it’s like it just he it doesn’t it never looks like we played the proam at at Phoenix first time I played with him and like I mean he swings it beautifully and like everybody I’m like dude can you just like hit like this a proam you know you got four No sorry I know you’re trying to play well but can you send one out there like I’m going really go after this one just perfect smooth as ever. I’m like the smoothest 165 you’ve ever seen. Yeah. Yeah. So if we can just get him to swing a little harder. Yeah. Look at this. This right here. That’s That’s close to Oakmont. I wish I would have shot you for two days. Oakmont, you’d be hitting right here. Yeah, it’s exactly right. And then how how much do you think the like the weather impacted yesterday cuz like San Burns not getting drop? Yeah. Yeah. Do you think that was crazy? Um yeah, I do. I mean it’s one of those things. I don’t know if a rules official and made themsel involved when they didn’t need to be. I think 10 times out of 10 we take a drop out of there without getting a rules official in normal tournament. So it’s either that it’s either we don’t understand the rule Yeah. or they need to change the rule because it’s there’s no scenario he should have had to play that shot. So but I feel like he handled it really well. He did. He handled it better than I would have. That’s for sure. But yeah. Yeah. All right. What did you shoot this? I did. I got 148 adjusted. Okay. And then this is it’s into the wind. Into the wind out of the right. I mean, I got to get it over that bunker. Obviously, I’m going to try to fly it close to pin high. Mhm. But the lie. I mean, looks like it might come out a little knuckly. So, probably just kind of play like a nine iron. I think this is this might go in. Uhoh. Oh gosh. Oh my gosh. That divot’s going to be right beside the hole. Yeah, that wouldn’t have happened. window. That’s awesome. All right, 122. A little into the wind and I think I’m going to probably kind of play at the number, but I’m actually going to I’m going to hit a little pitching wedge. Justin’s in there tight. There’s only been one birdie today. So, wow. I got pressure. This is also going to be the first putt I’ve hit today. Yeah. I’m going to flight something in there. It’s pretty flat around the pin. If you go longer the pin, it comes back. pretty go. Oh. Oh, wow. That’s nice. You just invite me out here to just hit a perfect drive, stick a wedge, fake birdie. Fun. Appreciate it, man. That’s pretty good. All right. Maybe we’ll see two birdies in one hole. That’s insane. Look how Look how close they landed together. That was Justin’s and this is mine. That’s pretty cool. You guys working on their distance control out here? That’s right. Make some putts. I need to otherwise I’m going for the Mongol. I don’t know. I’ve been known to miss these. Mongolian reversal. I need to make mine. And a little bit of a feeder here. Put it out to the left. This thing’s going to slice. Go. Go. No way. You got to want it, man. Didn’t even want it. First birdie of the day. Or no, it’s only one birdie. There’s only been one birdie today. Feel confident over this one? I do. Yeah. I think it’s I’m not really gonna give the whole way. Just just inside left edge. Bang. And just like that. Yeah, that’s that’s really huge for me. I I tied one, I lost one, and I won one. And I have two more tomorrow. So, see what happens. Hey, so are you a victim? Yeah. No, I really appreciate you having me on, man. That was great. Yeah. Thanks for thanks for coming out here. That was fun. I love watching you hit golf shots. been a fan for a long time. Thanks, dude. Um, and it’s cool to I’m excited to see what you do with the Travelers and enjoyed it. Yeah, thank you, man. We’ll see you guys tomorrow. We got Lvig and hopefully Victor. Um, but again, shout out to Justin. Just as cool as I imagined it would be. All right, guys. We’re back next day. Unfortunately, we don’t have the weather we had yesterday, but we have Victor. Thanks for being here, dude. Good to meet you. It’s good to meet you. Um, so we’re going to work on some distance control from like se we got like 70 yards here. Okay. may move forward or backward or forward five or 10 yards, but I just want to pick his brain a little bit about that because it’s something I kind of always struggle with. And then we’re going to go play the hole. You guys know I have one win, one tie, and one loss. So, pressure pressure is on. Um, so what do you what is your kind of thought process from this distance? Uh, 70 yards. That’s pretty uh pretty much a 60° that I’m I’m going to use for that. Okay. Um, a lob wedge uh for this shot. I mean, we’re on a slight down slope and we got the grain kind of going our way, which is helpful. Yeah. Going to try to hit kind of a low launching wedge shot. Landed just short of the pin and hopefully couple bounces and then just check. Might get a little bit of backspin, but we’ll see. Sit. Mhm. That was nice. Little bit. Should have kept I could should have kept my mouth shut cuz that’s obviously not a full 60. No, that’s probably what like 80% or something. Yeah, my uh full 60 goes about 90 yards. Okay. Just over 90 yards. So, do you kind of have like a system you think about as far or is it just feel? I Yeah, I can’t do that. Uh to be honest with you, like my wedges aren’t the best. I need to spend more time with distance control really. Um, it’s not that I mis hit them, but sometimes it’s hard for me to, you know, these in between gaps, I I tend to hit them too hard. Really? Yeah. It’s hard for me to off speed that much. Yeah. I always come up short on these. Like I I I say it’s it’s fogal. Fear of going long. That’s fair. You You don’t really want to go long generally, but I’m talking like it’s always short. Way too short. Like you’re not duffing it on. No, no, no. about missing the green usually, but it’s more about like I’ll always just be it’s just consistently like 5 to 8 yards short, which is not horrible, but from 70 yards it’s like okay, we can stuff a couple of those. Yeah, if it’s soft little deep, maybe it can spin. Okay, put some juice on that. See, I used the ridge a little bit. Yeah, that’s a nice shot. Yeah, that’s not bad. But I also I feel like that’s a little bit higher than I would like to see it go. I was just going to say cuz I would like to see that come out a little bit lower. Yeah. How would you bring that flight down? Just close the face a little more. Uh see it’s a combination of like shaft lean or you can move your body more forward. Um and that just kind of depends on your pattern. But like if you if you and even guys like watching if you have a Trackman out on wedges like this, you generally want to launch the ball between 26 to 28 29 degrees. Yeah. And that was probably like 33. Yeah, that was a hair higher. Yeah. Um, so a lot of that is going to come from obviously the loft that you presented at impact or the angle of attack. So if you’re too shallow, the ball’s going to tend to want to go a little bit higher, right? So on these shots, you kind of want to be a little bit steeper. And you you got some help with the down slope. So almost just feel like you’re really going to hit pretty far in front of the ball, like your low point’s pretty far ahead. Yeah. Yeah. See how that came down? Way better contact, too. Yeah, that was nice. Like that’s a that’s a proper flight. Yeah. Oh, that’s beautiful. That’s it. That might go in. Come on. That was nice. Looks nice when it’s wet on the on the grains to kind of You feel like your path is a little bit left there or are you feeling pretty neutral? It’s pretty neutral, but I probably cut one or two yards or something. So, it’s a hair left. But that’s another thing, too. When with the wedges, you hit more down on it. Mhm. And the more down you hit, the swing path is going to go to the right. Right. So, you also you need to offset that with swinging more to the left to make it kind of neutral. I feel like sometimes when I get my body forward, I tend to get really uh like really steep. Just Yeah. I mean, just from uh looking at those swings, I can definitely tell you’re a drawer because the the club kind of works more around you and the the club head kind of is more behind you, which is nice for longer irons and and to hit high draws and stuff. It’s perfect around here. It’s it’s tougher to kind of work the ball. Well, yeah, that’s good. We playing this hole or Yeah, we’re playing this hole. All right, here we are back on the T- box. See if we can get a couple down the middle here and make a couple birdies. Oh, that’s left. I think that might be left of the grass. Yeah, it’s probably okay. All right, there. Yeah. Oh, that’s perfect. That was nice. I’ll take that. That should be just on the left side of the fairway. Yeah, good shot. Thank you. I got like 190 yards, I think. I’m going to go sixiron. Victor’s in the fairway. Great position. So, I’m going to aim kind of left side of that bunker and it should draw. I can’t tell. All right. Nice shot. That’s really not too bad all things considered. Got a birdie putt. So, I got a little chippy eight. Hopefully, that’ll be all right. Sit. Oh, that’s beautiful. Sit. See if it stays up on the ridge. Oh, it’s Nice shot. Good shot. We’ll take that one. That’s a great place to putt from. It’s uphill. Up the hill. All right. This one’s going to be tough to beat. I’m going to I’m going to try to sneaky make this right here. Let’s see it. Victor’s got like a dead straight putt, so it’s probably Yeah. Up the hill. I got a putt that’s probably breaking. I mean, this is every bit of a probably a four, honestly. So, we’ll just see here. See if I can get the speed right. Match the line. Wet greens. Go. Oh, if I just hit it. Little pizza left in that box. Yeah, I No kidding. All right, this to end it uphill, left to right. Oh, under red. Oh, are you full aim point? Yeah, I got I got no idea what to do if I don’t use aim point. Yeah, that is something. You can see I I use a pretty big line on the ball. I got double lines on the putter. So, I’m using all the all the help I need. All right, come on to Tai. Wow. Never a doubt. Never a doubt. Good point, sir. Good stuff, dude. Thanks for being out here. Yeah, you got it. Um, guys, that’s now what is that? That’s a that’s a tie, a loss, a win, and a tie. Um, and we have we have Bloodvig tonight. So, okay. Um, yeah, good stuff, dude. Fun hanging out with you. We’ll get to connect again at some point. Good luck this week to the Travelers, and yeah, it was good to meet you guys. I’ll see you in the next one. Like and subscribe. Yeah, that’s right. You heard him. Well, Jake, thanks for being here. Good to meet you. Absolutely. Thank you. Um you’re kind of you’re just known for one having like really you play really fast and two like I absolutely love your driver showing you great driver of the golf ball. So kind of want to hear about your thought process and feel like you you know can keep that up and maybe if you when you’re struggling what you work on to to get it back going where you want it to go. Yeah. Yeah, I think so. I mean, I think a couple years ago in college, we sort of made a conscious decision to to use the driver a little bit more and I added some speed and um it is such a big and important part of today’s game that it is such an advantage if you are good off the tea and and can use your driver. Um so I always feel like, you know, if there’s an area that I like to work on, it’s probably the driver cuz I know it’s going to translate. Yeah. I think one thing that’s important to me is is to feel like um you know that I’m I’m up on the ball but not too much. Um because I have a little bit of a tendency to get sort of underneath it a little bit too much and that’s when I sort of get behind it and I’ll start to add the hands and I’ll flip it and you can almost see both way miss which is really hard to play with. So I like to feel like I’m covering it a little bit more. Um and sort of that comes a little bit for my back swing as well. So, if I can rotate back and and keep my weight on my right heel from there, I’ll shift the pressure rather than sort of getting a little bit too much this way. And then from here, the only way for me to go would be back, right? So, it all starts sort of in my back swing um technically to to to work on. You feel like you’ve always had like your routine is just so you could like time it. I feel it’s within a few seconds every time, but like it’s just you walk up to the ball, I feel like you take one or like one look back and then go just like you have. Have you learned that or is that something you always? Uh yeah, I’ve always been a big believer in a routine. Um I’ve always been a big believer in sort of the consistency of a routine. Um cuz when you know you’re you’re playing a big tournament or even if you’re just playing at home, you know, the body the mind recognize certain situations and if you can have something to like like I’m holding on to this umbrella. If I can hold on to my routine like this for sure. Um that that’s great because that’ll really sort of you know if I can control this then that will be okay. Um but if I can’t control this, I can’t control that, you know. So um I’ve always been a big believer in that. Sweet. Will you mind hitting a couple here and then we’ll play the hole? I love that. What do you feel like you work on when you get to that pos? I guess you said you might have already said this, but when you get a little bit behind it, what do you how do you fix that? Um, yeah. For me, it it comes a lot from from my takeaway and sort of my back swing because if I get a little quick, like you said, I’ll get a little bit lazy here. So, I’ll get a little bit more this way. Yeah. And then from here, I’ll do a little bit of that. So, I try to feel like my back swing is really slow so that I can really give myself time to turn, get the weight in here on my right heel. And then from here, I’ll sort of shift the pressure this way rather than doing this. Yeah. I’ll I’ll do more of of that. All right, let’s play the hole. Um, it’s nice. It’s very nice. That’s some ball speed, isn’t it? 80 something. Yeah, it’s about 85. 85. Yeah. Yeah. I don’t have that in the tank. Blood big has 16. It’s 171 down to 165. So, right in the fairway. You got me by 40 yards. Yeah. What is your What is your kind of thought process when it’s wet like this? I It takes spin off the ball, right? Yeah. Normally, if if the ball’s wet from the fairway, you might get a couple more yards. Oh, okay. Yeah. Just cuz of less spin. Yeah. just, you know, a little bit shot forward like that. Um, and yeah, I think, you know, today it’s fine. You know, the greens were soft. So, so yeah, I got it was down to 50 m for me. My eight iron today would probably be around 55, something like that. 53. So, that’ll be a pretty stock 8 iron for me. That was incredible. I think this is going to be perfect. I judged it right. Stay there. Straight uphill. 15 ft. All right. Not bad. I’ll take it. Um 141 down to 39. Honestly, I think like a just a smooth pitching wedge. It should be perfect. There’s a little back stop behind it. If I can get something in there and make a putt. Oh, I’ll get a little left. Let’s try. Yeah, just short of pin high. All right, we got two birdie looks here. D uphill. I’m I’m gonna have some movement on mine. But have you been playing golf your whole life? I played a bunch of different sports growing up. So golf wasn’t like I’ve seen pictures of myself very young, but I didn’t pick it up more until I was 14, 13, 14. And I played soccer is my favorite. Really? I used to play a lot at Barnes. Did you ever want to like turn pro in soccer? Oh yeah. Like I wanted to be a footballer before I wanted to be a golfer. That’s cool. I’ve asked everybody this question, but was Oakmont just hard as it gets? It was. It was hard. I uh I played a practically at Travelers and I dropped a few balls in the rough. Just a chip. Like this. This is easy. Yeah, it feels like a cakewalk now. Is this what it’s meant to be like? Yeah. Breaking to the left a little bit. Maybe 20 25 ft or something. Looks good. Oh my Oh my gosh. Perfect pace. Perfect line. [Laughter] All right. Putt to tie. Okay. Nice putt. That was drippy. All right. Straight up the hill. What a putt. That was so good, man. I kind of wanted to squeak a win out there, but it’s cool to see two birdies. Hey, thanks for coming. That was awesome, dude. Good luck this week at the Travelers. And I love watching you play golf, man. It’s fun. Been a fan for a long time. So, thank you. I appreciate it. Yeah, it’s really cool. and um go squeak a win out there. That’d be nice. That’d be fun. That’d be nice. Yeah. Guys, hope you hope you enjoyed. Great video. Shout out to Titist. Um love being a part of this team. Super fun to get to do stuff with some of the best players in the world. And um we’ll see you guys in the next one.

  1. Remember when Micha played golf and spun the wheel for silly challenges with GoodGood? Now he's actually playing PGA players on his own channel. Dude made the right move.

  2. Micah makes hitting the golf ball look so effortless. He compares favourably with these pros in that respect. Pretty impressive stuff.

  3. @MicahMorris really GREAT content Micah. To me, this is the BEST kind of YouTube golf content, and because I am such a process-oriented person getting to swim around in the thought processes of these Tour Pros is really insightful. Also loved Viktor's raw honesty in that the game is still elusive to even players at his level and their always looking for avenues to improve. Also loved J.T.'s instruction about choking down on the wedges, "to where it feels uncomfortable…" That's risk taking in the golf swing and then seeing of the reward can be worked into the routine. Great segment! More video content like this in the future, please, with the best-of-the-best especially with trouble shots, and how to hit shots in different kind of conditions and contours of terrain.

  4. Vik has been my favorite golfer for a few years now. Love his swing and seems like a cool dude. I’ll continue to bet on him to win the Masters until he gets it!

  5. If there's one piece of advice y'all take from this video, it's JT talking about how he takes the club as short on the way back as he possibly can to hit it different distances. Best way to think about it is; always feel like you are accelerating the club through the entire swing… This is how most guys hit wedges but a contrarion would be Wesley Bryan… I honestly have ZERO idea how he is such a good wedge player because he takes it back super far no matter the shot distance and he decelerates to get it to go shorter… If you can do that consistently I guess stick with it, but for most people that would be bad, lol.

  6. It’s insane how easily these guys walk out here, barely warm up, and dot greens and still be like “eh that was alright” 😂

  7. Love seeing all these pros taking time out of their busy schedule to do this! Such a cool video!
