SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Wichita State opens their second tournament of the season on Monday in the Payne Stewart Memorial at Twin Oaks Country Club.
 
The Shockers opened the season back in August in the Jayhawk Invitational, where the team finished in fourth. Kayla Van de Ven and Mackenzie Wilson tied for tenth to lead the Shockers, while Amelie Paul tied for seventh competing as an individual, her first collegiate top ten finish.
 
Ten teams will join the Shockers at Twin Oaks, with most competing in their first tournament of the season. Memphis is among the teams and the field, marking the first American Conference opponent the Shockers will face this season.

The Field – 11 Teams: Creighton, East Texas A&M, Lindenwood, Memphis, Missouri State, Odessa College (JuCo), Oklahoma City (NAIA), Omaha, Southern Indiana, Western Illinois, Wichita State
 
The Shockers will be anticipated to finish in the top third of the field, along with Memphis, Omaha, and host Missouri State. Omaha won the team title in last year’s rendition of the tournament.
 
After her superb finish at the Jayhawk Invitational, Paul will make her season debut in the Shocker lineup, joined by Van de Ven, Wilson, Kate Tilma, and Manon Guille.
 
Freshman Magdalena Domine will also make her collegiate debut, competing as an individual.

Kate Tilma (Sr.) — Third-year Shocker…Transferred from Kansas State after freshman season…has played in every tournament since transferring to WSU…Earned AAC All-Conference honors after tying for seventh at the 2025 American Championship…Enters year No. 1 in Shocker history for stroke average in a career at 75.07
 
Manon Guille (Jr.) – First-year Shocker…Transferred from Abilene Christian…Played in 14 tournaments for the Wildcats, recording six top 20 finishes
