Metropolis Country Club



NEW YORK — The Columbia men’s golf team will host its 2025-26 season opener this Monday and Tuesday, welcoming a 15-team field to Metropolis Country Club in White Plains, New York, for the inaugural Metropolis Intercollegiate. The first two rounds will begin on Monday at 8:45 a.m., followed by the final round on Tuesday at the same time, 8:45 a.m. 

As part of the season-opening event, a dinner for all teams and participants will be hosted at Metropolis Country Club on Sunday evening. There is also a better ball college amateur event taking place Sunday afternoon, involving Metropolis members, tournament sponsors and other tournament affiliates. Following Sunday evening’s dinner, the tournament participants will be treated to a panel discussion including former collegiate golfers Christian Cavaliere, Matt Ferrari and Nathan Han ’24CC. The panel discussion will be hosted by Brian Crowell, an award-winning golf instructor with over 30 years of experience teaching students of all levels. Crowell is an active PGA member at both the sectional and national level, and has written extensively about the sport as President of the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association. He has appeared as a broadcaster and analyst for media outlets including NBC, CBS, and The Golf Channel, and also hosts On Course, a weekly program on Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio.
 
“We could not be more excited to host this event at Metropolis Country Club,” Columbia Director of Golf and head men’s golf coach Rich Mueller said. “I want to thank Metropolis, their staff, their members, our tournament committee and everyone who took part in making this event come together. It’s a fantastic field and I believe a tremendous test for all participants. It will be a memorable few days ahead.”
 
The 15-team field includes the host Lions, Bryant, Connecticut, Dartmouth, FDU, Fordham, Holy Cross, Iona, Lafayette, North Dakota State, Richmond, Siena, St. John’s, Towson and Yale. There are 84 individual competitors.
 
Metropolis Country Club will be a 6,878-yard test with a score of par equaling 70. Live scoring for the event is available through the College Golf Scoreboard, powered by Clippd.
 
Columbia’s starting lineup will include seniors George Rubelsky and Darren Pang, sophomores Ryan Keyes and Salil Khanduja, as well as first-year Alejandro Formosa. Two more Lions, junior Hunter Po and first-year Sam Johnson, will compete as individuals.
