Donald Trump’s golf skills have come under scrutiny after an incident where a caddy was seen dropping the ball in a favorable spot for him.
Despite this, his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, prompted former NFL linebacker Brian Urlacher to praise Trump’s golf game during an appearance on her FOX News show, ‘My View with Lara Trump.’ Urlacher’s appearance on FOX came after Joe Rogan doubled down on a Trump assassination conspiracy theory.
Urlacher, a staunch conservative and one of many former NFL players who support Trump, was asked by Lara: “Tell me about playing golf with President Trump. I know you guys, I think it was back at the beginning of the summer, we had a chance to go out on the golf course. First of all, how did you play? How did it go? And tell America, Donald Trump is actually a really great golfer.”
The former Chicago Bear didn’t immediately shower the U.S. President with praise. “Yeah, so I got to play with him twice out at Trump LA. First of all, amazing golf course,” he began.
Urlacher, the 2005 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, then described what a day of golfing with Trump is like.
“He’s so fun. The stories are amazing. 78 years old, he hits it really well. I hope when I’m his age I’m still walking, and my man is playing great golf,” he continued.
“It was fun to play with him, we had a couple of great guys in the group that were hitting it pretty good… I didn’t play great, I probably shot a 79 or 80.
“But I didn’t care, I was playing golf with the President of the United States. He’s amazing, he’s so much fun. I don’t think there were any quiet times out there… just great stories and a fun, great guy to play with.”
Trump secured his sixth victory of 2025 at the Senior Club Championship at his Trump National Golf Club at Bedminster in May. The White House’s official media verified his triumph, posting the scorecard while including the caption: “Winning on and off the course.”
Urlacher, 47, performed for the Bears from 2000 to 2012. He’s a member of the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade team, securing eight Pro Bowls and four First-team All-Pros during a distinguished career.
Lara Trump, 42, wed Eric Trump, Donald’s third child, over a decade ago. The couple has two children together.
