One Move To Help You Pure Every Iron & Hybrid Shot You Hit

So, I’ve just come off a lesson with Adam. Flew
in from the US, desperately wanted to hit the ball a little bit further and strike all his clubs a
little bit better. Was super cool. In less than 15 minutes, we added almost 30 yards to his iron
shots just to get going. And we didn’t do it by giving him loads of extra energy or getting him to
hit it harder. We just changed some simple things in his back swing. So, yes, he had more energy
stored and then just in some simple momentum stuff which really ramped up his power. and in his own
words, it just felt much much easier. I’d love to take the time to share it with you today. Before
I do though, look, if you’re new to the channel, your first lessons of mine, please consider
subscribing. I release golf videos just like this one every single week to try and help you
improve your game. Plus, as always, you never have to remember a thing. Everything we learn here
will put into a free download or practice guide in the description box below. Let’s jump into the
lesson. No, no, no, no, no, nope, nope, nope. So, let’s pop it in here for a second. So, the
one thing you said you’d love to get again, you’d love to get some more power,
wouldn’t you, in what you’re doing, right? So, what I’m seeing um what
we saw on the golf course and um ultimately we need to unblock your swing so
that we can generate more effortless power. Now, what you’ve got at the moment is this. You’re
getting yourself set up and what I’m seeing is this pelvis is still locked in place. Oh, I
should flare. And what and the feet here. I need to flare. Yeah. Yeah. The feet are very straight
on. The golf club then tracks much more this way like this. So it’s very up and then it hits down.
So you don’t have any form of arc to the swing. And it’s the arc. The more we can track this on
an arc, the more we can get this kind of catapult effect where the club can sling and create this
kind of like bang speed, right? Natural speed, effortless speed. But what you do is and you do a
really good job of this. You you take the club up, but then you and you come down on the go. So
you can get strike, but it doesn’t always then correlate to distance. Right. Right. And this is
obviously going to A lot of times I’m surprised that the ball didn’t go farther. Exactly.
Exactly. Right. So, so what we need to do is we need to make sure that you’re getting you want
to get the most out of your swing and you need to tap into more of that speed. Right. So, what
we’re going to do is we’re going to unblock this swing. Right. We’re going to unblock it so that
you’re able naturally without any any discomfort, you’re effortlessly going to be able to unblock
the turn in your back swing because look at what happens here. Look as I turn back here. My hips
are moving. You’re right. I needed my and then my shoulder and where are my hands tracking
here? Can you see how my hands are tracking on an arc around my body? Yeah. Where’s my left
shoulder? And you see where see my hands are over here somewhere. Yeah. Right. Your hands are over
here are over here. So now from here I can then attract and I can let this club catapult through
the shot. Okay. Yep. So but to do that we’re going to unblock this foot here. So notice this. This
right foot here is very important. was flared it out a little bit and notice here can sense you
see my pelvis is is pointing in this direction now I can pivot I’ve got all the space so I’m not
putting any strain on my body if anything I’m just unlocking it so I can make a a bigger movement
yeah so if you get yourself set we’re going to do this together okay okay great so I want you to
take your right foot flare it outwards right there you go right beautiful right I just need to there
so notice this Yeah. Do that again for me. Yeah, that’s it. Notice how as you flare it out, notice
how your hands are tracking here. The club’s tracking there. Keep going around. Beautiful. And
from here, you’re pivoting, look around, around that left hip. See the difference there? Yeah. You
pivoted. Beautiful. Now your hands are tracking. There you go. Now look at this. Where’s your belt
buckle pointing now? To you. More this direction. Right. Where’s your right pocket pointing as
you do this? Back and towards the target more, isn’t it? Right. So, keep going. Brilliant. There
we go. Left shoulder’s going down. Hands are working in pockets’s working towards the top.
More pocket. Right. Yeah. You go pocket pivot round. Good. And again. One more time. Try and
keep your this next to my hand. Don’t watch this. See the seal? Look up. Don’t move this. Don’t move
this away from my hand. So start again. Don’t move away from my hand. And pivot. See a difference
there? Yeah. And again. Difference. Oh yeah. Cuz then this is too much of a sway. Yeah. Well,
the thing is if you sway over there then you you got to you can do that. But you can still
get back. But it’s harder, isn’t it? Right. So, what we’re doing is we’re creating a pivot and
we’re p we’re pivoting. Look, next to here. Feel that? Yeah. Yeah. And again, there you go. Keep
going. Keep it Keep it next to my hand. There you go. Makes sense. Yeah. Right. What’s different
for you there? It feels better. Yeah. In what way? I’m making a bigger circle. Bigger circle.
Now, notice this. How much easier is it to make a circle if you just do this? much, isn’t it?
Much. So, even though you’re saying about our flexibility, you’ve got loads of flexibility if
you move correctly. Yeah. Keep it against the wall. There you go. That’s it. Right. So, make a
movement now. And what often happens with golf is so you’ve been getting strike by going this way.
But we get strike by getting forward this way. So, the further you are forward here, the more you’ll
strike it. the f and then what happens if you slide over here you then go like this to try to
try and strike it. Correct. See the difference? Right. But if you keep here, you don’t have to do
that. Yeah. Now, now that’s And again, now push against me now with this. There you go. Now you’ve
got strike. And again. No. No. Oh, again. You moved away. Yeah. Pivot. There you go. There we
go. Got it. Yeah. Okay. Have a go. So, all we’re doing is unblocking the arc now. Pause. Pause.
Pause. Flare those feet out. Flare those feet out. Both sides. There you go. That’s giving that
mobility. Yeah, it’s helping that. There you go. Wow. It felt good, but I still don’t see
it. That’s a rocket. Oh, there it is. That is a rocket. Whoa, that was a good one. That
was And that for for your club head speed, that’s your bottom of your swing. Now, naturally,
look, is 2.6 in after the golf ball. Good. That’s absolutely fine for you, right? With your speed.
Much much better. Total distance 145 yards with what? What club is that? Uh, that’s my 130 club.
Pardon? That my 130 club. And that’s gone. What? 140. That That’s That’s an extra club. 145.
Yeah. Yeah. So, and all we’ve done is get you in a sense into a powerful position to pivot
and unblock that. That last swing felt really good. It’s no flute. Let’s do it a few more
times. Okay. Feet out. Okay, off we go again. How’s that feel? Good, but I can’t see it. It’s
far. It’s far. How come I can’t see the ball? The last one. The last one was 145. What’s this
one? 147. So, club ball. Okay, I’m going to try the glasses again. So, get yourself set again.
Sorry. Ready? Just do a rehearsal for me. I’m going to put my hand here. Right. Make a nice
So unblock as you flare the foot. You unblock the swing. Yeah. That’s it. Pivot. Now when you
pivot this, this doesn’t stay still as in like watch this. It’s not this. There you go. Look at
this. This is allowed to move, but it just stays. You follow? Yeah. It just doesn’t move sideways.
Ready? Pivot. There you go. There you block it. There you go. Feel it freer. Yeah. Yeah. How
much freer does that feel? Better. Yeah. Great. Oh my god. Did you hear that one? I saw. Did you
hear the sound of that? Did you see it? I see that one. Wow. That was just a beautiful sound. But not
as far as the other one. No, it wasn’t. That’s But do you know what? It’s not about that one. Look at
the strike. 140 yards. Oh, that was that was fine. Yeah. 140 yards, but it’s three inches after the
golf ball. You’ve absolutely nutted that one. You can hear that, can’t you? Yeah. Yeah. Beautiful.
Beautiful strike. Well done. Little left. A little fat. Little fat. Little fat. Which means I know
what I’m doing. So, pause there. What does that mean? That means I’m not um turning. I’m doing
this. So, pause there. You should be doing that. So, what I would look to here is this. I didn’t
look from this side, but what we might see the chances are if you started hitting a little bit
heavy, the chances are this has moved. So yes, makes sense. Yes. Yeah. Because it moves and I
do that. Yeah. If you here, well, you have to find it again. So if you find that from here, if
you find that you’re doing this, that’s fine. But the problem is you got to find a way of getting
back there. Yeah. I don’t want to do that. But if we keep this here and pivot. Yeah. You can then
move forward even more and guarantee the strike. So now push against me. Do that. Pivot. Pivot.
Slowly slowly. Okay. Pivot. Now push against me. There you go. Pivot again. Push against me. I got
to do that. That’s it. Yeah. So when I do this, I Yeah. Well, you can do it, but it’s hard. Can you
Can you see how hard I want to do that? Feel that. Okay. I want to do that. There you go. There you
go. Beautiful. Right. Now, do one more time. Swing back. Push against me now with the hip. There you
go. Now you come back in. Okay. Yeah. All right. Felt good. That felt really good. So you’re consistently look
at this 142.3 there. So you’re consist which is better than usual. Well, more importantly, does
it feel like you’re trying really hard? No. No. And that’s the whole point, is it? We want to
increase our distance without loads of effort, right? And so this the simplest way to do that
is to build a swing that has two things. One, has a solid strike every time and two has an
arc to it so that you generate the basically the catapult effect. If you have an arc, you’re
already going to naturally without any extra effort. Increase your speed. Yeah. Brilliant. Hold
the club out in front of you for a second. Oh, okay. Let me just put it in the middle there.
Okay. Right. Hold it like this again. Oh. Oh, yeah. Right. Now, just so the club’s now
swinging with momentum, right? Let it swing with men. Don’t do anything. Oh, don’t do
anything yet. Feel that. Right. Y. Now, what I want you to do now as it swing, we
have momentum, don’t we? Right. I want you now as it’s swinging to figure out how do
we increase that momentum at the right time? Keep going. Keep going. In your own way. Good.
And again. Feel that. Yeah. There’s a move. There’s a rise and a fall, isn’t there? Up.
Just just sense that in your entire body. Now, imagine your body at the end of this now doing
it. So, imagine this. Keep swinging. Right. Imagine what your body would be doing on the
way through to help you do this. Go on. Keep going. Would it be going down and forward or
would it be working upwards? Upwards. Wouldn’t it? There you go. So, where’s your body working
to try and increase the speed? Is it working downwards or upwards? Upwards, isn’t it? Yeah.
Keep going. Watch this. Ready? Look at this. Look at what I’m doing. Yeah. Look at the
difference. Look where the club ends up and speed. Now, watch this. I’m going to match my
body to this now. Watch this. Up we go. Where am I going? Up. I’m rising. I am rising. I’m
trying to match this momentum. So now look, momentum. Where’s my body going? Up. Upwards.
Upwards. Right. Rather than forwards. Because if we stay down, there’s no real pe we we
there’s nothing there. So just it’s subtle. But this is why this is where speed is and it’s
very natural effortless power is right. Do that again for me. Feel it first. Slowly slowly. You
have to do this quick. That’s it. Just feel how your body’s going to pick up that momentum.
Stay down on one. Notice how little power there is. Right. And then gently and up. Yeah.
Bigger. Much more. And up. And again. Up. Feel that? Yep. Keep going. One more time. Stay.
There you go. Now, when you when you go up, don’t go up and this way. Just go. Just go up. Up.
Let it release there. If you That’s it. Let it go up. There you go. And up. Good. Right. Now, jump
into the golf ball. Right. And what you’re going to do now, it’s all set. Make a movement now.
Right where you get the the making that lovely arc. Weights there. Here. Lovely pivot. Right.
See if you can get a sense of that bigger pivot. Feel that? Feels better. Yeah. Okay. Make a pivot. That’s it. Right. Okay. And
again, it’s offset. Now the key, remember this. The foundation
is the pivot. Yeah. All right. That felt better. That felt better. So different. So different. That felt
better. That’s an absolute belter. Tell me what that number says. Get out. Your
thing is broken. That That That’s a lot. 152. That’s That’s a lot. And what club’s that? Seven.
Seven. There’s my normal 130 135. All right. So, so what you’re doing is is you’re combining the
two things together. But I’m not getting the speed up. No, no, no. I don’t have to. No, they don’t
have to. You you by the way you have got speed up cuz you was so much bear in mind this is a 79.
So you won’t have the same speed with a highway driver. The driver speed is going to be higher,
right? But no, the speed’s good. The difference is is what you’re doing now is you’re generating
more speed and power because you’re creating the app one. But then what you’ve got to do is you
then got to find a way of letting that club go. And that’s where that feeling comes in. That
was my best strike of the day. Absolutely. Yeah. Brilliant. Well done. Really, really well done.
And a little more pocket. That’s it. You got it. A little left, but it was okay. So much
better though, but not as good as the last one. Not as good as the last one. Not as good
as the last one. But do you know what we 130? You’re still 143.6. That’s That’s good. We’ll
We’ll take it. We’ll take it. We’ll take it. Very good. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Keep
going. Good. Love it. Yeah. Same again. So, I’m I’m looking at that left hip and I’m saying,
“Are you keeping that left hip? Are you pivoting there?” Brilliant. Pivot. Left shoulder
down. There you go. Beautiful. Well done. Oh my word. That felt good. You can hear it,
can’t it? It’s great that you’re feeling it. Can we just have a Can you just have a look
at that yardage? That’s nuts. That That is nuts. Just just just just shout out what that
yardage is. 156 and a half. This is my 130 club. I know. I know. Yeah. Great. Yeah.
So, the difference is now is like I said, that’s it. So, you’ve got ultimately you’ve
got first of all, you’re keeping it simple. You’re you’re creating solid contact by going
a great pivot. You’re swinging on an AR which then create that’s how you catapult the club,
but then you’re allowing the club to catapult with that final piece which is into the ball. So,
I hope you enjoyed that session. If you find that you relate a lot to Adam and you’d like to have

  1. Struggling with fat or thin shots? Or maybe you’re hitting your irons solid but wondering why they’re not going any further?

In this lesson I’ll show you a simple setup tweak that frees up your hips, creates a natural arc, and gives you that ball-then-turf strike every golfer craves. One of my students added over 25 yards to his 7-iron using this move — without swinging harder.

Remember, it’s not about working harder… it’s about unlocking the swing you already have. Enjoy it, and let me know in the comments how it works for you!

  2. Thanks so much Danny! I can’t seem to increase my clubhead speed… 60 seems to be my max😫… what should I work on instead? Thanks much

  3. Bingo! This was exactly my issue. Working on proper rotation and shallowing the club is the miracle cure! But… two other things I'd love to fix:
    1. I now have a draw (turning into a hook sometimes). I guess a weaker grip will be the cure for that?
    2. How to fix the jerky up movement at the end of the swing? Adam exhibits this at the end of his swing (just like I have), compared to Danny's smooth follow through. Not a huge thing, but I hate watching videos of myself because of that. Smooth follow through a lost cause when you're 65+?
Thanks you Danny, you're the best!!!

  4. Great video to watch and learn from. Perhaps dropping the right foot back would also help Adam?Which is how I like to play and helps clear the right hip and gives some space.

  5. Danny. I love the way you help seniors and have the patience n persistance to help n make better golfers. Proud of u

  6. I have already commented on this video, but I have to say again what an AHA moment this was for me! I am sorry for being redundant, but this was life changing for this senior golfer! The correct pivot, keeping the left hip almost anchored allows the right hip to turn back more, the arm or hands then take the correct path back, and you feel the arms and hands more behind me at the top of the swing. As you come down, with the left anchored, you now feel the hands more behind you and the thought is to catapult the club through the ball without feeling like you need to “hit “ the ball. The feel is addictive, the sound is addictive, you feel compression, you feel effortless power as the ball explodes off the club face! I cannot thank you enough for this video! My goal is now to take this from the range to the course. One other side note, it works as well with hybrids and fairway woods and Driver!

  7. I hope your fans appreciate all the subtle little things you do to accommodate the personality of your students, whoever they may be. Excellent!

  8. @DanielMaude, I’m thinking about a previous video where the alignment sticks were set up like this, and I’m wondering what the approximate angles are between the center stick and the others.

  9. Did wonders for me: finally I hit ball than turf. Although you always speak about the arc I now feel how to go with that with my body. Thank you so much for this lesson.

  10. Thank you Adam & Danny for a most helpful video that should really improve my swing.
Danny's suggestions apply to my swing & I am looking forward to applying them to my game.
I have been very busy this weekend & saw this video on Sunday evening.
I am going to make notes & keep the practice plan.
This video will really help to improve my game.
Danny's enthusiastic, encouraging style & pertinent suggestions are excellent.

  11. Cracking video Danny what a difference from the start of the video to the end. Sorfy lste getting to this one. Thanks as always and i hope you had a great weekend

  12. Thanks Danny. One of the best attributes of your style teaching is the simplicity in the breakdown of the moves. I've been recommending you to everyone!

  13. I used to always forget to flair my feet until I started thinking "Charlie Chaplin" when I set up.

  14. Absolute game changer!!! took this video/advice to the range today.
If it stays like that, my 5 iron will finally start be useful 😅 Thx!

  15. Hi Danny I have just subscribed I am a 56 year old builder who is going to start playing golf, I have played before but wasn’t very good , any tips please on what I should do first, ie clubs , lessons.

  16. Danny I love your videos but sometimes it just doesn’t work. I need help. I’m working on getting a good strike consistently with turning the wrists down like in a previous video but still pulling it. I think I’m not supporting the shot as well with my right side as I need to. Any tips you could give me? Thanks!

  17. Adam is always the best guest…I hope you're giving him a nice discount, because he's great content! ❤

  18. Thanks Danny, I found this to be a great reset-type lesson. I've been striking the ball okay recently, but I often lose it in the air (my bad eyesight doesn't help) but I've just tried this and it seems to have fixed my direction issues. Now I'm watching them go through the air, which is really important for visual feedback. Just like the postman, you always deliver, Danny! 😁🏌🏾‍♂😁

  19. Regardless of your coaching skills Danny , you're very kind to people..that's the most important thing as far as im concerned !

  20. I have seen “Adam” in multiple instructional YouTube videos.
Is he a professional student /shill?

  21. Commented on this video before. My question is on the lead arm do you keep it straight or should you have some flex when swinging back. I was reading Ernest Jones book. It is a good book if you are young and flexible but I am 80 with some mobility issues so l come back to watching this video. Thank You, Danny

  22. I love these videos! My name is also, Adam. How can I get on the list for these lessons? 😅 asking for an Adam.

  23. When I watch Danny’s videos I get these ads from other golf teachers mid-video; I can’t hit the skip button fast enough!

  24. With videos and comments like this you can reach 2 million subscribers before this year is over.

  25. I take a coach seriously when he has a student like this, an older man with restricted movement.
