Hoping to set this space up for a simulator, both driving range to practice and for fun on courses in the Winter. I'm fortunate the owners before me already installed a Sony 4K SXRD on the ceiling and have it connected to a receiver in separate room. For a hitting mat I was planning on the SigPro 3D 5'x5'. For impact screen, SigPro Premium, maybe 9'x9'. not sure whether to get the one with finished edges and build a frame with PVC pipe and use bungees, or is there a retractable ceiling one? Also, no clue what to choose in terms of Aspect Ratio. I already bought a Swing Caddie SC4 Pro to use with the net. Measurements are as shown, projector to front of the cabinets etc is 14 foot, not sure if that matters. Lastly, affordable computer option that can run course software. Thanks in advance for the help.

TLDR: Help me complete a sim. What impact screen and computer to get, is SigPro Premium hitting mat good choice. Already have an installed Sony 4K SXRD projector (older model) and SwingCaddie SC4 Pro.

Find used if you can. So much cheaper. If new bigger is better. Makes the whole space feel bigger even if your projector only displays across 80% of your impact screen.

For the walls I decided to build 2×4 frame then tightly stretch black curtains or cloth across it. This way errant shots will bounce off the cloth and into the screen. It will also look professional in your the cloth around the 2×4 frame. Nice box shape like the high end ones. You can attach the screen to the 2×4 framework as well

I would avoid pvc pipe. Use the metal conduit from home depot/lowe’s if you’re doing a DIY frame.

You’ll have to make sure the projector will work with your screen size and distance. That projector was likely optimized for that existing screen, and there’s no guarantee it will be a seamless transition to a larger screen.

Have you swung a driver in the room yet? That’s always the number one thing.
