I Entered a Paid Golf Tournament from My Simulator… Here’s What Happened

Imagine playing a quick indoor closest to the pin challenge on your golf sim and then walking away with real cash. Well, that’s exactly what this app lets you do. Pinseeker is an app that overlays competitive nearest to the pin tournaments onto your home golf simulator. You can scan a QR code, hit your shots as normal, and your scores go straight to a live global leaderboard. And I’m going to see if I can win some money. Now, it works with a lot of popular golf simulator setups like FSX Play, E6 Connect, and SkyRack, and many more. And today, I’m going to be using my unbelievable Foresight GC3 and the brilliant FSX Play software. It’s the best personal launch monitor that I’ve used that doesn’t cost 20 grand. So, I’ll leave links to it in the description below where you can get one for the best possible price. Now, once you’ve downloaded the Pinseeker app and you’re in, you can choose from some free events where you can win some gear or full-on cash tournaments that have entry fees from like $5 to $50. There’s weekly cash prizes, different skill flights to keep things fair, and payouts that go pretty deep. So, it’s not just winner takes all. It’s quick, it’s competitive, and it adds a little edge to your simulator practice, which is fantastic. but it does get quite addictive as well. So, I’m going to show you at first a free event that you can enter and then I’m going to have a bash at winning some money. So, I’ve got my iPad here, but you can do this on your phone as well. I’m just using my phone to do the recording now. And we’re going to head over to the FSX Play software, and all we’re going to do here, as you can see, it says Pinseeker. So, it comes up with a QR code that I just need to scan using the mobile app. Now, all I have to do is scroll through any of these unbelievable tournaments that are running currently and I just need to click on one and then I’m going to it’ll come up with a QR code and I’ll scan it. So, let me just find one that doesn’t cost me anything to play first. Okay, so I’m going to go down to this one where it’s free to enter and you can win $5 bonus, right? So, it’s 110 yards. I can click on that and if I press swing, it comes up with the camera on it comes up with the camera on my iPad and I can just scan the QR code that’s on my impact screen over there and away we go. Okay, so we’re on the Blue Bayou course on the FSX Ploy software. Well, there’s a lovely little fly over giving you an idea of the hole. We have five attempts at this 110 yard shot. So, I’ve got my 48 degree that goes around about 110 yards between say 105 10 with a good one. Um, so yeah, let’s see if we can get closest to the pin and win ourselves $5. Tried to smash that and hurt myself doing it. Are we looking though? How we looking though? Oh, it’s not a bad start. 16 ft 7 in away first up. So the leader it just said there is like two feet away. So that’s not looking good, is it? Let’s try a little drawing this time. It’s bit lower. Is it going to be any good? It’s a bit big. Oh, that’s not bad actually. 8t 1 in. Got to get it inside that 2 feet zone though. I’ve got three chances to go. Oh, that was not a nice one. Could end up all right, though. Oh my gosh, it’s closer than any of them. 51. That was a horrible fin shot that. But I will take it. It’s saying I’m placed fifth at the moment, which is not great, is it? I want to be better than that. Oh, tell you what, 7′ 9 in. I’m peppering this flag. Oh, that was the worst one of the lot. It was thin, but it was still very decent. 9 ft n inches away. Okay, that challenge is up. My best swing was 5′ 10 in away from the pin. I mean, I’m quite happy with those shots. So, this is a daily challenge on Pinseeker. We’ve got 14 hours left. Um, I’m currently in fifth place. If we head over to the leaderboard, you’ll see there I am in fifth and the leader is 2 feet 2 in away from the pin. They’re currently winning $3 of bonus points and 15 points. Second place is 5 feet away, as is third place, and they’re both winning $1 each. But ain’t that cool? Isn’t that a cool little challenge? And obviously, like I said earlier, um I’m using the FSX Play software. You can do this on the SkyRack software with the SkyRack courses, full swing software. Um, so yeah, E6 Connect, whatever it is, you play on those holes that have been chosen by this app and this software and yeah, you can compete in closest to the pin. Shall I enter a paid competition and see if I can win some money? Now, you would imagine that the paid competitions are less popular, so ideally that would mean you got more chance of winning. Um, and if I can pepper a flag like I did just then, I might have a decent chance. So, I’m just scrolling through looking for a decent distance that I feel comfortable with. I mentioned earlier that there’s different flights, and the flights are kind of like levels and abilities. Um, so I’m going to scroll through some semi-pro uh flight activities here, which is the level that it’s put me in. Okay, I like the look of that. Right, it’s $1 to enter and you can pay it pays out 200 bucks. Right. So, it’s a dollar. You get five swings. Right. I’ve purchased five swings for $1. So, let’s begin the session. Right. Little bit of pressure now because I’ve paid for this. So, 148 yards, I think it’s saying. Okay. So, we’re 148 yards away. We’re 23 feet down the hill. Um, I’m going to take an eight iron. I imagine my first swing may go a little bit far, but we’ll see. The leader is currently 5 feet away from the pin. Push that to the right. That’s going to be a lot more than 5 feet away. And the distance was big as well. So, we’ll call that a warm up and I’ll switch to a 9 irassively right as well. What’s the distance like though? The distance was a lot better. If I can actually hit a straight one, I might have a chance. It’s a much better strike. Be good for me. Come on. Come on. Go. Oh, that is not bad. It’s rolling away 15 feet. I’d be happy with that in real life, but I want to win some dollar. Oh, it’s decent as well. It’s online. Has it got the legs? Oh. Oh, it’s decent. Stop there. 8t 7 in away. One swing left. Come on, Mitch. Maybe I’ll win something for an 8 foot approach, but we’ll see. Oh, it’s good. It’s really good. Oh, be inside 8 ft. Oh, no. 10 feet 7 ines. Well, I’ll tell you what, they’re not bad shots then. I’d take them in real life all day, but unfortunately, we’re not inside the leader. Okay, so there are five days left on this competition. I ain’t gonna win. Let’s have a look at the leaderboard. So, this is cool, right? So, there’s a $200 purse, right? But it looks like um probably the first 100 people are going to win some money. Now, at the moment, I am in fourth place with eight feet. Um and I’m winning $2 at the moment. That is amazing. Uh I very much doubt by the end of the five days that I will be uh in fourth position, but I might. You never know. I might win my dollar back. Let’s wait and see, shall we? So that is Pinseeker. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s a great little bit of fun. Um it can be extremely addictive. Like I said earlier, I mean already I’m kind of itching to get back on it and try and compete and win a little bit of money, but I’m going to try and resist. Okay.
