CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men’s golf team will open the 2025-26 season as host of the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate at the Grande Dunes Golf Club on Sept. 7-9. 

The Chanticleers will welcome 15 schools for the three-day tournament, including Appalachian State, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Clemson, East Carolina, Elon, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, High Point, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Maryland, Old Dominion, Texas State and VCU. 

Coastal’s lineup for the event features returners Max Bengtsson, Jack Lee, Drew Sykes, Owen Kim and Coleman Ferguson. Newcomers Lucas Arntsen, Harrison James, Cameron Roberts and Santiago Schele will play as individuals. 

First round play from Myrtle Beach begins Sunday at 8:00 a.m. ET, with Coastal scheduled to tee off on hole one at 8:00 a.m. ET on the par-72, 7,578-yard course. The Chants will play alongside players from East Carolina and Florida Gulf Coast. 

The Chanticleers finished fourth at the inaugural event last year at 12-under par 852 (280-287-285). Kim posted the Chants’ best finish, placing fifth at seven-under 209 (68-70-71) while Bengtsson also placed inside the top 10, finishing with a six-under 210 to tie for eighth.

 

Santa Clara won the inaugural event finishing 21-under 843 (279-284-280). Campbell was only three shots back at 18-under 846 (280-285-281). East Carolina finished just two strokes in front of CCU with a 14-under 850 (287-278-285). 

Santa Clara’s J.P. Odland, UTEP’s Dyaln Teeter and Elon Jack Wieler tied for medalist honor at nine-under 209.
